Salary: £26,994 – £28,922 dependent on experience

Main Purpose of Job

• To be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of our advice services via telephone, email/web, in person and at outreach venues.

• To line manage team leads, debt caseworkers and the energy adviser and support them in achieving high standards of accessible advice services.

• To oversee the use of our volunteer adviser resources to cover each of our advice channels in the most effective way.

• To liaise with the training lead to ensure we have sufficient, well trained volunteer advice resources to deliver our service.

• To ensure cover for Advice Session Supervisors when needed

• To provide training, guidance and support on client records, telephone channel and quality standards

• To design and implement improvements to our advice processes based on best practice, leading and gaining buy-in from team members as necessary.

• To be overall responsible for the quality of our advice in line with our Quality of Advice framework and IFR’s to drive the organisation towards excellence in quality.

• To be responsible for ensuring Debt technical supervision is in place and carry out continuous professional development activities and duties within the organisation.

• In maintaining quality, you will need to inspire and motivate your team and provide focussed individual support where necessary to achieve internal and external quality and KPI standards

• To drive a culture of continuous workforce development where a rigorous but supportive approach is adopted

• You will identify the best quality tools and execute investigations/analysis to improve workforce competency and quality across the organisation, and support our brand reputation

• Monitor and track performance progress of the service and of individuals against targets, achievement of deadlines and support staff as appropriate

• To undertake regular team meetings in line with the organisation’s quality expectations

• To undertake regular formal supervisions and review meetings

Research and Campaigns

• To ensure the advice team contribute to the development of social policy in line with our business plan

• To assist with social policy work as required by the organisation

Management duties

• You will be accountable and responsible for delivering the service delivery related objectives and outcomes from the organisation’s Business Plan and service-related KPIs.

• Prepare and issue reports as required for the CEO, funders and partners, attending meetings as required to present findings and recommendations 

Learning and professional development  

Keep up to date with legislation relevant to the role, trends, ideas and thinking

• Attend and actively participate in regular support and supervision sessions and appraisals with the Chief Executive Officer

• Identify own learning and development needs and plan to meet them.

Administration  

Ensure that detailed records for the purposes of information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation are maintained and developed

• Produce comprehensive, analytical and developmental oral and written reports on the work of the service as required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake advice work as required, including supporting contracts and projects outside of the generalist service.

• Support with the efficient and effective use of Casebook, gathering, storing and analysing data and contributing to the reporting processes for services, projects and contracts.

• Keep up to date with Citizens Advice aims, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed.

• Ensure that work reflects and supports the Citizens Advice service's equity, diversity and inclusion strategy.

• Develop and maintain effective admin systems and records relevant to the role.

• Act as key holder and open or close the building when necessary.

• Attend regular internal and external meetings relevant to the role and to services at outreach locations.

• Work cooperatively with colleagues and encourage good teamwork, clear lines of communication and common practices within the team.

• Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own health and safety and that of colleagues; taking particular account of this at outreach and shared locations.

• Identify own learning and development needs and take steps to address these.

• Carry out any other tasks within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.

• Ensure all data protection and GDPR requirements are adhered to in all work for which the post is responsible.

In addition you must be prepared to train up to do the following:

Debt Advice giving

• Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

• Use appropriate resources to find, interpret and communicate the relevant information to clients.

• Research and explore options and implications so that clients can make informed decisions.

• Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.

• Negotiate with third parties such as statutory and non-statutory bodies as appropriate.

• Ensure that all work conforms to the organisation’s office manual and the Advice Quality standard / other funding requirements, as appropriate.

• Ensure that work reflects and supports the Citizens Advice service’s equality and diversity strategy.

• Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.

• Take ownership for monitoring own workload e.g. proactively reviewing progress on current cases, outcome of completed cases and quality control.

• Be a DRO approved intermediary.

About the role

This role will be responsible for providing business support for the directorate to support effective leadership and streamlined ways of working across Income Generation. 

The postholder will support the operation of the Income Generation Leadership Team (IGLT) and assist in various aspects of organisational administration and development. It will support IGLT to define and shape priorities and support implementation of priority initiatives.  It will ensure that IGLT’s time is prioritised effectively on delivering the most critical priorities and that follow-up activities are completed.

