What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Supporting your team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure volunteers are happy and confident
• Making sure the team observes charity best practice and compliance
• Collaborating with your Branch Development Manager (BDM) to plan volunteer activity
• Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines
• Monitoring expenditure and helping ensure long term financial stability of the volunteer group
• Organising and chairing team meetings
• Acting as an ambassador for Cats Protection

Time expectation

Our branch team leader volunteers usually spend 10 to 15 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed. There will be times of year when more hours are required, such as towards the end of the financial year, but support and guidance are available.

Supporting Women Through Pregnancy and Pregnancy Loss

About the Role

A national pregnancy and pregnancy loss support charity is seeking compassionate and strategic individuals to join its Board of Trustees. The organisation supports women and families facing unexpected pregnancy or the heartbreak of pregnancy loss, providing care and practical help at a time when it is needed most.

New Trustees will join a dedicated team committed to guiding the charity’s future direction and ensuring that its services remain impactful, ethical, and accessible. Trustees play a vital role in decision-making and oversight, helping the organisation remain strong, sustainable, and rooted in its mission of compassionate support.

Purpose/Summary of role

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be a part of the Catering Team.  To assist with the preparation and service of nutritious food to our Members, maintaining Health & Safety and kitchen hygiene standards

Description of tasks

Food Preparation – catering for daily lunches and internal and events, tasks include prepping, cooking, dishing up and serving, washing up and clearing up kitchen.  Ingredients will be cooked, from fresh, frozen, or tinned stock to create healthy meat and vegetarian/vegan dishes.   To assist with periodic intensive cleaning of the catering space.

Time Commitment

3 months with end of season review to continue.

Flexible one day a week either on:

Mondays 10-2.30pm

or

Wednesdays 10-2.30pm

Skills and Qualifications

This role would suit someone who enjoys cooking and working as part of a team
A basic level of cooking knowledge and ability to follow instruction is essential.

Some experience or a desire to work with vulnerable women who have been through the Criminal Justice System or at risk of offending.

In this vital set-up phase, you will be instrumental in:

• Developing a Brand Guidelines / Styling Guide: Collaborating with our Founder to build a comprehensive visual identity guide. This includes defining our brand colours, typography, imagery style (including photography and illustration direction), logo usage, and overall design principles to ensure a cohesive, youthful and impactful look.

• Ensuring Brand Consistency: Helping to apply the new brand identity across all our communications, ensuring everything we produce feels distinctly REMIX.

About Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN)

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is recognised for its work to reduce undernutrition globally. We enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, connecting key actors and building evidence. We are passionate about being network-driven, independent and evidence-based. 

Our vision is that every individual caught up in a nutritional emergency, or suffering from malnutrition anywhere in the world, gets the most effective help possible.  We undertake knowledge management, research, and advocacy to support national governments, civil society, UN agencies, donors and academic organisations, and communities of practitioners. Through our work and collaborations, we support agencies and individuals to implement evidence-based nutrition programming, predominantly in low- and middle-income countries and in fragile and conflict-affected states.

What we do

ENN’s work includes our “Field Exchange” publication that provides up to date information from research, programme learnings, and news from the sector, generated by practitioners, and distributed to our large network of researchers, practitioners and policy makers globally.  We have projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Maternal and Adolescent Nutrition and support for Small and Nutritionally at-risk Infants under six months & their mothers and also manage a peer-to-peer forum offering timely answers to the questions challenging those on the front line of providing services to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world.  ENN does not directly implement programmes but works to improve the effectiveness of all nutrition practitioners by helping to shape policy and practice at global and national levels.

Key Tasks

· Translate short documents or messages from English to French, particularly technical content related to malnutrition prevention and treatment.

· Assist in the drafting or translation of social media posts for ENN’s French-speaking audience.

· Attend and take minutes for virtual meetings held in French, involving health and nutrition practitioners working in Francophone Africa.

· Provide feedback and quality assurance on French translations, once familiar with ENN’s tone, terminology, and referencing glossaries (ENN, GNC, etc.).

· Where relevant, support in identifying contacts in Francophone regions for interviews, written contributions, or presentations aligned with ENN’s technical areas of focus.

Requirements

• Fluency in French (C1 or C2 level) with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Good comprehension of English, particularly written English, in order to translate accurately.
• Ability to volunteer time on a flexible, ad hoc basis. Regular times each week may be agreed if preferred.
• Familiarity with or background in nutrition, health, or humanitarian contexts.
• Attention to detail and an interest in contributing to high-quality, impactful communications.

What We Can Offer

Whilst we are not in a position to financially remunerate you for your time, we would be able to offer you the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working in a highly regarded organisation, developing a new area of support for mothers and their infants in the nutrition sector.
We would encourage you to join some of our online technical meetings in English, as well as our French language meetings.

