About The Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute towards Poppyscotlands annual Poppy Appeal?
We are looking for a Temporary Driver Mate to join us for our Poppy Appeal 2025, helping us deliver one of the nation’s most recognised and important fundraising campaigns. This is a vital role supporting our work during the busy appeal period, ensuring that materials and resources reach the right places at the right time.

In addition, we’re looking for a casual drivers mate who can support us on a flexible basis throughout the year. By joining us on a casual contract, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved beyond the Poppy Appeal, helping us deliver across a range of activities and events whenever extra support is needed.

Duties will include:

- Delivering and collecting poppies and tins to and from shops and businesses across Greater Glasgow area
- Delivering and uplifting bulk orders to and from volunteer Area Organisers in and around Glasgow and other areas of West Scotland.
- Coordinating selected Poppy Appeal collection activities at various venues in central Glasgow 20th October – 11th November
- Communicating with volunteers and outlets in a positive and friendly manner
- Collecting in monies and excess stock after Remembrance period from the outlets delivered to

The Poppy Appeal Drivers will have the following essential attributes:

- Full, Clean UK Driving Licence with experience of driving a transit van
- Physically able to lift and carry
- Trustworthy and reliable
- A flexible approach to the unique and unpredictable needs of the Poppy Appeal
- A good communicator, who will portray a positive, friendly image to staff and the public
- A team player who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team
- A good geographic knowledge of Glasgow and the surrounding area
- Empathy to the work of our charity

Any offer of employment will be subject to usual pre-employment checks including a PVG check.
This role will see you working directly to the Poppy Appeal Organiser. Basic contract of 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9.00 am-4.30pm, with the commitment to flex hours up or down depending on business needs. Ad hoc weekend working required and you will have the ability to work on Saturday October 25th, November 1st and 8th November 2025.
