Key requirements for this role:

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Innovation:

• Design and deliver a fundraising strategy that scales ProVeg’s income from major donors, climate (and other relevant) foundations, and institutional funders.
• Identify and pursue new revenue streams aligned with our climate and food system mission.
  Collaborate with leadership to strengthen our theory of change, donor engagement frameworks, and funding cases.

Donor & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, corporate contacts and strategic partners.

Team Leadership & Development:

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of senior-level fundraising experience, ideally with major donors and foundations in the US and/or Europe.
• Proven track record of securing six-figure + gifts, including new donor acquisition and multi-year commitments.
• Deep understanding of the climate philanthropy and/or food system transformation space.
• Experience working in international NGOs or with cross-country fundraising collaboration.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills across sectors and cultures.

We’re looking for someone who wants to join our busy charity to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives. Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Manager (Grants & Trusts) will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy focused on trusts, foundations, and statutory grants. • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of regular and annual giving activities.
• Prepare and manage detailed plans for the execution of appeals including digital, direct mail and/or personal solicitations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure rigorous gift management administrations systems and accurate maintenance of prospect data.
• Manage follow-up action when pledges and gifts are received including ensuring that supporters are appropriately recognised and stewarded.
• Conduct data analysis to understand donor behaviour and prevailing themes and trends and develop data driven annual giving strategies.
• Support fundraising strategy through the implementation of strong support systems, and day-to-day administrative practices. 
• Ensure all fundraising activities undertaken in support of the College are performed to the highest standards and in accordance with best practice as established by professional bodies such as CASE, IDPE and the Institute for Fundraising. 
• Ensure that all activities comply fully with the relevant Data Protection and any other legislation in the UK and overseas.
• Work with external stakeholders, volunteers, and other supporters to maximise their relationships and networks. 
• Produce timely, relevant, and accurate reports on progress and projections on all development activities. 
• Maintain knowledge of best practice in fundraising and related matters, refreshing skills as necessary 
• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Director of Development and Executive Director of Communications, Engagement and Development. 
• Support the delivery of the College’s charitable vision, by attending events and presentations and acting as a strong ambassador for Eton.

We are now seeking an experienced and values-driven Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations, support our investment strategy, and contribute to the continued success and integrity of the Trust. 

You’ll be a strategic thinker with excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in the charitable sector. A confident communicator and collaborative team player, you’ll work closely with the Director, Trustees, investment advisers, and grant partners to ensure our finances are expertly managed.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead our finances: Manage day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting using cloud-based systems (we currently use SAGE).
• Be our financial steward: Ensure compliance with charity accounting standards and act as the main point of contact for auditors, HMRC, banks and other relevant authorities.
• Plan with clarity: Prepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts and annual financial statements, and support financial planning with timely insights and analysis.
• Support our grant making: Oversee grant payments, maintain accurate records and assess applicant financials when required.
• Steer our investments: Work closely with the Director, Finance Committee, and investment advisers to monitor our portfolio, implement strategy and track performance.
• Enable change: Review and develop our financial systems to ensure they are robust, efficient and fit for purpose.

What you'll bring:

• Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4 – or equivalent experience.
• Charity finance expertise: Strong understanding of charity accounting (SORP) and the regulatory environment.

We are looking for an ambitious and autonomous individual to develop, deliver and grow our long-term regional corporate fundraising programme.

The key aim of the role is to secure new corporate partnerships which will both contribute to Canal & River Trust’s core mission of Keeping Canals Open & Alive and help companies to achieve their own Corporate Social Responsibility goals.

You will work with businesses and organisations across Wales and the South West to secure support for work and projects that further our charitable objectives.  You will be focussed on securing unrestricted income or restricted funding towards work within annual business plans.

You will be able to use your skills and expertise in corporate/charitable fundraising to help shape the projects and initiatives to help achieve your targets, with the key focus areas outlined below:

• prospecting new corporate partners, identifying new growth opportunities that match our charitable objectives, developing cultivation plans to build partnerships
• stewarding relationships to ensure that our corporate partners feel valued and connected to the Trust’s objectives
• identifying and shaping packages of sponsorship and support, ensuring consistency with other regions and the national Fundraising Directorate
• Working with colleagues in the regional team to identify and shape regional projects, writing funding applications to local corporate foundations within Wales and South West, working alongside the regional delivery team to track progress and help with forecasting, reporting back to funders

Location: This role will be offered on a remote home-working basis with a requirement to attend our Gloucester hub for team meetings and collaborative working with colleagues.
