The People & Culture Advisor role will work closely to support the Head of People Culture & Place (PC&P) to deliver the PC&P strategy.  You will provide efficient and effective management of Human Resources (HR) services and ensure Stewardship’s values and culture are woven into all areas of our people activities.

You will be a collaborative, team player with the ability to work under pressure and deliver outcomes to tight deadlines with exceptional project management skills.  Experience of working with telemarketing or similar agencies to drive revenue is desirable, but not essential, as is experience with legacy marketing and gaming products and a familiarity with digital marketing / fundraising, and email automation tools. Knowledge of care sector fundraising, local authority funding and HMRC Gift aid processes would also be an advantage.

Role description

As our philanthropy coordinator, you will play a key role in building new partnerships with philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals, with an immediate focus on the UK, US, and Europe. You will design and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a robust portfolio of individual donors, Family Foundations, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other personal giving vehicles. 

A proactive and thoughtful relationship builder, you will maintain long-term relationships and lead bold strategies to engage new audiences, including millennial and next-generation philanthropists. You will steward Open Briefing’s first global development board, working closely with our CEO and director of development to engage members around a dynamic programme of activities designed to make Open Briefing more fundable and findable. 

Together with our director of development, you will drive forward a multi-year fundraising strategy to resource our work with activists and organisations on the frontlines of human rights, social justice, and environmental action. 

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Designing and executing our philanthropy fundraising strategy. Lead a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) —including through Donor Advised Funds, Family Offices, Family Foundations, and other giving vehicles—with an immediate focus on the US, UK and Europe. 

• Prospecting and donor acquisition. Manage HNWI prospecting, generate new leads, develop solicitation plans, brief senior leadership in advance of meetings, and coordinate cultivation and networking opportunities.

• Stewardship and relationship management. Build strong relationships with existing and potential donors through tailored stewardship plans designed to grow income over time. Manage donor tracking and communication systems. 

• Nurture and grow our development board - Work alongside our director of development and CEO to identify and engage members and steward the Board through a 12-month action-orientated development campaign. 

• Budget Management. Manage a programme budget for cultivation and stewardship events and activities.

• Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with our communications coordinator, director of development and programme teams in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing online and in-person events.

• Team support. As a key member of our development and communications team, undertaken other duties as reasonably requested relevant to team and organisational goals. 

Person specification 

Essential 

• You will have extensive experience managing a HNWI or major gift portfolio. 

• You will have a proven track-record of personally securing four, five, or six-figure donations from HNWI and/or major gift donors in the UK, US and/or Europe. 

• You will have experience working within a nonprofit focused on human rights, social justice, and/or environmental action. 

• You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including English language skills, both spoken and written. 

• You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and board members to support fundraising activities. 

• You will have an ability to work both strategically and operationally.

• You will have creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable

• You may have experience working within a global nonprofit. 

• You may have knowledge of the human rights, social justice, environmental justice, and/or international development funding landscape.

Terms and remuneration

Maggie’s is on an exciting journey, as we continue our mission to grow income, awareness, and impact through our corporate partnerships. Over the last 5 years we’ve doubled our income from national corporate partnerships, but we know there is so much more we can do. That’s why we’re looking for an experienced Corporate Partnerships Manager, with exceptional communication skills to join our ambitious and friendly team.

It’s an exciting time to be joining Maggie’s, as we continue to open new centres across the UK. Over the last year we’ve brought on new partnerships with leading companies, such as Howden and Scotmid.

The Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser is a key role in our fundraising team and has two key aims: 

• Driving significant income growth from corporate partnerships, by taking Maggie’s national partnership proposition to businesses to meet ambitious but achievable targets.  
• Delivering and growing key partnerships with support from the other members of the Corporate Partnerships and Centre Fundraising Teams. 

In order to achieve these aims, two other key elements of the job will be: 

• Supporting with the development and delivery of corporate collateral and engagement tools to steward existing partners and attract new ones – such as webinars and networking events.
• Supporting Centre Fundraisers to grow partnership income from companies of all sizes and will assist in the development of engagement initiatives to cultivate new and existing supporters – for example by leading on our Christmas Corporate Appeal. 

Although this is an office based role, a typical week will involve travel to corporate offices and other Maggie's locations.  There will be a requirement to work occasional irregular hours.

Role Overview

As a member of the Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet the charity’s strategic objectives. Specifically, they will lead projects and programmes to deliver improvements in quality and standards of health services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. In doing so, they will work closely with not only the  Director of Services & Evidence and Heald of Health Services, but also external stakeholders including health and social care organisations, academics, researchers and other charities.  The post-holder will also be actively involved in leading, supporting and developing the Health Services team.

About You

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of delivering health service projects and programmes and have come from a health services or medical charity background. You will be adept at developing operational performance metrics, strategies and objectives and have a proven track record in developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders. Whilst not essential, experience of managing and leading a team would be beneficial, as would be an awareness and knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. You will be required to attend two Directorate days each year and occasional face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Are you passionate about building relationships with supporters and working with communities to generate income for a great cause? If so, we are looking for a highly organised and dynamic individual who can help get the most out of this key and fast-growing area of income for Brooke.

The Community Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in our Legacy and Community Engagement Team. You will be responsible for helping to grow our network of community groups and key individuals. In order to do this, you will provide first-class stewardship to some of our most enthusiastic and engaged supporters, helping them to organise locally and maximising income. You will also be Brooke’s representative at an exciting range of virtual and in-person events, promoting our cause and encouraging further support.