This role will need to foster and develop credible and respected relationships with all key stakeholders including in other directorates – to ensure visibility and engagement on high priority programmes.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Provide business support to IGLT including: 
• Support for IGLT and Income Generation directorate meetings and follow-up 
• Support for business planning, projects, reviews and evaluations    
• Ensuring that all key reports for Income Gen directorate are efficiently delivered – with a particular focus at the moment on KPIs and quarterly reports for Exec, Board and internal audiences 
• Implement and monitor operational programmes, ensuring learning from past programmes of work is integrated.  
• Co-ordinate cross-directorate teams to ensure successful programme execution with timely delivery of initiatives and management of key dependencies.  
• Continually ensure risks to programmes of work are identified, assessed and mitigated.   
• Make sure robust controls are embedded and reported through regular monitoring systems.  
• Facilitate communication between teams to ensure transparency and alignment on operational goals. 
• Take responsibility for liaising with a wide range of stakeholders and contacts at all levels, on behalf of IGLT.

About Woman's Trust

The charity, established almost thirty years ago to meet the gap in specialist mental health services, is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. We supported 833 women and children last year, with a current income target of £1.25m (growing to £1.4m in 2026-2027) and 36 staff. The Generous Giving Manager is a very exciting and influential role at the Diocese, as you will build on the strong and energetic foundations within our two-person Generous Giving Team to strengthen the financial sustainability of local churches by encouraging generosity in time, talents and financial giving.

Working closely with deaneries, parishes and their leadership teams, you will identify local challenges and opportunities for generous giving, sharing innovative giving practices to help parishes and deaneries develop creative and effective ways to resource their mission.

Communicating clearly and inspiringly the principles of Christian giving to diverse audiences, you will keep up to date with National Church resources, promoting and supporting a wide range of giving methods such as the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), online and contactless giving. You will also offer guidance to parish officers for resources on giving campaigns, legacies and grant funding.

This is an ideal role for someone with a good understanding of church life, a passion for helping local churches thrive, a strong commitment to community engagement and an understanding of generosity grounded in Christian teaching.

With demonstrable experience in fundraising or parish ministry, you should bring an awareness of the financial and missional challenges facing churches today, particularly in rural contexts. 

With an understanding of the Church of England’s structures, ethos, and range of traditions, you will have the proven ability to plan, advise on and lead giving or fundraising programmes in a not-for-profit or charitable context. You should also have a clear understanding of the teaching which underpins the Christian principles of giving.

Your motivational and collaborative approach across a variety of settings, combined with your outstanding interpersonal skills and natural ability at rapport building will ensure you are able to generate and develop creative, solution-focused ideas, engaging and inspiring individuals and groups, both in person and online.

Typically, you will operate during office hours but will need to adjust your working pattern in order to meet with parishes in the evenings and/or occasionally attend their Sunday worship, so the ability to travel to remote locations and work flexibly is a necessity.

The Role

The Social Value Specialist will support SNG to embed impact measurement and social value into teams across the organisation, providing a central, efficient point of contact that leads on developing systems, processes and continuous service improvement.

You will engage with supply chain partners to ensure the delivery of social value in contracts and enable seamless customer service using digital platforms and relationships with community partners.

Connect with team members across the organisation to deliver impact reports and support in creating our annual ESG report.

The Social Value Specialist will report to the Social Value Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement a community investment evaluation and monitoring framework, in direct alignment with the community foundation strategy and strategy and the corporate plan
• Work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary community investment directorate and with other internal teams in the customer directorate across localities to embed a framework for social impact and outcomes recording
• Support the Social Value Manager to provide regular social impact and environmental social, governance (ESG) reporting to the communities' leadership team and to senior management and board when required
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation methods and processes for Community Foundation projects and roll out good practice to colleagues and external partners so we can effectively demonstrate our Social Impact
• Lead and support internal teams and external partners in the upload of data such as KPIs onto impact measurement platform for the business, ensuring that information is accurate and easily accessible when required
• Demonstrate strong project management skills to lead and oversee project teams across SNG and with external partners that will bring in external funding
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, businesses, local authorities and national agencies as required by the Head of Service and managers
• Work closely with the communications team to enable a coordinated communications approach that raises the profile of SNG's work in communities
• Prepare and present written, financial and statistical reports to internal and external bodies as required and ensure funders requirements are met

 What we need from you

A good understanding of HACT's Wellbeing Valuation and Social Value Insight would be an advantage, but this is not essential. It would be great if you have some knowledge or experience of working in communities, supply chains and or, monitoring and evaluation.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our South regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. This role is pivotal in leading on all business development and services-marketing activity to drive and increase brand awareness to ultimately generate referrals, whilst strengthening our position to be the provider of choice to support children with acquired brain injury and neurodisability across the UK and internationally.

You’ll work alongside a cross-organisational team to promote our services to external stakeholders, in particular managing our key account plan to influence, maximise referrals and income generating opportunities. Key to this is cultivating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including hospital-based clinicians, commissioners at both integrated care boards and local authorities, with professionals with NHS England at a regional and national levels, embassies, medico-legal professionals including case managers and lawyers.
