You'll work as part of one of many teams, which focus on engaging our supporters and ensuring they continue to give their support. You will do this by leading high value fundraising events and managing relationships with volunteer committees.

The varied role sits within the Volunteer Board Fundraising team which leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards, volunteer-led fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event committees. These activities play a vital role in maximising sustainable income, engaging senior volunteers, and supporting long-term supporter relationships.

Job purpose

· To contribute to the Income Generation / Engagement and Fundraising department’s purpose of maximising income from potential and current supporters through project managing specific events including securing sponsorship and providing committee support 

· To support in the delivery of the agreed departmental strategy, goals and fundraising budget

· To work effectively with other departments in Income Generation / Engagement and Fundraising and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children

· To keywork supporters and build excellent relationships with key stakeholders who take responsibility for delivering income through high level fundraising events

· To ensure our events are delivered to a consistently high standard, and bring in new, innovative ideas so we remain competitive in the sector

Key relationships - Internal

Main duties and responsibilities

· To successfully manage and deliver large-scale events and special projects within the portfolio of events, overseeing all event logistics and relationship management

· To lead on specific fundraising projects and large-scale events, and support development of Executives through your projects 

· Contribute to and deliver particular aspects of the department’s annual business plan and budget. To support project groups for the Special Events team to improve processes and identify new opportunities 

· To manage and develop relationships with senior volunteers and potential supporters through effective and regular communication

· To proactively seek out opportunities to add value to the team and wider organisation

· To develop and create engaging materials for events and stakeholders

· To act as experts in our field by offering support and expertise both internally and externally

NSPCC are the UK’s leading children’s charity, committed to ending cruelty to children and ensuring every childhood is safe and supported. The Financial Accounting & Control Manager will report into the Head of Central Finance and lead a team of four, overseeing primary ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts production, tax compliance, and treasury management. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness and technical compliance across financial processes, while providing high-quality financial advice and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.

They undertake ground-breaking research, campaign for change, and run two free helplines providing support and advice: Childline (for children and young people) and Helpline (for adults seeking advice). The key duties of this Financial Accounting & Control Manager will be:

• Lead the production of consolidated statutory accounts for NSPCC and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with SORP and accounting standards.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce internal financial controls to ensure integrity of ledger and reporting.
• Manage VAT, direct tax, and corporate tax compliance, including planning, returns, and negotiations with HMRC.
• Oversee cash flow monitoring and treasury management, including investment and banking relationships.
• Critically evaluate and improve financial processes, documenting procedures and ensuring adherence across the team.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead and develop a team of Financial Accountants and Finance Officers, ensuring workload management and staff development.

The successful candidate will have:

• A CCAB-qualified accountancy qualification with experience in a complex financial environment.
• Experience producing consolidated statutory accounts and managing external audits, ideally within the charity sector.
• Proven experience in implementing, documenting, and enforcing financial controls.
• Experience managing, developing, and motivating a small team.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to convey financial information to non-finance colleagues.

Experience of stakeholder management both internal and external; and designing and delivering complex analysis and evaluations is required.

With one direct report, we require a seasoned manager / lead and the person applying should also have proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python) for advanced data analysis and modelling (e.g. logic models, theory of change and other evaluation models), and experience in using survey tools and software for data collection and analysis.

Founded in 1982, Galop has been championing the safety of the LGBT+ community for over 40 years. The charity works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. They run four national support helplines: for victims and survivors of domestic abuse, survivors of so-called “conversion therapy”, survivors of rape and sexual violence, and LGBT+ people who have experienced hate crime. They are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of the community are at the centre of what they do.

This role is offered on a full-time permanent contract basis paying a salary between £41,534 to £44,749 (including Inner London Weighting of £4,009) per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their London office.

The charity started investing in Individual Giving in October 2023, with some key foundation building and early fundraising activity having taken place since then. This role aims to develop and secure a diverse range of funding streams to deliver their ambitious fundraising growth plans over the next 3 years. The post holder will work with the Head of Fundraising and Comms to grow their income from individuals, to ensure the long-term stability of the charity, helping them to deliver support to as many victims and survivors of abuse as possible.

About the Service

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.

The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.  They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.

About the Role

In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and psychologically informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.

Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.

The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.

As a Senior, you will need strong case management and the knowledge and confidence to advise others as you will often be in roles that involve supporting other staff members in their risk management and also career development. Your placements may involve partnership working and process development.

You will line manage up to three Peri employees in this role, so we are looking for someone ready to step in to a leadership role but training is available to develop these skills.

You will be a great addition to the Peri Team if you embrace change, have a growth mindset, and are comfortable working independently. Although peri workers are dispersed across different services, the team offers regular opportunities to connect with fellow peri colleagues.

Customer Service
