We have a vacancy for a Mental Health A&E Link Worker to join our team.
About the Project
Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.
We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.
Service Objectives
The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Crisis services are:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by HMN and other third sector and statutory providers.
- To contribute to an improvement in an individual’s mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis, to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.
About the Role:
The Mental Health A&E Link worker will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in A&E, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a consistent presence in A&E for individuals with mental health needs to access, as well as partner agencies, including A&E staff, integrated discharge teams, mental health liaison teams, CGL, Bounce Back, to refer into.
- To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely A&E discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
- To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
- To undertake assessments of needs and risk, devising crisis and risk management plans, and liaising with services, to facilitate referrals daily.
- To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
- To promote and raise the profile of Nightlight and other HMN services within the hospital to ensure greater community awareness of crisis alternative provision.
- To participate in daily check in meetings with Nightlight at 17:45 and 21:00 through Microsoft Teams, communicating appropriately and sharing information with staff following assessment and onward referral into the service.
- To develop relationships across both Bounce Back and Nightlight teams
- To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
- To record accurately and timely tasks done; utilising our client management system to capture the outputs and outcomes achieved, to monitor service impact.
- To represent Herts Mind Network at external meetings, and network locally to develop contacts, services and raise Herts Mind Network’s profile.
- To encourage a culture of continuous performance improvement at both an individual and service level.
- To build a service that is flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- To work in partnership with Mind in West Essex and Mind in Mid Herts to ensure that the crisis alternatives pathway model is consistent across the Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS.
- To participate in training and development opportunities as agreed with your line manager necessary for the role and/or your own development as part of an agreed personal development plan.
- To contribute to reviewing the effectiveness of appropriate crisis interventions for all service users, including but not limited to, contributing to the co-development of the service by supporting service user, family, and carer involvement by obtaining feedback and supporting where necessary chances to be involved in wider service reviews.
- To act as a positive role model showing professional and caring attitudes and behaviour towards other team members, service users and carers.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us.
But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.
Right now, we’re looking for a self-motivated individual to join us at our Recovery Near You service in Wolverhampton. This is a substance misuse service that works with adults aged 18+ and is run in partnership with Nacro and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. You’ll work not only from Aquarius offices, but also in primary care, arrest referral, hospital and youth settings and other outreach settings as required. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance misuse, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.
Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety. We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. A flexible approach is important too, as is commitment to taking a client centred approach to providing services and working in a way that recognises and values diversity.
This is a full time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Team Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support across our service delivery and fundraising sides of our charity.
We are an independent charity supporting people in Wiltshire. Our low-cost services are accessible for everybody in our community. Wiltshire Mind is now entering a new phase of our work, expanding traditional services across the county, and introducing innovative mental health and wellbeing support to our communities.
As a member of our small team, you will play a key role in being the first line of contact for many of our enquiries and also ensuring the essential administration work that helps keep us running.
About the role:
This is an exciting, yet demanding new role for Wiltshire Mind, as we try to reach more people with our support across our county.
The Team Administrator is the first point of contact for our charity, so this is an important role in demonstrating our values, through the professionalism of our work. We rely on our Team Administrator to communicate effectively and efficiently internally and externally with a range of stakeholders from clients and delivery partners to trustees to funders.
We are a small charity, where everyone works together to deliver the very best we can in mental health support for our beneficiaries. Having an interest or lived experience in mental health is helpful, as empathic communication with our clients is important.
Time management is critical, as is the ability to demonstrate organisational skills to deal with a multitude of tasks. If you like to be kept busy and can work at pace – this role may be ideal for you. Strong IT skills are of benefit too, as we use a number of systems to collate, record and report on our work. We also link to other IT systems. A working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite would be crucial, including PowerPoint, as our successful candidate will be helping produce reports and materials which will be seen by many others.
As well as general on-the-job training, the Team Administrator will also be required to train for the following key roles of First Aider and Fire Warden, representing our office in Trowbridge.
Key Responsibilities:
· Liasing with and booking counselling sessions for adults and young people
· Maintaining client records and data on our Client Management System
· Producing data and reports on our service delivery performance
· Arranging our Support Groups, and liaising with our volunteers who help run them

This is a part-time role where you’ll work 22.5 hours per week to include Thursdays.

Richmond Fellowship’s community arts studio Art Matters requires a creative individual with an arts background to join our team as Studio Arts Facilitator.
You will have an arts background, qualifications and skills in a range of arts activities and will be involved in supporting attending artists to explore their creative interests during sessions and workshops.
