The African Gifted Foundation (AGF) exists to develop Africa's future STEM leaders by supporting gifted young women to access world-class education. Our flagship project, the African Science Academy (ASA) in Ghana, is a fully-scholarshipped boarding school focused on mathematics and physics, with students drawn from across Africa.
We're at a pivotal moment. Having grown to circa £1 million in annual income, we're ready to scale our impact. We are embarking on an exciting new initiative to build a new campus and double the size of our school over the next couple of years. We need an exceptional fundraising leader to help us get there.
The Opportunity
As Head of Fundraising, you'll be a key member of our senior leadership team, shaping strategy and driving income growth to transform opportunities for hundreds more young African women in STEM.
In your first year, you'll:
- Take ownership of our £1m fundraising portfolio and develop a clear growth strategy
- Deepen relationships with our existing major donors, trusts and corporate partners
- Identify and secure at least 3-5 significant new funding partnerships
- Build robust systems for pipeline management, donor stewardship and impact reporting
- Work closely with our Executive Director and Board to align fundraising with our ambitious expansion plans

What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and deliver a compelling fundraising strategy aligned with AGF's growth ambitions
- Set ambitious but achievable income targets and manage performance against them
- Provide clear metrics, insights and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board
- Identify opportunities for income diversification and risk mitigation
Major Donor & Partnership Management
- Manage and grow our portfolio of major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners
- Personally cultivate and steward high-value relationships
- Identify and pursue new funding prospects through research and networking
- Develop compelling cases for support tailored to different donor segments
Operational Excellence
- Establish and maintain effective systems for pipeline management, CRM and donor tracking
- Ensure excellent donor stewardship, reporting and compliance with all funder requirements
- Create compelling donor materials and impact reports, working collaboratively with communications, programmes and finance teams
- Take responsibility for collecting compelling impact data, including through liaising with alumni
- Build efficient processes that support both immediate delivery and long-term growth
Representation & Advocacy
- Represent AGF at donor meetings, events and in philanthropic networks (UK and occasionally international)
- Act as an ambassador for our mission and impact
- Build AGF's profile within the UK and international education funding community
Who You Are
Essential Experience & Skills
✓ Proven track record of strategic fundraising in the UK charity sector, with demonstrable success in securing five-figure+ gifts from trusts, foundations and major donors
✓ Relationship builder with excellent ability to engage, persuade and steward high-value donors at senior levels (trustees, HNWIs, corporate decision-makers)
✓ Strategic thinker who can develop compelling fundraising strategies and turn them into practical action plans with measurable results
✓ Portfolio manager experienced in managing multiple major donor relationships simultaneously and building a robust pipeline
✓ Excellent communicator in writing and speaking - confident presenting to trustees, corporates and philanthropic audiences
✓ Organized & commercially aware with ability to manage budgets, set targets and deliver against KPIs
✓ Self-starter comfortable working in a lean organization, building processes, and collaborating across teams

Highly Desirable

Since we were established 65 years ago as a shortwave radio ministry much has changed with big shifts in technology, missiology and geopolitics.

The post holder will lead the local charity – which over the last 8 years has grown considerably, in terms of staffing, income and projects (including food pantry and café, football training and teams, a wide range of adult education, advice and support, an array of community classes and holiday provision).

Key responsibilities
This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the local charity, ensuring the youth and community work supports the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Academy Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.
Some of the specific duties of this role include:
· Establishment and coordination of a range of provision such as family support, holiday clubs, volunteering and community empowerment projects.

You will support the work of the Trust Company and Synod in all matters of compliance with Company and Charity legislation, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Trust and Synod offices. As Finance Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with Amit Sharma (Artistic Director/ CEO) and Iain Goosey (Executive Director), supporting them as they lead Kiln Theatre through a period of transition and growth. Main Purpose of Role:
The Programme Support and Administrative Officer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of CFAB’s programmes and organisational functions. The Role

We are looking for an ambitious, passionate and confident individual to join our charity. An integral role, you will provide operational, administrative, account management and customer service support and build and maintain long-term relationships with our charity supporters
To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be an ambitious individual, with the skills to work in a
fast-paced environment. You’ll be required to:
• Manage accounts and registrations, successfully motivating and inspiring supporters
to increase the charity’s total number of annual eventers. Responding to all inbound
enquiries in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the Challenge Events Manager to deliver flagship events such as the
Great Run Series, overseeing up to three third-party events per year.
• Monitor digital fundraising challenge participant groups, managing admin processes
through GivePanel and JustGiving and coordinating with fulfilment partners to ensure
supporters receive their fundraising packs on time.
• Support the wider public fundraising team with administration tasks such as dispatching
fundraising materials, processing personal data, maintaining donor records on Salesforce
and working with the Supporter Services Team to create, monitor, improve and
automate excellent supporter care journeys.
• Plan and deliver risk assessments, logistics, income and expenditure, account
reconciliation and evaluations to shape future recommendations and continuously
improve effectiveness.
• Attend supporter or charity-organised fundraising events, always acting as a proud and
inspiring ambassador for the charity.
• Build and maintain relationships with key supporters, utilising the Fundraising Hub to
communicate information about the impact of the charity and the changing fundraising
needs.
• Maximise all opportunities with supporters and potential fundraisers, using persuasive
and motivational skills to drive support for the charity on a long-term basis.
• Lead on the creation of event content for the charity website and social media platforms
with support from the wider events team and Marketing and Communications Team.
• Input into existing and future plans for data capture, making updates and additions
to policies and procedures, being responsible for developing and meeting a range of
performance KPIs.
• Support with key strategic projects to ensure the charity’s sustainable income growth
and impact within the hospital

As Community Programmes Coordinator you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating Affiliated Societies membership to ensure members have a positive experience and continue their relationship with the RHS.
- Providing administrative support to the Britain in Bloom Federation
- Working with the Community Programmes Officer to research, plan and organise the Britain in Bloom UK Finals competition judging.
- Organising and supporting National Community Programmes online or in-person events, network meetings and services.
- Providing administrative support to the National Community Programmes team to ensure programmes are delivered.
About you
You will be able to show:
- An enjoyment of working in secretarial and administrative settings including collating data, organising meetings, scheduling diaries and answering general enquiries.
- An interest and experience of planning and making travel and accommodation bookings.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating excellent time management, prioritisation, and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to engage with different audiences.
- Adept interpersonal skills, with experience of building external relationships and collaborating with a wide range of contacts.
- The ability to work as an integral member of a small, high-performing team, and to work collaboratively and with agility across the team and the wider organisation.
