Purpose of the Role:
To work across Slough to develop and embed processes that enable the participation of children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in decision-making and service planning, delivery, and evaluation.

This role involves empowering CYP with SEND to make a difference, helping them develop their skills, abilities, and confidence to contribute positively to outcomes for other children and young people. The postholder will work collaboratively with partners across education, health, social care, and the voluntary sector to ensure best practice in participation, and that SEND CYP have a strong voice in shaping local services.

This is a specialist role requiring a senior participation officer with knowledge of reasonable adjustments, safeguarding, service design, and co-production, as well as experience of working with CYP with SEND. Creative, enthusiastic candidates with a desire to learn are encouraged to apply.

The post links directly to Slough’s SEND improvement outcomes, particularly empowering CYP with SEND to influence local policy, service design, and review services to better meet their needs.

Interview Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a presentation or lead a short activity with a small group of young people with SEND as part of the interview process. Interviews are scheduled to take place in the afternoon and early evening of Wednesday 11th February.

Key Tasks

1. Work collaboratively with relevant partners (education, health, social care, voluntary sector, parents/carers) to promote an ethos of inclusive participation.

2. Build and coordinate a network of participation and co-production across Slough to enable CYP with SEND to give their views and contribute meaningfully to service development.

3. Co-produce a range of additional participation opportunities with CYP and partners to ensure their input informs services, policy, and decision-making.

4. Apply a range of participation and engagement methodologies, including face-to-face, digital, and social media, to engage CYP with SEND.

5. Identify and support CYP with SEND to participate, providing appropriate mechanisms and support for diverse communication needs.

6. Collaborate with other ‘Youth Voice’ workers and youth participation initiatives to share best practice and develop training/resources for authentic inclusion.

7. Act as an advocate for SEND CYP’s rights to be heard in decision-making, recruitment, training, and policy development.

8. Promote accessibility and inclusivity, championing diversity across age, gender, gender orientation, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, socio-economic status, and disability.

9. Promote understanding of inclusive participation practices, challenging under-representation and unconscious bias.

10. Establish processes to report findings strategically and via diverse communication channels.

11. Engage in regional or national youth participation projects as required.

12. Demonstrate understanding of inclusion, diversity, and equality in all aspects of work.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of the needs of CYP with SEND, including autism, learning disabilities, speech, language and communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs, demonstrated through professional experience in a variety of settings.

• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, different communication needs, including non-verbal communication and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and the ability to make reasonable adjustments to enable meaningful participation.

• Ability to plan, design, and deliver fun, creative, and inclusive sessions for CYP with SEND that actively engage participants, build confidence and skills, and meet pre-identified objectives.

• Direct experience supporting CYP to engage in social action, youth forums, consultations, campaigns, or other participation initiatives.

• Confidence in applying a range of engagement techniques for both face-to-face and digital settings, including creative use of social media to reach CYP with SEND.

Chief Officer

Citizens Advice Woking (CAW) provides free, independent, and confidential advice and information to the residents of Woking, and anyone who works in the Borough, particularly the most vulnerable, to help with the problems they face.  We are the only organisation locally that can and does address client issues holistically, across areas such as debt, housing and welfare benefits, not just single issues, and this is increasingly important as client problems become more complex.

We are looking for a Senior Manager who will bring both innovation and experience to lead a valued local charity.

Reporting to the Chair of the Trustee Board, the Chief Officer

• Is responsible to the Trustee Board for the management and leadership of Citizens Advice Woking,
• Represents Citizens Advice Woking to funders, partners and stakeholders,
• Ensures the delivery of a high quality, impartial and confidential service, utilising both paid staff and volunteers,
• Is responsible for the continuing funding, planning and financial management of the service,
• Represents the organisation in Woking and contributes to the overall provision of strategic advice services in the borough.

In particular, the priorities for the Chief Officer in 2026/27 will be to:

• Manage CAW’s external relationships with our funders and the Woking community generally, to ensure satisfaction with the delivery of current projects, and their continuation,
• Collaborate closely with the other Surrey LCA Chief Officers to respond to the changing funding landscape. In parallel, continue to identify and deliver local projects for local funders,
• Ensure that suitable alternative premises are secured, and the transition is managed as smoothly as possible,
• Ensure the staff and volunteers are enabled to work effectively, particularly during this period of disruption,

The Chief Officer has an important leadership role, working closely with the Operations Manager, who has line responsibility for the staff and, generally, the internal CAW operation.  The volunteers are managed on a day-to-day basis by the Advice Session Supervisors, who are critical to ensuring the quality of advice to clients, and the smooth running of the office.

A. Project Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Project Coordinator and Admin. Officer to implement a project entitled Tragedy to Legacy:  Preserving the Social Heritage of the Damilola Taylor Trust, working with young people to create:

· A digital archive featuring documents, photos, and materials from across the Trust’s journey.

