Fauna & Flora is seeking a highly experienced and motivated conservation professional to fulfil the role of Senior Programme Manager, Eastern & Southern Africa, providing and facilitating the enabling conditions for staff, projects and partners in the region to excel. The role has a capacity building focus and that also acts as a backstop and assumes overall responsibility for Fauna & Flora’s work in the region.
The successful candidate will have operational and managerial experience in conservation project and programme management, including people management, risk management and mitigation, proposal writing, technical and financial management and reporting of large funds and grants, preferably with statutory or multilateral/bilateral donors and preferably in Africa, as well as a commitment to organisational and national legal compliance.
Excellent people management skills are essential to the role to ensure a professional and motivated team that delivers effectively against project aims, objectives and timelines. The role requires a skilled and credible communicator, who is confident in developing the capacity of in-country teams and partners, both directly and by facilitating the engagement and skills of UK based cross-cutting teams, and ensuring the focus remains on in-country leadership and delivery of results.
The successful applicant will also have substantial experience in the field of conservation, a commitment to rights-based conservation and upholding the highest standards on social safeguard and safeguarding matters. Main areas of responsibility
- Build relationships with portfolio of five and six figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.
- Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the organisation to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed
- Champion and input in to the teams prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to take new opportunities from identification through to solicitation, particularly focussing on those with multi-year and high value potential.
- Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.
- Provide supportive management to a Trust and Grants Officer, offering regular advice and guidance, identifying opportunities for development and monitoring performance objectives in line with the organisational and team strategy.
- Play an active role in developing and delivering the Trusts and Grants team strategy contributing to planning and management of team objectives, and supporting the Senior Manager to motivate the team and drive trust income.
- Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
- Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our Adult Services, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and service development, of a portfolio of services. Namely (but subject to change):
- Safe Space Community Drop In Service
- Hounslow Helpline
- Nova Roots (Forensic Community Hub)
One large service you will be responsible for is our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is a tri-borough core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00 across all of our boroughs. You will be responsible for managing peripatetic teams: we currently have 3x in person Safe Spaces, a Helpline and a Forensic Community You’re your portfolio may expand as new services are acquired.
Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
- To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
- To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.

The Role
The role of the Crisis Alternative Service Manager will provide operational management, mobilisation and service development of all Crisis’ Services within Adult Services. The ideal candidate will have experience of mobilising and developing high quality, large services. In addition to managing and supporting staff working within challenging environments and experience of working with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The Service Manager will hold all operational risk.
Excellent organisation and decision-making skills are essential for this role, as it requires being able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and work unsupervised during evenings and weekends. You will also be required to be rostered into the on-call rota.
The Crisis Alternative Service Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services and will be proficient at communicating effectively with staff at all levels, a wide range of key stakeholders and service users. They will ensure the service is well resourced from a staffing perspective and embed high-quality operational plans and processes. The Service Manager will also be expected to build and sustain working relationships with statutory services and represent HFEH Mind at external meetings.
They will be responsible for the delivery, progression and continual improvement of the service. They will have responsibility for ensuring Crisis Services operate in line with organisational H&S processes and procedures, HFEH Mind policies and CQC requirements
Key Responsibilities
· To oversee the management of the Crisis Alternative Drop-in Services and other services, in line with organisational values and service quality expectations.
· To ensure all risks are recognised and mitigated in line with the serious incident and safeguarding policies.

· To ensure feedback is provided on risk mitigation through serious incident reports.

Role Overview
As a member of the Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet the charity’s strategic objectives. Specifically, they will lead projects and programmes to deliver improvements in quality and standards of health services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. In doing so, they will work closely with not only the Director of Services & Evidence and Heald of Health Services, but also external stakeholders including health and social care organisations, academics, researchers and other charities. The post-holder will also be actively involved in leading, supporting and developing the Health Services team.
About You
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of delivering health service projects and programmes and have come from a health services or medical charity background. You will be adept at developing operational performance metrics, strategies and objectives and have a proven track record in developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders. Whilst not essential, experience of managing and leading a team would be beneficial, as would be an awareness and knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Thames Chase Community Forest was established in 1990 and covers an area of 98 square miles on the edge of east London and south-west Essex. Thames Chase Trust welcomes around 65,000 visitors per year to the Forest Centre complex. The architecturally acclaimed Visitor Centre is the information hub for the entire Community Forest and includes a cafe, shop, and public toilets. The complex also includes a 17th century barn, original stable block, refurbished Education Room, and farm cottages.
Our dedicated and friendly Forest Centre team seeks to provide the best possible visitor experience and to continue to develop and grow the complex. You will manage volunteers and five members of staff focussed on the Forest Centre complex. The staff team includes four Forest Centre Assistants and one Forest Centre Caretaker. You will be further supported by our Communications and Media Officer, Finance Officer, and Administration Officer. Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
• To deliver all aspects of CSE’s Human Resources function, from recruitment, staff welfare, wellbeing and associated support, staff records, training and professional development, oversight and advice on any conflicts or disciplinary matters; and to include the development and maintenance of all appropriate staff policies and processes, including performance management and staff appraisals, remuneration, role progression and all staff benefits.

