•  Access – the Foundation for Social Investment works to make sure that charities and social enterprises can access the finance they need to sustain or grow their impact.
• You will be part of a small organisation of around 15 people that take a flexible, collaborative and trust-based approach to work.
• Working closely with the Head of Blended Finance and the wider Programme team you will act as an integral support function for colleagues but also build good relationships with our external partners, supporting their engagement with Access.

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

Programme Support:

• Present analysis and insights based on performance data and any contact with delivery partners to inform decisions within the team about ongoing relationships.
• Support the writing of papers for the Investment Committee and other committees including the Access Board, to present clear information to support understanding and decision-making.
• Help to organise, manage and minute internal and external meetings and events, including peer learning workshops.
• Assist with keeping Programmes pages of the Access website up to date.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of a bank of practical resources for use by our partners
• Other programme support duties as required.

Finance:

• Ensure robust financial management of Access’s programmes, including monitoring deployment targets of social investors and supporting the process for drawing funds from Access.

Relationship management:

•  Become one of the day-to-day points of contact for a portfolio of organisations who are delivering or supporting Access’s programmes, or in the process of applying to do so. These may include social investors, grant partners or other stakeholders.
• Build strong productive and supportive working relationships with delivery partners, in a spirit of collaboration and learning.
• Maintain comprehensive and clear records of the status of the relationship and any key questions or issues which are currently being addressed.

Data and learning:

• Support the acquisition and collation of regular performance data submissions
• Support the analysis and reporting on performance within each delivery partner and across the portfolio.

Other tasks:

• Leading on or supporting the delivery of internal and external events
• Contributing to learning and programme design discussions

The Person:

The charity offers a flexible working environment, working from their London office 2 days per week.

We are looking for a highly organised and confident Supporter Care Officer to administer and provide an excellent supporter care service for the Fundraising team.
You will be the first point of contact for prospective and existing supporters, helping with enquiries, taking donations, reassuring concerns and ensuring supporters have a positive experience with every contact and interaction they have. You will be confident working independently and will use your own judgement to solve problems and communicate with a wide range of our supporters and donors – and guiding them to key information, quickly and clearly, using offline and online channels.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Responsible for providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for prospective and current supporters who contact the charity by telephone, mail, or email.
• Deal with enquiries, concerns, or complaints about fundraising activities, diplomatically and sensitively, taking responsibility for following up with clear, accessible and relevant information.
• Send out thank you letters and welcome packs promptly and within agreed time frames, to ensure all supporters, especially new donors, regular givers and legacy pledgers, feel valued and motivated to keep donating.
• Use own initiative to thank our mid-value donors and legacy pledgers personally where possible, in accordance with our stewardship plans.
• Proactively suggest improvements to our supporter stewardship strategy and working with the Individual Giving Manager to implement these.
• Use Raiser’s edge/ RE NXT, our customer relationship management database, with accurate data entry for all enquiries, updating customers’ addresses, contact preferences and all other admin needs.

Person Specification:
 

• Have a good standard of IT skills and computer literacy specifically relating to MS office packages, database/ CRM systems and the recording or inputting of data.
• Experience of providing excellent customer service, ideally within charity fundraising.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills a good level of confidence, diplomacy, and empathy, especially on the telephone.
• Well organised and able to manage and prioritise workload, to meet deadlines.
• Able to use own judgement and take the initiative to introduce new ideas to improve service.
• Demonstrates ability to make decisions on enquiries, including escalating complex issues when needed.
• Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, with an understanding of processes and protocols to protect data and uphold GDPR.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable talking to people of all backgrounds.

Across 14 Houses nationwide, the charity provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation and vital support for families with a child in hospital, enabling over 530 families per night to support their children when they are needed most. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to design and deliver a major donor strategy that will secure transformational gifts, support capital projects, and build a high-performing Capital Appeal Board. You’ll play a leading role in cultivating and stewarding high-net-worth individuals, shaping compelling cases for support, and driving long-term philanthropic growth.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and deliver a high-value major donor strategy to meet ambitious income targets.
• Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
• Personally solicit significant five- and six-figure gifts.

• Support and develop a Capital Appeal Board to leverage networks and unlock transformational gifts.

The Safer Futures programme supports people as they rebuild their lives following some of the most challenging experiences in life. This includes people navigating the criminal justice system, survivors of domestic abuse, and people seeking refuge and safety in the UK through migration. The foundation fund work that provides direct support, we also back work that challenges and improves the systems surrounding them, systems that too often fail to provide stability, dignity or security.

This Grants Manager role is focused on refugees and people seeking asylum and navigating migration, as part of the Safer Futures programme.

For refugees and people seeking asylum, the journey to safety and stability is often met with enormous barriers. Even after gaining refugee status, many have just days to secure housing, income, and support. Without it, they risk homelessness, exploitation and exclusion.

We fund organisations that help people move from arrival to independence—through safe housing, legal advice, language support, education and pathways into work. We also invest in systemic change, supporting work that seeks to make the immigration and resettlement system fairer and more effective.

The Role
As a Grants Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering funding that makes a lasting difference. You will assess applications, play a key part in decision-making, and build strong relationships with organisations across the refugee and migration sector. You will carry out policy research, deepen your sector knowledge, and visit funded organisations to learn directly from their work. You will also help us refine and improve our approach to grant making, ensuring our funding is as impactful as possible.

The Candidate
We are looking for someone who has experience in impactful grant making and who deeply understands the UK migration policy landscape and the challenges facing refugees and people seeking asylum. You will be an excellent writer and communicator, able to make a persuasive case for funding decisions. You will have a collaborative approach to grant making and value the role of networks and partnerships in achieving change. You will think systemically, recognising how funding can help shift systems, and you will be confident analysing the financial health of organisations to inform effective grant making. The successful candidate will be solution focused and committed to using their expertise in the migration field to contribute to the impact of the foundation.
