About the role

For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been at the forefront of supporting people with kidney disease. From our early days when we campaigned to introduce donor cards in the UK, we have worked hard to support and represent the interests of everyone affected by kidney disease.

We are looking for a passionate, talented Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our ambitious, successful Fundraising team that has been growing non-legacy income 34% year-on-year since 2021 as we approach our new 5 year fundraising strategy.

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio (target for this 12 months period is £378,000). There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with Senior Management Teams, other departments and stakeholders to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The successful candidate will utilise their expert writing skills to shape those cases for support into compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.

Building relationships with a wide range of audiences including funders is key. Inspiring them to support kidney patients across the UK and engage with the kidney community, enabling them to tell their stories and better communicate how larger trust grants can make a real difference for people with chronic kidney disease.

A dynamic, self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active fundraiser is required for this role, demonstrating enthusiasm for the projects and services we are seeking funds to support.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

You will have demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.

You will also have a background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders, individual/major donors and senior stakeholders.

Experience of providing excellent supporter care, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders is a must for this role.

Key responsibilities

Research and process management

• Work closely with our Director of Patient Support Services (Patient Grants, Hospital Grants, Advocacy and Counselling) to fully understand our work, and with our Director of Finance to fully understand the costs of delivering our work
• Build strong cases for support, ensuring that you have all the information needed to create compelling proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders
• Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies
• Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas
• Develop our long-term trusts and foundations strategy, and agree ongoing budgets and targets for this income stream
• Maintain accurate records including tracking and analysing opportunities, results, and outcomes

Fundraising 

• Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential to deliver five- and six-figure grants
• Work with colleagues across Kidney Care UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids for a range of short, medium and long term projects
• Develop relationships with the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
• Champion ways of working with the kidney community to enhance your fundraising approaches
• Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kidney Care UK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met

Reporting 

• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
• Alongside the Director of Finance prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
• Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities

The purpose of the role

The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The purpose of this role is to support the Director, Mass Markets by implementing the Retention strategy in order to generate long-term sustainable growth, cultivate a loyal and engaged donor base and maximise net revenue.

As Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for annual operational planning and delivery across for the retention programme, including for emergency appeals. You will work closely with the Director, Mass Markets to create and manage significant annual budgets, ensuring return on investment is maximised at all times. Supported by the Retention Marketing Executive, you will oversee all campaign activity, ensuring that it meets the strategic objectives and financial goals of the department.

You will be part of a department focused on excellence, with significant opportunity to lead on change and drive impact and growth.

Key accountabilities

Strategy and planning

• Support the Director, Mass Markets in the development and delivery of the retention strategy and priorities
• Identify, scope and deliver new and innovative opportunities that advance the retention strategy
• Manage retention operational planning, including leading annual, quarterly and monthly planning sessions, defining key deliverables and ensuring all activity supports the aims of the retention strategy
• Manage the monitoring and reporting framework to track performance against strategic objectives
• Identify and brief support requirements with internal and external partners in order to maximise activity and ensure the smooth running of back-office operations
• Build, manage and distribute a detailed marketing plan (refreshed quarterly) in line with strategic priorities and objectives, ensuring activities are co-ordinated, integrated and maximised with other Mass Market UK teams.

Budget management

• Manage segments of the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process, identifying opportunities for savings, additional investment, or budget reallocation
• Focus on maximising return on investment at all times, and make suggestions for contingency action as necessary to achieve budgeted income target
• Lead on tracking and reconciling retention income and expenditure budget lines, providing variance reporting to support the Director, Mass Markets regular financial reporting

Campaign management

• Oversee, plan and deliver multi-channel revenue and engagement campaigns, including emergencies, ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters
• Oversee the design and implementation of customer journeys across all segments and products, in order to increase loyalty, average value and product holdings
• Lead the development and management of the mid-level portfolio, including regular communications, donor events, and identification and development of prospects into active donating advocates of the IRC
• Oversee work to ensure it is completed to standard, on time and within budget and act as overflow support during peak times, such as emergencies
• Work closely with equivalent team members in other national markets (i.e. Korea, Germany, Sweden, US) and the Mass Market support team to ensure all activity is coordinated and maximised

Insight, analysis and data management

• Work closely with the Analytics team to identify and manage analytics requirements and to draw actionable insights from performance data
• Oversee and sign off detailed end of campaign reports, ensuring all relevant information is documented and used to inform future activity
• Monitor day-to-day metrics, identifying and acting on performance issues and opportunities

Leadership and management

• Line manage and develop the Retention Marketing Executive(s), ensuring performance objectives are managed throughout the year and opportunities for training, development and progression are identified and prioritised
• Work closely with other team members to increase connection across Mass Markets, with the ultimate aim of developing a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation
• Manage day-to-day relationships with external suppliers, ensuring performance is to standard and opportunities to drive value for money from existing and new suppliers are identified, and supporting with the preparation of quarterly business reviews, as required

General

• Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department/Service:

The finance department is responsible for the overall financial management and administration of the 4million turnover at GSU. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, including HMRC, Charities Commission, Companies House, and pensions. This includes supporting our annual external financial audit.

The finance team act as Business Partners to the rest of the organisation ensuring they understand financial processes to aid effective working. The team also work alongside our external payroll provider and our external digital system provider to ensure smooth and effective working.

Job Purpose:

Provide a professional, accurate, and timely accounting service in respect to all management and statutory reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external support services to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department, ensuring excellence in service delivery.

