About You

Are you an experienced and confident fundraiser with a trusts and statutory background with the motivation to drive real change for the Armed Forces community? If you have experience in inspiring donor support through persuasive and creative proposals and building positive relationships, and have a can-do attitude, it would be great to have you join our team.

• Experience in a high value fundraising role, raising money from trusts and foundations and/or statutory funders.
• Experience of developing compelling funding proposals, including budgets with programme managers and other stakeholders
• Experience of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent writing skills to produce compelling funding proposals and reports for funders.
• Ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects, plan, and set priorities.
• A good understanding of the trust fundraising and/or statutory fundraising environment including key compliance considerations and trends in the sector.

About the Role

In this role you will form a vital part of our High Value Partnerships team; achieving or exceeding agreed income targets through tailored and compelling fundraising proposals to existing and new funders; and matching donor interests with Help for Heroes’ programmes.

You will deliver excellent stewardship managing a portfolio of high value donors, delivering against donor objectives, and seeking opportunities to develop and broaden support. Whilst also contributing to the wider Trusts and Foundations, and Partnerships strategies, including taking on management of special projects as and when required.

About the Team

The Trusts and Foundations Team is made up of the Trusts and Foundations Senior Partnership Manager, the Trusts and Grants Manager, and the Trusts and Foundations Executive, part of the wider High Value Partnerships Team, Commercial Directorate.

This is an exciting time for growth within this highly motivated team, and this role will play an integral part in our strategy building on our existing pipeline, working collaboratively to make a big impact. You will be working remotely but with regular opportunities for face-to-face meetings with the team, partners, and beneficiaries, usually held in London, Birmingham, Salisbury, or Swindon.

The Initiatives and Partnerships Manager plays a key role in the Trust’s Initiatives and Partnerships Team. The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Trust’s projects, manage team members and on occasion support external and partnership projects. Our work is varied, ranging from early-stage feasibility planning, partnership development, fundraising, business planning and design development, as well as supporting our conservation team who lead construction phase oversight. 

This role builds on the successes of the Trust’s longstanding Regeneration programme, which has undertaken pioneering Regeneration projects addressing some of our most pressing conservation needs, as well as developing new operating models for some of the churches in our care. The job will support our regional teams in developing and implementing projects to deliver a range of conservation, social and regeneration benefits; with the balance of each responding to local need, demand and opportunity.

In addition, it encompasses the work undertaken to develop new commercial income opportunities. Examples are our groundbreaking Champing™ initiative, as well as others such as filming, and other commercial partnerships.

Our clients are mostly long-term unemployed and have experienced repeated rejections from multiple jobs: 40% have been unemployed for over a year, 20% have applied to over 20 jobs and 23% have applied to over 50 jobs. With the support of the Greater London Authority (GLA), Smart Works is about to begin an innovative employment project to connect underrepresented women across London with high-quality job opportunities. Over the next 12 months, this project will place women directly into good work within priority sectors, whilst also helping employers build more inclusive recruitment pipelines and practices. 

The Employer Engagement Manager will be central to the success of this project. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, they will lead on employer engagement and job brokerage for Smart Works. The Policy and Campaigns Officer will develop policy positions and campaigns that will help ensure that the needs, rights and priorities of those living with DMD are understood and acted on by decision makers, policy makers, parliament and government. The Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Policy and Communications team to support a cohesive and impactful approach to policy, engagement and communications.

Job Description

• To ensure that the charity’s policy and campaigning work is firmly grounded in the views and experiences of the DMD community and to ensure that they are consulted and involved in the development (and delivery where appropriate) of Duchenne UK’s policy positions and campaigns.
• To maximise the benefits of our existing relationships with civil servants, parliamentarians, policy makers, relevant organisations (such as NICE) and charity sector professionals and to create new relationships which help us to achieve our aims.
• To organise events and parliamentary activity working with parliamentary supporters and the DMD community.
• To devise low-budget campaigns aimed at creating positive change in policy, practice or attitudes that will improve the lives and outcomes of those living with DMD. 
• To create campaign assets such as digital and social media content in collaboration with the communications team.
• To draft consultation responses, policy positions and occasional short reports summarising the findings of research we have conducted or commissioned.
• To monitor relevant government proposals and initiatives, identifying those likely to have a major impact on the lives of those living with DMD, and to seek to influence their development.
• To stay abreast of relevant academic research, build relationships with key academics and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Person Specification

Essential experience:

• Experience of working in a policy and/or campaigning role.
• Experience of writing for a range of audiences and using different channels to produce convincing, clear and succinct content across a range of platforms such as blogs, web and print.
• Experience of working with civil servants and parliamentarians.
• Experience of using digital and social media for influencing and campaigning purposes.