Role 1: Trustee – Development and Strategic Growth

We are seeking a trustee with experience in strategic development, income generation, and fundraising - ideally within the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic oversight of Wonderseekers' forward plans, major initiatives, and campaigns
• Guide the Board on building external relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders
• Support the Development Team in evolving fundraising strategies (individual giving, grants, trusts, corporate partnerships)
• Shape strategies for income generation, sponsorship, and donor stewardship
• Contribute to public relations, communications, and marketing
• Champion Wonderseekers’ mission and connect new supporters with our vision
• Serve and Chair the Fundraising Committee

Role 2: Trustee - Commercial Strategy

We are also seeking a trustee with a strong commercial background, particularly in the visitor experience sector, with financial acumen and senior experience in either a commercial or charitable setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain strategic oversight of Wonderseekers' commercial performance, especially at our visitor centre in Winchester
• Advise the Board on commercial matters and support the COO in long-term growth planning
• Lead or support on commercial risk management
• Serve as a director and Chair of our trading subsidiary, Sparking Curiosity Limited

As a social media volunteer you will be managing and creating content for the charity's social media platforms, monitoring performance and establishing and maintaining active social media accounts.

We are recruiting new Trustees

Several of our Trustees will soon complete their second three-year term. We are therefore building a pipeline of new Trustees to join the Board over a managed transition period over the next year. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in: 

• charitable fundraising (e.g. cultivating high-net-worth donors or running successful online small-donor campaigns); or
• digital communications and engagement (especially through social media); or
• building stakeholder partnerships (e.g. securing sponsorships for events or projects).

Previous Board experience is not essential. However, candidates must be able to make the necessary time commitment

Job Overview:

As a Roma Helpline Volunteer, you will be at the heart of a new and exciting pilot project aimed at offering confidential, culturally competent, and multilingual support to Roma and Romanian-speaking communities across Greater Manchester and the UK.

You will respond to helpline calls during scheduled shifts, log information securely, and provide advice or referrals related to housing, benefits, health, employment, and legal matters. Your presence will make a real difference in ensuring accessible, respectful, and responsive support for one of the UK’s most marginalised communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Helpline Support:
  Respond to calls via a secure VOIP system during scheduled helpline shifts (2nd and 4th Thursday, 5–7 PM).
  Listen actively and empathetically and provide culturally competent support and signposting.
  Log all call data securely using Europia’s GDPR-compliant CRM system.
• Referral and Follow-up:
  Identify the caller's main issue and provide information or refer them to the appropriate service.
  Where necessary, flag safeguarding or urgent cases to the on-call safeguarding officer.
• Language and Accessibility:
  Offer assistance in Romanian or another Roma community language.
  Help promote trust and understanding with callers through culturally sensitive communication.
• Collaboration and Supervision:
  Attend mandatory training sessions on safeguarding, cultural competency, and data protection.
  Participate in case review meetings and supervision sessions (monthly or bi-monthly).
  Work closely with other volunteers, staff, and translators/interpreters when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Fluent in English, and proficient in Romanian or a Roma community language
• Compassionate and empathetic with strong active listening skills.
• Comfortable speaking over the phone and dealing with potentially sensitive topics.
• Basic IT skills to manage digital forms and online logging tools.
• Respect for confidentiality and ability to adhere to safeguarding procedures.
• Previous experience supporting the Roma community is an advantage but not required.

Time Commitment:

• Minimum commitment of 2 hours every 2nd and 4th Thursday, between 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
• Volunteers will work on a rotating rota, ensuring equal participation and preventing burnout.
• Flexibility to attend occasional training and supervision sessions outside helpline hours.

Summary: Driving medical communication and patient-led research agenda for a complex medical condition 

Description: You could make a real difference to the lives of patients and doctors struggling with a rare disease. That's what we do at Mast Cell Action - a charity dedicated to supporting the Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) patient community and improving the evidence base for the disease.

We work hand-in-hand with doctors and patients to develop materials that truly make a difference. And with the help of our medical advisory panel, we're constantly improving our activities to better serve our community.

But we're not done yet. We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in this area, with medical, health, NHS, and research experience to join our team. You'll be responsible for developing and executing our strategy to engage with the medical community, research organisations, NHS policymakers, and our community as a whole.

You will lead a team of passionate volunteers and interns, working closely with our Operations Director to drive our mission forward. One of your key responsibilities will be to nurture and grow our Medical Advisory Panel, working hand-in-hand with supportive doctors and medical institutions. You'll be the face of the charity, representing us in all our interactions with these key stakeholders.

You’ll report directly to our trustee board, ensuring that all of our activities are aligned with our overall strategy and goals.

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in the NHS and medical/research environment. If you're someone who can assess a situation and develop a clear strategy to achieve the desired outcome, we want to hear from you.

As our ideal candidate, you're an effective communicator who can engage with doctors and produce written and visual materials that really make an impact. You're also a team player who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Managing projects and team members is second nature to you, and you're able to keep everyone on track and motivated. And with your awareness of the political and economic landscape in the area of complex diseases, you can navigate through any obstacles that come your way.

The Opportunity
 We’re looking for new Trustees to join our friendly Management Committee. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your skills and passion to a truly meaningful cause – supporting young children and their families at the very start of their journey.

As a trustee, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of the nursery, helping us remain sustainable, inclusive, and community-focused. You don’t need previous trustee experience – just a willingness to learn and a desire to make a difference.

Your Role as a Trustee

● Provide strategic direction and oversight to help the nursery flourish

● Support decision-making around finances, governance, staffing, and long-term planning

● Act as an ambassador for the nursery in the wider community