All of this work will be underpinned by scrupulous planning and a keen focus on income and expenditure across the programme. You will work with the Community, Events and Stewardship Manager to ensure we can deliver on our ambitious 5-year strategy.

You will have excellent people skills and a passion for animal welfare that can match some of our most loyal supporters. You will also have strong business awareness and keep an eye on return on investment at all times.

Role Overview

This role contributes to the delivery of the key objectives of the Marketing and Communications team:

• To increase awareness of Global Fund for Children’s work (the number of people who ‘see’ and ‘think’ about our work).
• To increase the number of opted-in email subscribers.
• To convert supporters from people who ‘do’ (follow us on social media, sign up to the mailing list) to people who ‘care’ (fundraise, donate, take an action, share and create user-generated content).

You will be responsible for creating high quality, engaging and original content for various channels, including reels, carousels and posts for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. You will be keen to develop and establish new communities on other channels as the social media landscape changes.  Translating the work of our grassroots partners and GFC staff into powerful social media narratives, you will produce content that is aligned with our mission and ensure that we are maximising the potential of our digital channels to grow our supporter base and build a growing global movement.

You will collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, various digital agencies and colleagues around the world on a daily basis in undertaking your role coordinating campaigns and our daily social media schedule.

You should have a passion for staying up to date with industry trends and innovations, a track record of creating content aligned with cultural moments and a knowledge of how popular culture can drive social change. You will be skilled in producing viral content and driving actions and donations through social media.

To that end, you will also play a role in building relationships with our growing network of Global Ambassadors who use their networks and influence to raise the profile of our work and inspire their communities to take action. You will also provide support in managing relationships with our Global Ambassadors and other key influencers to maximise content opportunities and community building.

You will be focused on results and data. You will understand our key audiences and community building objectives and play a key role in growing the brand and profile of GFC and GFC leaders. You will be focused on analysing the performance and results of your work in order to inform future priorities. You will work with the team to generate and report back against our monthly KPIs.

You don’t need to have experience working in social media in the charity sector, but you do need to have demonstrable skills in creating engaging content, growing followers, working collaboratively and converting engagement to donations and actions.

Position Responsibilities

Social Media Management and Digital Content Creation

• Support the execution of an integrated strategy for our social media channels including leading on content planning and creation, posting and analysis.
• Staying on top of trends and learning from analytics to create compelling and engaging content that meets agreed KPIs.
• Develop and produce high-quality multimedia content for various platforms, including social media, websites and email campaigns.
• Edit raw footage into finished videos using industry-standard software, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
• Support on digital ads delivery.
• Support in managing relationships with digital agencies.
• Support other teams across GFC to use social media as a method to engage and communicate with key audiences and stakeholders. 
• Work with colleagues on managing third party specialists (freelancer or agency) to maximise our website maintenance and development, digital projects, paid advertising to ensure good return on investment and that objectives are met on time and on budget.

Email Marketing

•  Act as social media content lead for major campaigns and fundraising activities
• Recommend and execute social media strategies to achieve fundraising and campaign objectives and KPIs. 
• Support the delivery of the Marketing and Communications team email marketing programme to meet agreed open and click-through rate KPIs.
• Support the team to build, design and send acquisition and retention emails using the email distribution system (Pardot).
• Support the review and analysis of email marketing results, report and evaluate overall and specific campaign success.

Global Ambassador and Influencer outreach and support

• Lead on delivering the Global Ambassador engagement strategy and influencer engagement activities.
•  Support the cultivation of existing and new influencers and Global Ambassadors. Work across teams to coordinate asks/outreach and ensure relationship managers are briefed and supported to deliver cultivation plans.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify new potential celebrity supporters and influencers, develop one-pagers and coordinate sign-off process and develop recruitment plans to bring them on board.

Project management

• Lead and co-lead specific digital campaigns and projects throughout the year.
• Manage and catalogue digital assets (photos, case studies and videos) and upload them to digital asset management system.
•  Along with your colleagues, make sure that ‘Safer Communication’ and safeguarding are at the heart of all our asset collection and creation. Undertake your work in line with the safeguarding policy and best practice for marketing and communications work.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as required by your line manager.

About You

Essential experience and skills

•  A strong knowledge of social media trends and passion for creating engaging content.
• Significant proven experience of managing social media channels to achieve goals and objectives.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual aesthetics.
• Passion for digital communications and social media platforms, up to date on the newest trends and excited about finding new creative ways of communicating.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in using Canva
• Using an email marketing system (GFC currently uses Pardot)
• Working with a website content management system (creating webpages)
• Experience of using analytics insights (social media or Google Analytics for the website) to create reports. An ability to use these reports to make informed decisions when planning content based on what has performed well in the past.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: This role is open to candidates from any location. If the candidate is based in the UK, the salary will be c. £50,000

Terms: Full-time contract, home-based with attendance from time to time at the UK office in central London when necessary or requested to deliver work plans. 

Weekly hours: 35 hours per week

Flexible Working Location: This position is open to candidates from any location, but you must be able to collaborate easily, on a daily basis, with key colleagues (currently UK, Spain, Kenya) in the Marketing and Communications team.

Holidays: 30 days annual leave and eight public holidays. The basic annual leave allowance increases to 35 days after four years continuous employment.