Desirable experience:

• Project management experience including initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating campaigns and organising events.
• Experience working in health and social care space, with pharmaceutical industry and/or a highly regulated industry and engaging with regulators.

Essential knowledge:

• Working knowledge of the healthcare system, regulatory framework and the social model of disability. 
• Knowledge of how policy and legislation are developed in Westminster and Whitehall.
• Knowledge of campaigning techniques.

Essential skills and attributes:

Role Overview and Main Responsibilities

One of the main areas of this role is to improve the Digital Marketing systems of the college. This involves managing multiple projects and supervising other team members within their roles. The postholder will also work alongside the CEO to develop and implement a new marketing strategy to enable ANCC to achieve its vision and mission globally. This will include shaping the Marketing and Communications team to support the stakeholder journey for students, partners and donors.

• Enhancing the digital systems of the college for the purposes of marketing
• Work collaboratively with the CEO and Marketing & Communications team to ensure new marketing assets are designed and produced for optimal results

· Generating leads for new applicants, students, partners and donations to the college, optimising our efficiency, and maximising opportunities for engagement.

• Manage the website development project which includes the improvement of the college website for marketing purposes, and improving the User Experience (UXP) ensuring that it is optimised for search engines
• Manage team members for the maintenance and development of the college’s website, SEO, user journey experience, and website assets
• Support and collaborate with the Social Media officer to ensure digital marketing across our platforms, including LinkedIn for digital community engagement.
• Monitor and review performance of digital marketing channels for analytical reporting and making recommendations for improvement.
• Email marketing across stakeholder groups to support recruitment and engagement for the college. This includes the management of Mailchimp and ensuring Donorfy data is up to date.
• Direct marketing to students and partners for college courses, training options, collaborative design, delivery and lifelong learning. This may include digital marketing via website, social media, email, content marketing, print marketing and campaigns.
• Developing a digital marketing campaigns calendar and system for use within the team including the implementation of campaign briefs and tracking of campaigns across ANCC products
• Play an active role within the team to help at promotional events, including national exhibitions and conferences, at the college and elsewhere
• Assist the team with organising college open days and other promotional events (graduations, multicultural evenings, carols at Easneye etc).

The Literacy Pirates is on an exciting journey of growth, rolling out our innovative learning programmes to reach more children than ever before. We are seeking a motivated, target-driven School Partnerships Manager to lead the recruitment and stewardship of schools into our programmes. In the next five years we want to increase the number of school partnerships from 40 to 150. 

This role is ideal for someone with sales, marketing, or recruitment experience who thrives on building relationships, closing deals, and meeting ambitious targets. Direct experience working in schools is not essential (though beneficial). You will be confident selling on the phone, presenting to senior leaders, and ensuring excellent partner experiences. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and deliver Literacy Pirates’ recruitment strategy, working to clear targets that align with our organisational growth strategy. 

• Proactively identify and pursue new school leads through outbound calls, emails, networking, and events. 

• Confidently pitch our programmes to headteachers and senior leaders, both over the phone and in person. 

• Manage the Partnership Officer to create a pipeline of prospective schools, tracking progress through a CRM and reporting on success. 

• Deliver excellent stewardship and account management, maximising retention and strengthening long-term partnerships. 

• Collaborate with the Communications Manager to design and deliver marketing campaigns, digital content, and promotional materials that support recruitment. 

• Represent Literacy Pirates at events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise our profile. 

• Work with the wider team to improve systems and processes that support recruitment and partnership management. 

• Monitor and evaluate recruitment and retention outcomes, providing regular reporting against agreed KPIs. 

• Ensure safeguarding is central to all partnership activity, upholding Literacy Pirates’ safeguarding and data protection policies at all times.
