Job description

About Us

We are an independent, global organisation of investigators and campaigners using cutting edge investigative methods. We shine a light on the financial and political systems that enable corporate abuses of power that harm people and planet.

The roles

We are recruiting for two exciting roles within our Policy and Advocacy team in Brussels, one Policy Advisor and one Assistant Policy Advisor. These positions will play a pivotal role in advancing ambitious strategies, campaigns and advocacy initiatives to help tackle the climate and nature emergency.

Working closely with partners and colleagues across the organisation, you will help support our goals to achieve meaningful change in EU laws, policies and corporate practices. Through strategic stakeholder engagement, advocacy and campaign delivery, you will contribute to achieving our influencing objectives and creating lasting environmental impact across the EU.

About you

You will be confident working with policymakers, coalitions and diverse stakeholders to drive meaningful policy and practice change. You will bring strong research, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to turn complex issues into clear and compelling advocacy messages.

Highly organised and collaborative, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities effectively and demonstrate sound judgement, discretion with a strong commitment to our mission and values.

How to apply

To apply, answer the following questions:

  1. Please describe a policy, public affairs, advocacy, campaigning, research or related initiative that you have contributed to. What was your role and what impact did the work achieve?
  2. This role requires working collaboratively with policymakers, partners and colleagues across different organisations and jurisdictions. Please provide an example of how you would approach building consensus among diverse stakeholders to advance a shared advocacy objective. (Max. 500 words per question)

Please send this to Peopleops at Global Witness.

At Global Witness, we are committed to making our recruitment process accessible to everyone. If you require any adjustments or support during the application or interview stages, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We want to ensure the process is an inclusive and supportive experience.