· Record 15 oral histories with young people, mentors, community leaders, and others involved with the Trust over the  years

· Organise a public exhibition in South London, with an online version, showcasing the Trust’s story and legacy

B. Admin. Officer

· Provide a range of administrative support to enable the smooth functioning of the Trust’s programmes, management and governance for a period of three months.

Roles and responsibilities:

Experienced Social Worker – NHS Pathfinder Partnership
 

GMRC is a registered charity working with adult women who are victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, providing independent, specialist support and promoting and representing their rights and needs.

The post-holder will be based at GMRC but work alongside TRC and MASH women’s services and Greater Manchester Pathfinder partnership, with service users who have experienced sexual trauma but who present with additional complex mental health needs.

Key responsibilities:

- They will work with service users in partner organisation settings and in the community, working collaboratively with individuals, carers and partners from local multi agency providers and services, to assess and identify social care needs that may be potential barriers to the client being able to address their sexual trauma.

The successful candidate will also coordinate the delivery of our Expedition Workshops and manage our Workshop Facilitators.

We’re seeking an experienced Events Fundraising Officer to work on delivering our UK wide portfolio of challenge events. We are seeking an experienced individual to help us deliver a productive, empowering, needs-orientated programme of training and development activities for community rail groups. Under the guidance of the Training & Development Co-ordinator you will aim to strengthen the community rail movement and enhance the value it delivers to communities.

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain to support a growing ‘community rail’ movement. Community rail promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making projects, and brings people together. 

Community rail is made up of 77 community-based partnership organisations, 1,300 station friends volunteer groups, and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects with young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and marginalised groups, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail. 

Our enthusiastic team of 23 works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. Responsibilities: 

You are principally responsible for supporting the delivery of a year-round programme of high quality, empowering training and development opportunities for our members. The programme will be delivered in line with inclusion and accessibility best practice, will be largely online with some face-to-face sessions and events.

• Work with the Training and Development Co-ordinator to agree a rolling programme of training that supports member organisation capabilities and their impact on communities. 

• Topics will largely include areas required to achieve accreditation (for CRP’s) as well as good community-based practice for other member types. This includes but is not limited to training to support members with skills in creating and prioritising activity plans, project management, how to apply for grants and funding (including our own grants funds), how to prepare for an accreditation meeting, designing good outcomes and demonstrating organisational impact (including impact reports and use of social media), community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and co-production techniques. 

• Work with the Training & Development Co-ordinator to ensure your own understanding of these topics is current and identifying areas for personal development to support our training offer to be more robust. 

• Work with colleagues in other teams to set up, administer and deliver (largely online) webinars, networking and showcase events, setting them up, researching and engaging speakers and collating case studies to use, sending invites, facilitating the presenters and discussion during the event, and collating and reporting on feedback to inform future sessions. 

• Support the T&D Co-ordinator, colleagues in the regional support team, and communications team, to promote training and networking sessions effectively. 

• Where directed ensure we maintain high-quality training partnerships and opportunities that members can be signposted to and be responsible for administering our bursary scheme.

• Regularly report on bursary expenditure, member feedback, attendance figures and any specific funder requirements. 

• Be responsible for supporting member organisations and colleagues to use our impact reporting platform and to keep up to date on any changes in how we record and demonstrate the social, economic and environmental impact of community rail. 

• Attend team and all staff meetings, online and in person, contributing to strategic shared areas of work, information sharing and workforce development activities.

Hoxton Health helps hundreds of local people to manage long term conditions and stay mobile and independent as they age.  We are seeking a new director for our calm and friendly complementary therapy clinic based in St Leonards community hospital.

About Us
Hoxton Health is a well-valued local charity, established over 30 years ago, providing low-cost complementary therapy treatments for older people and those with long term conditions. We fundraise and build partnerships to subsidise treatments, offering lower costs to older patients. Based in St Leonard’s Hospital in Hackney, our friendly team consists of independent practitioners delivering therapies through the week, two other part-time office staff, and a team of volunteers who run the reception.

What will you be doing?
The Centre Director is responsible for the management of all aspects of the organisation's operations and development – internally and externally.
This includes:

• Governance and strategy, including support for Trustee Board
• Oversee smooth running of the clinic
• Finance and fundraising
• Staff management
• Monitoring and evaluation of grant funding
• Development of new projects
• Partnership engagement with other agencies

The clinic is small but busy, with varied days and experiences. We foster a friendly and supportive environment for both our patients and team members. Leadership, guidance and inspiration for this must start with the Centre Director’s work and influence.

