Operations Manager

About the Role

Are you a strong leader who can motivate a small team? Support their CEO, Lisa Zimmerman, in championing a positive organisational structure? Then, here’s a look at some of the tasks they need you to take leadership on in this role:

· Day-to-day activities: Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the charity and of the project team and ensuring that all goals and objectives are met in a timely manner.

· Workforce management: Responsible for HR planning and policies, appraisal, staff development, performance management and reviews and staff wellbeing.

· Finances: To support our outsourced bookkeeper with financial admin in liaison with the CEO.

· IT involvement: Oversight of IT systems and processes alongside our outsourced IT provider.

· Developing systems: Ensuring that the necessary policies and procedures are in place, up to date and being complied with and that staff are appropriately trained, supervised and supported.

· Impact and reporting: Develop and implement a standardised dashboard of KPI’s for regular reporting. Support the production of reports for funders ensuring processes are in place to ensure that indicators and outcomes are met.

This is a new role for Integrate UK, with the aim to bring in an experienced operations resource (initially on an interim basis) to support their CEO and Co-founder – allowing her to focus more of her time on their strategy, partnerships and growth and impact.

About You

Being comfortable getting hands on with the above duties should be something that you’re keen to do when it comes to advocating for young talent! The team need you to come in and quickly understand what they do at Integrate so you’ll need to be:

· An experienced Operations Manager with proven experience in a charity or youth work setting.

· Experienced in performance management and staff development.

· Flexible and adaptable, turning your hand to all manner of things at short notice.

· Strong at time management, self-management and organisational skills, with proven ability to organise and prioritise own and others’ workloads.

· Able to keep track of our finances, systems and IT.

· An excellent communicator with good interpersonal, listening and collaboration skills.

The World Hepatitis Alliance is an international NGO, representing over 400 civil society and patient organisation members in over 120 countries. Our current partners are mostly global corporate funders, along with several private foundations, and most support is given through bespoke partnerships, sponsorship and grants. We have diversified the base of funding substantially, introduced new funding models, and identified new funding opportunities, including working with partners to respond to global donor or institutional funding.

Duties and key responsibilities:

• Together with the Director of Partnerships & Resources, you will support the implementation of the fundraising strategy, deliver activity plans and achieve income targets in line with organisational funding priorities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with some existing partners. 
• Proactively research and engage potential new partners and opportunities, which could include corporate partnerships, grant writing and sponsorship.
• Support on the delivery of sponsorship packages for campaigns and the World Hepatitis Summit – a bi-annual event hosted by the World Hepatitis Alliance.
• Support on the management of WHA’s annual corporate membership scheme
• Undertake your own projects such as the development of presentations, resources, newsletters or tools to support engagement with donors, working with programmes and communications colleagues, or support on wider organisational projects.
• Support the Director of Partnerships & Resources to deliver donor stewardship.
• Manage CRM database and provide administrative support across fundraising as needed.

The World Hepatitis Alliance is a small team who work closely together to deliver a wide range of programmes, activities, campaigns and communications. There may be opportunities to support on projects led by other teams and plenty of scope to develop the fundraising and partnerships function within this role as the team grows.

About you:

We are looking for a confident fundraiser who thrives on developing new opportunities and is self-motivated and pro-active.

We would like you to have at least three years’ experience in fundraising with corporates and/or trusts and foundations, or have demonstrable transferable skills, particularly around networking/new business and writing proposals. We would also like you to demonstrate skills in delivering presentations, managing data or supporter journeys, and it would be ideal if you had experience of working in, or a personal interest in, global health or infectious diseases.

We are also looking for someone who can work under pressure to meet deadlines while also having an eye for detail and desire to maintain high standards. Someone who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. We work quite flexibly, and sometimes with partners all over the world so there may be a call or two outside of working hours. There may also be the opportunity to travel occasionally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with demonstrable experience of coordinating projects to support the implementation of a new parish revitalisation programme that will enable 70-80 parishes over the next 9 years to grow and flourish through their participation in a two-year programme of learning, reflection and action.

Being a Head of Fundraising at St Wilfrid’s

As an interim Head of Fundraising, covering maternity leave, you will need strong leadership skills, a passion for fundraising with a track record for delivering financial results, and a desire to work for a meaningful cause. This role leads an incredible team of 12 dedicated fundraising professionals who, along with the support of our event volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. Their dedication to, and care for, our supporters generates over £4 million annually, which is vital for funding our care.

This role is pivotal in ensuring our fundraising department thrives, and will be responsible for:

• Developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive fundraising budget, including forecasting for the future, working closely with the Director of Income Generation
• Developing effective fundraising programmes in all revenue streams, identifying priority areas – to enhance the fundraising portfolio of income generation activities; consistently evaluating and adjusting plans and strategies
• Ensuring the close management of income and expenditure, making adjustments where necessary to ensure good financial management
• Leading, building and motivating the Fundraising team, providing leadership and management and overseeing development and training, to enable individuals to reach their full potential
• Collaborating closely with our marketing and retail heads as one of our department leads

Please note this is 30-37.5 hour a week, fixed term contract, until September 2026.

