The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

They will lead a senior management team of three (the Operations Manager, Funding and Communications Manager and Advocacy Manager).They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on governance best practice across all aspects of the charity.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

•  Develop concept notes and proposals, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with Girls Not Brides’ priorities and with donor requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, work plans, and other supporting materials for grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Support in monitoring grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accountability.

Donor cultivation and stewardship

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors to expand Girls Not Brides’ network and strengthen collaborations. 
   

Fundraising strategy

• Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify and increase Girls Not Brides’ funding base, in alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.

Role:The Senior Development Officer ​plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). • Develop and implement strategic plans for Direct Dialogue fundraising

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be at the front line of human rights research and advocacy, working for a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• To plan, organise and undertake research, monitoring and reporting on freedom of religion or belief and related human rights issues in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia , through regular fact-finding assignments, when and where security conditions allow, meetings with key stakeholders and the development of reliable in-country and external partnerships and collaboration.
• To produce materials, including briefings, reports, documenting and analysing the situation of freedom of religion or belief and human rights in the agreed countries, as well as advocacy recommendations.
• To develop and implement, with oversight from the Asia Team Leader and in close consultation with other key members of staff , an effective and innovative advocacy strategy for the agreed countries, taking into account the regional perspective.
• To undertake advocacy with a focus at local (when possible) and regional levels, including ASEAN, and, in consultation with the Asia Team Leader, work with CSW’s Public Affairs Team to inform advocacy initiatives in the UK, EU, US and with other governments, the United Nations and other forums.
• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations from or in relation to the agreed countries.

The Person

A committed Christian with a university degree and a strong commitment to human rights and justice, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to take the initiative and to work well under pressure.

Essential criteria (full criteria listed in the application pack):

· Knowledge and experience of the East Asia region.

· In-depth knowledge and experience of issues relating to freedom of religion or belief in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia 

· Proven research skills, and good understanding of basic methodologies for human rights research.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· If based in the UK you must have the right to reside and work in the United Kingdom

I disseminate our messages and information to key audiences through clear and engaging social media posts that are tailored for different networks. I monitor the performance of our posts and I am proactive in incorporating best practice to ensure that our posts are well received by our audiences, and that our presence on our social media channels grows.

I regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, and the other founding charities of Mental Health UK, and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.

Trust and foundations

• Update the trusts and foundations database and managing the pipeline of activity
• Prepare tailored applications to trusts and foundations
• Manage reporting deadlines to funders
• Work closely with the artistic teams and Executive Director to shape proposals
• Create budgets working with the Executive Director, Finance Director, Artistic Directors and Project Leads 

Individual and Corporate Giving

• Create individual giving schemes, exploring the potential for new initiatives such as membership and legacy programmes
• Cultivate relationships with potential individuals and steward donors
• Research potential corporate supporters – both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship
• Pitch to potential donors and supporters

Event Planning

• Create a programme of cultivation events which could:

Ideal candidates will have skills and experience as shown in the candidate pack including:

• Evidence of alignment with charity’s vision, mission, values and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

• Understanding and experience of performing arts landscape, key figures, organisations and funders.

• Fundraising track record, delivering against targets (in a similar sized arts or not-for-profit) and of securing significant donations at the five-figure level or more.

• Thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues and fundraising obligations of arts charities/Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations.

• Proactive approach to continuing professional development.
• Experience of dealing with public sector organisations at a senior level.
• Membership of relevant educational and/or professional bodies.