• To maintain the organisation’s personnel records in accordance with appropriate data protection standards and recognised good practice (utilizing the Cezanne HR system). To provide overall ownership of this system – in terms of data contents, security and ongoing operations for the system. The postholder will also act as primary contact for the Cezanne software supplier, liaising with the Director of Finance & Operations and other interested parties where necessary.
• To maintain oversight of staff welfare and working with line managers and other relevant staff, provide and promote access to support and advice to sustain good staff mental and physical health and wellbeing.
• To play an integral role supporting both the Employee Voice (EV) group and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) group and take a lead on related operational functions including administrating the 6-monthly Staff Survey and highlighting issues and trends in staff feedback.
• Provide oversight and guidance in respect of staff recruitment, onboarding, induction development and training, supporting and advising other relevant staff across all associated processes.

• To ensure that all payroll documents such as starter forms and payroll amendment forms are completed and saved in the correct location and sent to the payroll bureau where appropriate, and support the Finance team with the administration of our payroll and payroll records and pension scheme contributions and other employee benefits. To accurately track all staff absence and ensure that self-certification and return to work meetings are completed in a timely manner. Update the Bradford factor grid to monitor score against policy and, support line managers and employees in understanding how CSE uses this as a tool at all stages of process.
• To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable employment, equity and diversity, and Health and Safety laws (with support from professional advisors where appropriate), standards, guidance, and good practice, advising the SLT how these can best be reflected in the organisation’s policies and practices as they apply both to individual members of staff and to the organisation as a whole.
• To prepare accurate and accessible reports for the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees on relevant organisational, team, and individual staff HR matters to enable informed and timely monitoring and decision-making, principally on a set cycle to feed into a routine schedule of meetings and occasionally to meet an ad hoc need.
• To work with the Senior Leadership Team and other staff as appropriate to support change management processes. This may include reviewing remuneration policies, job evaluation and salary benchmarking, skills audits, EDI Practices and line management practices.
• To identify opportunities to improve CSE’s Human Resources processes and practices, informed by a sound understanding of our mission and strategic objectives and our operating context and by keeping up to date with advances in personnel management and human resources practices. Reporting to the Head of Membership and Operations, the Business Development and Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in driving sustainable growth and cultivating strategic partnerships that align with the organisation's core mission and values. This newly created position aims to strengthen our expansion efforts and help us adapt to the changing landscape of care and support for disabled people.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development and Partnership Manager who will lead initiatives to identify, develop, and manage partnerships that can drive significant growth and enhance our market presence. This role will also focus on existing revenue streams and explore new areas for development and growth. The position requires exceptional relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of partnership management. It also requires a strategic approach that blends attention to detail and results-oriented delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, along with a proven track record of successful partnership management and revenue growth. Specific responsibilities and duties
Business Development Strategy and Implementation
· Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure partnership opportunities.
· Identify and explore innovative areas for development and growth.
· Set clear goals and objectives to measure the success of business development efforts. Analyse market trends and the competitive landscape to inform partnership strategies.
Partnership Development and Relationship Management
· Identify and engage potential partners while building and maintaining strong relationships with existing stakeholders.
· Serve as the main point of contact for key partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Opportunity Identification and Market Research
· Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships that align with organisational goals, including new membership opportunities.
· Conduct market research to recognise trends, opportunities, and challenges in the sector, analysing competitor activities to inform strategies.
· Deliver on existing opportunities and identify new ones, including sponsorship activities for events, projects, programmes, work, events and conferences, and smaller strategic roundtables.
Negotiation and Contract Management
· Lead detailed negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favourable terms for both parties, and oversee contract management to ensure compliance and performance monitoring.
Collaboration and Project Management
· Work closely with internal colleagues to align partnership initiatives with business objectives, managing execution to ensure initiatives align with organisational priorities.
· Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate campaigns and promotional events effectively.
Performance Tracking and Financial Management
· Monitor and analyse partnership performance, using data to refine strategies and maximise impact. Prepare regular updates on business development activities and partnership outcomes.
· Prepare budgets and financial forecasts related to business development activities, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of initiatives and partnerships.
Networking and Representation
· Represent the organisation at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote business development initiatives and cultivate a strong professional network for future partnerships.
·Engage in community outreach and represent the organisation in public forums to expand its network and promote its mission