Qualifications and Experience

• Fundraising experience and specialist knowledge at a senior level and in a wide range of fundraising income streams
• Level 7 qualification in Fundraising
• Extensive practical experience at a senior level of leading and developing the skills of a team
• Experience of building high level relationships
• Experience of developing funding propositions, campaigns and securing significant funds in excess of £2m annually
• Experience of successful delivery against targets

About the role

We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.

As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.

You will prepare papers for and attend the quarterly Finance Committee meetings and will liaise with a range of stakeholders including auditors, the bank and investment managers.  You will be the ‘go to’ business partner at the charity, supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer.

You will manage a team of two colleagues – a Senior Finance Officer and a Payroll Manager – providing them with guidance, coaching and support to enable them to perform effectively. You will also collaborate and work with Directors and senior managers across the organisation to inform them on performance against budget and conditions of funding, as well as supporting fundraising and commissioning bids. 

You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to supporting transformational change in our processes and systems, as well as dealing with, and leading on, the day-to-day financial management. 

This is a broad and challenging role for a dynamic and systems-driven individual who wants to grow within the organisation, proactively problem solve and help colleagues to deliver on our mission.

Essential requirements include:

• Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, standards and the Charities SORP, and experience of applying these in a service delivery organisation
• Experience managing a Finance function in a charity with £1-10m annual turnover
• Experience of line management and developing a team using approaches that are empowering
• Experience of Business Central, or the ability to quickly learn a new accounting system

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Halton Haven Hospice as one of our Fundraising Managers, leading our fundraising team to achieve ambitious targets through a diverse portfolio of income streams.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who can develop and grow our income streams, including running successful events and campaigns, building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and working closely with our community supporters and organisations.  You will jointly manage our fundraising team and support them to deliver targets, provide excellent stewardship and raise awareness of our work in the local community.

Demonstrable experience of event management and working with budgets and financial targets is essential, as is the ability to confidently communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience of leading a team and managing volunteers would be desirable but not essential, however you must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and friendly.

Context and purpose of role

At the heart of the Ramblers lies our community of over 100,000 members and supporters, enabling us to fulfil our charitable mission across the length and breadth of Great Britain.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of excellent supporter service, coaching and empowering the Member and Supporter Experience Officers to meet the needs of our supporters. You will play a key role in fostering a positive experience for supporters, managing relationships with third-party suppliers, and driving continuous improvements across processes and systems. As a key point of contact for internal teams, you will traffic-control workloads, ensure smooth project delivery, and act as a champion for supporters across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with experience in working in high in-bound volume (calls/emails) supporter or customer service environments. The candidate must have experience in handling multiple enquiries across different channels and ideally in coaching, mentoring or supervising others.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Coaching

• Manage the Member and Supporter Experience Officers, providing the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent supporter service through tailored training and coaching.
• Lead regular check-ins and team huddles to review progress, share updates, and address any challenges or blockers.
• Support the monitoring of quality and productivity using satisfaction ratings, and performance measures. Take remedying actions, such as further training or support.
• Co-ordinate key business project delivery within the team, liaising with other teams, coaching the team, and supporting delivery.

Supplier and Project Management

• Manage relationships with key suppliers, including our payment processor, and fulfilment centre. Be responsible for briefing them on new projects and setting up procedures.

• Monitor supplier SLAs and performance measures, ensuring consistently high standards. Manage projects with third-party suppliers to time and budget.

• Proactively identify new solutions or efficiencies to improve working practices.

Operational Oversight

• Act as the first point of contact for incoming requests from other teams and campaign briefings, managing the team’s workload and rota.
• Oversee the scheduling and management of team rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for incoming enquiries, including peak periods and project delivery deadlines.
• Lead the induction and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel in their roles.

High standard supporter care

• Support the team daily in answering incoming enquiries as part of the role.
• Develop and maintain a framework for monitoring the quality of supporter interactions across all touch points and teams through call monitoring, complaints and compliments reporting, surveys, mystery shopping, satisfaction feedback and other performance measures. Where needed, work with relevant managers in other teams to develop solutions.
• Regularly review the quality of interactions handled by team members (e.g., through spot-checking emails, calls, and case resolutions), offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Advocacy

• Work closely with teams across the organisation to build and maintain knowledge bases that can be used by all teams to respond to queries and concerns, and to support teams in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

East End Homes are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a permanent Financial Controller. East End Homes, is a locally based and community-led housing association in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This year East End Homes is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In 2005 residents of five estates across Tower Hamlets voted for their homes and communities to be transferred to the newly established social landlord.  Today, its 120-strong team manages over 3,900 homes with local offices in each neighbourhood. 

The newly created Financial Controller position offers a rare opportunity for a technically strong, ambitious, and commercially aware finance professional to play a key role in reshaping East End’s finance function and influencing decision-making at a senior level. The Financial Controller will be a member of the Senior Management Team and this role is seen as a natural stepping stone toward Finance Director level within the sector.

The Role:

• Work closely with the Finance Director and Executive Team to support strategic planning and organisational transformation.
• Oversee the development and delivery of Eastend Homes’ long-term financial plans, annual budgets, and business modelling (including BRIXX).
• Deliver and embed a proactive finance business partnering approach across the organisation, influencing decision-making and performance management.
• Drive improvements to financial reporting, insight, and analysis, delivering value across the organisation.
• Coordinate the production of our financial plans and reports including monthly management accounts, the annual statutory accounts, forecasts and the budget.

The Organisation:

Person Specification – Essential:
