In this role, you will be an integral member of the Events and Community Fundraising Team. You will work closely with a team of field-based colleagues providing support, ensuring the growth of income and development of long-term relationships with supporters.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Fundraising Support

· Check current platforms to collate daily registrations and assign to appropriate region

· Manage Facebook donation report through GivePanel

· Monitor Community Fundraising email inbox, contact supporters and fulfil fundraising pack requests

· Assist with the regional running portfolio and steward runners

· Answer and respond to enquiries on the fundraising hotline

· Assist the community fundraising team with admin, marketing, and stewardship

· Manage our offline fundraising materials through our fulfilment partner, ordering replacement materials when needed

· Contribute content for regional social media

· Ensure all fundraising activities operate within best practice, regulatory guidelines and comply with health and safety requirements

· Act as a champion for fundraising compliance across the organisation, including ensuring adherence to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, the General Data Protection Act and other relevant legislative requirements.

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.

Working with the Senior Caseworkers and Team Manager your role and responsibilities include: 

•Support staff to liaise with young people and their families/carers to communicate information regarding our work

•Provide information, support, advocacy and guidance to children and young people from refugee backgrounds (and their families/carers when available), to ensure that they are able to access their educational rights.

•Increase communication and understanding between young people, families, social services, schools and other professionals

•Develop relationships with schools and relevant agencies, in order to make and obtain referrals, and support refugee young people and their families access educational services.

•Empower young people and their parents to take control and be their own best advocates

Main duties and responsibilities:

·Run 2 monthly evening drop in advice sessions at KLS youth club 

·Run 2 monthly drop in advice sessions at Southfields Acadmey

·Support refugee young people including unaccompanied asylum seeking young people (and their families/carers when available) to overcome barriers to access and thrive 

·Identify and assess their needs and advocate with them for their rights and entitlements

·Provide information and advice whilst working other agencies (e.g. social services, and mental health)

·Refer them to other agencies as appropriate.

·Make and follow up on internal and/or external referrals and signposting whenever relevant and according to adequate referral pathways, in response to the young people’s needs

·Liaise between young people (and with their parents/carers when available) with school, social services, other agencies and foster carers, to support young people holistically to overcome educational barriers

·Work with Future Foundations to Learn team members to share casework information and advocacy needs and to develop the work of the whole team in supporting local refugee young people and families

·Advocate on behalf of and/or represent young people by preparing reports and attending appeals or interviews or meetings with them

The Team

Part of the Philanthropy Team, comprised of individuals focused on major giving, prospect research and trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will work closely with the corporate partnerships team and community and events team. 

Key Relationships

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Prospect Research Manager will play an integral role in managing the growth and development of the prospect pipeline to enable the fundraising ambitions of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.  
 

This role will make a significant contribution towards increasing our income by ensuring that the best potential supporters are identified, researched and allocated in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams.  

This role works across all areas of the team’s remit to deliver strategic insight on our highest-level prospects, using data science techniques to evaluate performance, spot trends and opportunities, including due diligence research, build prospect pipelines for priority fundraising projects, and work directly with fundraisers to manage prospect portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and strategic prospect research and intelligence which meets the needs of our fundraising team.  
• Conduct fundraising market research, from larger prospect finding projects to prospect ratings work, donor profiles, networks research, competitor analysis and occasional work on cultivation event briefings.  
• Work closely with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to ensure the team’s workplan is updated regularly and work assigned is carried out to deadline, sharing any capacity issues or challenges where they arise. 
• Carry out due diligence research on prospective donors, producing thorough and objective reports which support fundraising decisions and ensure adherence to our gift acceptance procedures and are agreed with the legal team  
• Identify networks of clinicians and stakeholders to assess the opportunities for reaching new potential donors.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Development Manager to undertake work arising from portfolio reviews to clean fundraising portfolios.  
• Build strong cross-team working relationships, meeting with fundraisers on a regular basis to discuss needs, manage expectations and gain feedback.  
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the Raiser’s Edge database which will include regular data mining activity, building complex queries and exports, and the creation of constituent records.  
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 2018/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to develop annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Network regularly with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Alongside the Senior Prospect Research Manager, oversee prospect identification for priority fundraising projects and support team members in developing projects for prospecting.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends. 

Working Environment:

The post holder should expect to: 
 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.  
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

This role will really suit someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with a degree of autonomy and who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. 

This role plays a central role in the workings of the organisation including with our Policy Team, our Comms Team and our Development Team. They also join Senior Management Team meetings and all Board and Committee meetings. The role currently line manages one direct report but this may be increased to two and reports into and works closely with the Chief Executive. This role also leads on the relationships with our accountants (who deliver our financial management and accounting functions) and other external contractors. 

JUSTICE is a law reform and human rights organisation, working to improve processes and policies to support everyone, particularly marginalised groups, be able to seek justice or a remedy when their rights have been breached or the law has been broken. We also seek to improve the justice system as a whole, ensuring that laws are clear and consistent and that the government and other key decisionmakers are held to account.

We are a founding member of The Justice Hub, which is situated next to St Paul’s Cathedral. in London. We also have staff based in other locations including in Manchester, Sheffield and Edinburgh. In addition, this role requires a minimum of 5 days per month working in our London offices. We also close the office between 25 December and 1 January (inclusive), which is addition to the annual leave mentioned above. About the role