Reports to:

• Currently reporting to the CEO whilst the senior management role in the Finance Department is under review. The senior management post is currently vacant.

Responsible for:

• Supporting, managing, supervising, and developing one Finance Coordinator and one Finance Assistant.
• Temporary Interns and/or student staff supporting the Finance team as required

Duties and Key Responsibilities

1. Management and Statutory Reporting:

• Prepare accurate management accounts on a timely basis each month.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, including accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and submit statutory reports, including VAT Returns, Companies House, and Charities Commission Annual Returns.
• Support the preparation of the annual accounts for the external financial audit and play an instrumental role during the audit process.
• Reconcile GSU bank accounts including PayPal online accounts weekly and monthly.
• Reconcile Commercial Income to Bank Accounts producing weekly sales and analysis reports.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cashflow Statements:

• Support in the preparation of the annual budget and reforecasts.
• Create forecast reports and statements as and when required.
• Produce monthly and annual cashflow and liquidity statements.

3. Business Partnering and Collaboration:

• Act as a business partner to all GSU staff members, providing financial insights and support to meet organisational goals.
• Work alongside external support services (e.g., payroll providers and digital finance systems) to ensure smooth operations and excellence in the Finance department.
• Collaborate with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective financial management.

4. Managing and Supervisory Duties:

• Supervise and support the professional development of two GSU finance staff members.
• Foster a team culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Oversee the responsibilities of Finance Coordinator and Finance Administrator and ensure their tasks align with departmental goals.
• Supervise and support interns and student staff as appropriate.

5. Digital Systems and Processes:

• Maintain efficient digital finance systems and processes to streamline financial operations (Twinfield, Ezora & Basecone for example).
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of digital records and reporting systems.
• Evaluate and improve digital tools and workflows to enhance departmental efficiency.

6. General Finance Department Duties:

• Oversee and assist with sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll functions as needed.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Assistant to issue and maintain records of purchase orders and associated invoices.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Assistant to maintain and post all petty cash transactions.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and information for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Trustee Board, and other stakeholders as required.
• Respond proactively to financial queries from GSU staff.
• Support the ongoing review and development of Finance department systems and procedures.
• Maintain customer-facing systems and ensure smooth operations for Finance department stakeholders.

7. External Audit and Compliance:

• Prepare schedules and reconciliations for the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HMRC and Charities Commission guidelines.

The Senior Accounts Technician plays a key role within the financial accounts team, working in partnership with the Director of Finance and Governace to ensure the smooth operation of financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the design and strategic direction of our Digital Skills programme, Ensure the service we are providing is high-quality, impactful, trauma-informed and aligned with Screen Share’s 2026–2030 strategy.

• Oversee the onboarding and support of hundreds of refugees looking to develop digitally, including supporting with the development of their Independent Learning Plan’s and journeys through Digital Champions

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance with a global organisation, on a full-time, 2-year FTC basis. As Head of Finance, you will lead on strategic financial planning and financial day to day management to advance the charity’s business model, financial sustainability and growth.

As Head of Finance, you will:

- Lead on strategic financial planning and financial management to advance the organisation’s business model, financial sustainability, and growth through long-range financial projection and planning, maximisation of income, and strong financial reporting

- Ensure that financial planning feeds into the organisation’s work planning process and supports the strategic objectives of the organisation

- Develop and maintain effective financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, production of quarterly management accounts, preparation of annual statutory accounts, and preparation of financial reports to funders, potential funders, and the Board of Trustees

- Manage compliance with UK and overseas legal, statutory accounting and regulatory requirements, including signing off on all statutory filings as required by the Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC and the Pension Regulator

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be ACA/ACCA/CCAB/CIMA fully qualified

- Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK charity statutory requirements e.g., SORP, Charity Accounting, IFRS/IAS

- Have significant all-round accounting, financial management, full grants cycle management, compliance, risk and financial sustainability experience, likely gained in an international charity, e.g. working in a multi-currency environment

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

As the leading specialist mental health charity for women who have experienced domestic abuse, Woman’s Trust’s mission is to help survivors to overcome the devastating mental health impact of domestic abuse.

We are seeking a Counselling Manager to lead our clinical services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced therapeutic professional to combine clinical practice with leadership, safeguarding, and project management.

About Woman's Trust

The charity, established almost thirty years ago to meet the gap in specialist mental health services, is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from trauma. We supported 833 women and children last year, with a current income target of £1.25m (growing to £1.4m in 2026-2027) and 36 staff. We are committed to a positive, inclusive and equitable environment for our staff, service users and volunteers.

You will be joining the Woman’s Trust Fundraising team as we work towards our strategy 2022-2027, to double our income and the number of women we support each year. Alongside delivering our existing 1-1 counselling, self-development workshops and therapeutic support groups for women who have experienced domestic abuse, we are focused on developing our innovative mental health services for young women and girls, delivering new peer-led support groups and providing therapeutic groups to children and their mothers. We are also committed to developing further awareness-raising workshops and training for professionals, building on our research and policy to improve systems nationally.

About you and how to apply

As a skilled and compassionate counselling manager, aligned with our feminist ethos and the needs of our service users, you will bring experience in leading counselling services, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support for women affected by domestic abuse. You will have experience in managing counsellors and/or volunteers, providing clinical supervision, and ensuring best practice across service delivery. You will be able to oversee the full cycle of service management, including monitoring outcomes, safeguarding, and compliance, while also contributing to service development and innovation in line with our strategic priorities.