Youth Hub Lead

Organisation: Fit For Life Youth (FFLY)
Salary: £40,000 per annum

Fit For Life Youth (FFLY) is dedicated to empowering children and young people (CYP) aged 8–19 through dynamic, inclusive, and impactful youth services. We work across Kensington and Chelsea to provide safe spaces, engaging activities, and opportunities that help young people thrive.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Youth Hub Lead to oversee the delivery of high-quality youth hub services, primarily in Chelsea (World’s End and surrounding areas). This is a leadership role that combines strategic planning, hands-on delivery, and team management.

You will:

• Lead and manage youth hub operations across Chelsea and Lancaster Youth Hubs.
• Develop innovative programmes that reflect the voices and needs of young people.
• Manage a team of 5 Youth Workers and recruit volunteers.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local organisations, and stakeholders.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for youth hub services.
• Play an active role in income generation and fundraising to ensure sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and deliver a varied programme of youth activities, including holiday programmes, trips, and residentials.
• Champion FFLY’s values and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
• Represent FFLY at partnership meetings and deputise for the CEO when required.
• Monitor and report on service impact, ensuring funder requirements are met.

About You

• Experienced in managing youth services and leading teams.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in youth work leadership.

The core purpose is to inspire and grow a network of local volunteers, enabling them to champion their churches and organise events that foster community engagement. We are looking for someone who can inspire volunteers to cherish and take responsibility for their local church. Someone who can build relationships with our local communities and engage, support and grow our network of local volunteers.

We need someone who will work closely and enthusiastically with our small team to develop, encourage and enable community use of and care for our historic buildings.

Above all, we need an excellent communicator, and someone who can engender a collaborative working approach.

In supporting and developing our volunteering initiatives, we need someone who will be the organisation’s lead on health and safety, embedding best practice across all operations and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

The Volunteering & Community Officer plays a pivotal role in engaging and supporting volunteers to care for historic churches across England and Wales. The position may be full-time or split into two part-time roles, with flexible, home-based working and regular travel to sites.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of the role is to develop and foster long-term, multi-faceted relationships with people giving in memory, and deliver compassionate, personalised stewardship, so all supporters feel cared about and their gift is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use Salesforce (or similar CRM) to maintain and keep up to date all information and projects related to In Memory Giving and drawing on data insights, monitor performance, identify trends, opportunities for developments and support improvements to the care and long-term relationship with supporters.
• Use the Much Loved (or similar platform) to develop tributes and opportunities for further in memory dedications, event participation and increase financial donations. 
• Establish a communication process with funeral directors and keeping these records up to date on Salesforce.
• Much Loved to promote income generation keeping them as donors, repeating donations and taking part in events and dedications
• Ensure that all communications, across all mediums, reflect the values of the Fishermen’s Mission and our Christian ethos.
•  Working closely with the Digital Engagement Officer and the Digital Fundraising Officer to develop and promote In Memory Giving and storytelling via digital platforms
•  Work with the wider organisation including frontline staff to raise the profile of In Memory Giving (internally and externally) and providing information using both written and printed word to assist with conversations with clients and supporters.
• Provide reports and information as and when required by line manager.  
• Meet all targets and objectives as agreed with the line manager on an annual basis.
• Undertake training and networking opportunities, when and if required, to keep up to date with the wider charity sector.
• Work as part of the Business Development Team at all times, taking part in team events and projects and supporting other team members if required.

• Highly skilled in all forms of communication
• Experience of dealing with people either face to face, over the phone or via written communications

This is an exciting chance to gain a full year of hands-on experience working with a place-based funder. You will be learning how funding decisions are made and how grants are administered to create real impact in local communities. You’ll not only develop practical skills in project delivery and grant management, but also build a strong understanding of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector.

In addition to supporting grant administration, you will lead your own project from start to finish. This will involve conducting research, engaging with local organisations and sector leaders, and producing a clear, actionable plan that addresses a real need in the sector and how the Foundation can look to ease that need. You’ll have the autonomy to shape your project while receiving guidance and support from the Chief Executive and Grants and Programmes manager, giving you the perfect balance of independence and mentorship.

As part of this role, you will join the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine Leadership Programme, a nationally recognised initiative designed to nurture future leaders in the charity sector. You’ll be part of a cohort of 55 emerging leaders across the UK, benefiting from tailored training, mentoring, and peer support. This programme will help you develop your leadership potential, grow your confidence, and prepare you for future roles within the VCSE sector.

The SMCA, a small charity, runs a successful  community Hub.  We have a small staff team who deliver a range of exciting activities, events and projects.  We work hard to ensure that there is something on offer for everyone in the community and are constantly developing new and exciting programmes.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join us.  Experience in community development, working with children and young people or seniors is welcomed, but most importantly is willingness to get involved, confidence to lead on some activities and projects, flexibility - our days are often full of unforseen tasks/actions that need to be carried out.
