- To make a significant contribution to, and have responsibility for your own part of reaching of our Corporate Fundraising target (currently £855k pa)
- To proactively secure new corporate relationships to strengthen our pipeline of partners to enable us to support a growing number of children and families.

The Supporter Journey Officer is a new role within the Supporter Journey team. About the role
As the Supporter Journey Officer, you will assist the Supporter Journey Manager with the development and elevation of an integrated supporter journey programme at Versus Arthritis, ensuring our contactable community receives a consistent and highly engaging supporter experience, which builds loyalty and inspires action.
This will include delivery of audience focused, integrated organisational journeys that build on our highly motivated community of supporters, based on shared values. These journeys will be managed across our platforms and audiences to significantly grow our voluntary income and lifetime value. You will be responsible for the delivery of communications across channels, including email, post and text messaging, ensuring accurate and timely implementation of agreed communications.
Central to increasing loyalty and inspiring positive action from our audience, we share the extent of the work being done by Versus Arthritis for the 10 million people in the UK living with arthritis. Alongside product managers, you will work to optimise in-product journeys across the organisation through consultancy and shared learning. You will work collaboratively with the head of department and other directorate colleagues to create and embed a fundraising and engagement culture across the organisation.
A key part of the role is to provide practical, administrative support and to lead on facilitating the collection of insight evaluation and future development, ensuring this supports team performance and learning. We’re a small and dynamic team at the forefront of innovating the charity’s Income and Engagement directorate.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how we communicate with our supporters across multiple channels – including email, post and SMS – ensuring that everyone who interacts with Versus Arthritis feels valued, inspired, and connected to our cause.
About you

We are working in partnership with Andover Mind, the charity has been working in the local area since 1984, and more recently in Romsey, Basingstoke and Aldershot, providing support, advice, and information for anyone affected by mental health distress. About the role
A new and exciting opportunity to work with us supporting the developments of active travel and liveable spaces for communities across the West Midlands.
As the Project Officer you will lead and support behaviour change projects across the West Midlands and Staffordshire with schools, workplaces, job seekers and communities. Engaging with a range of key individuals and delivering walking and cycling activities such as Dr Bike sessions, led walks and rides, school assemblies and community workshops.
As part of the Active Journeys Team, you will support people to walk, wheel and cycle by promoting opportunities and help overcome barriers to active travel. Projects will include improved walking and cycling infrastructure and making it possible for every child to walk, wheel and cycle to school.
Activities will be delivered both Online and face to face, and likely to include schools, workplaces and the diverse range of communities in the Midlands.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience of leading physical activity or other behaviour change projects within schools, workplaces or communities. You should also have experience of working on projects within an established project management framework.

Purpose of the job
Primarily, you’ll own responsibility for our small to medium grant pipeline, so we're looking for someone with a track record of successfully securing five figure funding from Trusts, Foundations, or Corporates. As well as writing high quality, comprehensive and persuasive funding applications, you’ll need to manage reporting and relationship management with the funders you successfully engage with and oversee wider fundraising areas, including playing a key role in our social media and communications, supporting sponsored event and London marathon runners, and playing a key part in planning our annual fundraising events. We see significant potential for growth within the role with the capacity for the right candidate to progress to Senior Fundraising Officer level within the first 12-18 months.

Role responsibilities to include:
- To prepare and submit compelling funding applications to our existing well established pipeline of small-medium Trusts, Foundations and Corporates.
- To hold responsibility for relationship management with our portfolio of small-medium sized funders (value of c£250,000-£300,000 annually).
- To support the Fundraising Manager and CEO with the preparation of larger and more complex funding bids, showing capacity to progress to leading a proportion of these in time.
- To support the Fundraising Manager with research into future funding opportunities.
- To create detailed, timely and impactful reports for funders, including evidence and evaluation of the projects supported by their donations.
- To lead on our sponsored runs, including 12 London marathon places, ensuring runners are supported with event sign-up, fundraising pages and targets, and social media content. (circa 20 runners total per year).
- To support the Fundraising Manager in the delivery of our May Fundraising gala event evening, June match funded online campaign, Christmas campaign, Corporate volunteering days, and such other future events as may be required.
- To play a key role in fundraising related social media content creation and posting, supporters’ newsletters, supporters’ survey and wider social media and communications functions.
Person specification to include:
- Some previous experience in a fundraising role.
- Demonstrable skills in building powerful relationships with Trusts, Foundations, Corporates and individual donors.
- Good experience in creating impactful monitoring reports for funders.

Here at Vision North Somerset, we support people who are visually and/or hearing impaired across North Somerset. With around 1,500 people affected by sight loss and/or hearing loss in our county, we offer a range of support services to enable people to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
Information, advice and guidance:
- Work one-on-one with adults and children with a visual impairment and their carers/ families, providing a comprehensive initial assessment in a person-centred, empathetic, and empowering manner.
- Provide internal and external referrals and deliver follow-up actions to enable maximum wellbeing for service users.
- Manage incoming and outgoing referrals internally and with a wide range of external providers, communicating promptly to manage cases effectively and safely.
- Work closely with team members and volunteers to collate and send Information Packs and other necessary communications such as appointment letters in accessible formats.
- Assess risks as needed and report any safeguarding concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.
Equipment:
- Be aware of and able demonstrate and advise on equipment for people with a visual impairment when needed and/or refer to other services.
- If needed during home/ care home visits, provide minor adaptations such as high visibility tape on steps or tactile markings on appliances.
Data management:
- Ensure that all service delivery to individuals and service user data is promptly and appropriately recorded and managed on the Vision North Somerset database, in accordance with procedures.
- Work with team members and volunteers to maintain accuracy of the Vision North Somerset service user database, including collecting data permissions and equality monitoring information from service users during visits.
Local networking and knowledge:
- Develop and maintain knowledge and resources on relevant services offered by organisations to people in North Somerset. Work with the Administrator to maintain records on online files and paper files (for example service leaflets).
- Occasionally attend local meetings, arrange meetings with staff from key local organisations or represent Vision North Somerset to develop mutual knowledge of local services.
Working as part of a team (common to all Vision North Somerset job descriptions)
· Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with Vision North Somerset staff (and volunteers if appropriate).
