A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Individual Giving Manager to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, for 12 months. This role is critical for the success of our income generation activities and acquisition of new supporters.

We are looking for a target driven team player who will skilfully and tactfully manage a variety of stakeholder relationships, including our face-to-face agency partners and volunteers. This is an exciting time to join the team as we look to build on successful growth of existing supporter acquisition initiatives. 

About the team 

This role sits within the Fundraising, Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Supporter Engagement, you will also work collaboratively with the Individual Giving Manager – Donor Development, Individual Giving Officer, Supporter Care Co-ordinator, and the Events team. You will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including our Branch Network and Regional Hubs to connect with new supporters across the UK and maximise opportunities.

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:

• Experience of developing and running successful individual giving programmes to recruit new donors. 
• Experience of managing external relationships at all levels, for example with suppliers, agencies, including effective negotiation on costs and contracts. 
• Experience of managing face-to-face fundraising programme. 
• Experience of lottery fundraising. 
• Experience of working with a supporter database.
• Numerical skills and ability to use Excel and/or PowerBI for tracking, reporting and analysis.

The For Baby’s Sake Trust seeks to appoint a Deputy Director of Operations. The Deputy Director will work with the Director of Operations to lead programme development and delivery across the Trust. We are looking for a talented fundraiser, with a background in the cultural sector to join the Gardens, Libraries & Museums (GLAM) Team within the Development and Alumni Engagement team of the University of Oxford.

You will be working with such iconic institutions as the Pitt Rivers Museum, the Oxford Botanic Gardens, the History of Science Museum and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.  In this role in any given week you might see a dodo, extraordinary thousand-year old Chinese ceramics, insects collected by Darwin, the first scientifically described dinosaur and drawings by John Ruskin, as well as work on projects involving saving the largest flower in the world or supporting world-leading restitution work.

With an annual distribution of approx. £240,000 in small grants, the Trust plays a vital role in nurturing cultural heritage and artistic endeavours. As part of its ongoing commitment to excellence, the Trust is transitioning to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2024.

As the sole employee of The Leche Trust, the Grants Director will spearhead the Trust's operations and day to day management, providing invaluable support to the Trustees while managing relationships with external stakeholders and funding networks. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in administering grants, overseeing governance and secretarial duties, managing financial administration, and facilitating effective communication both internally and externally.

Example of responsibilities:

• Manage the grant programme and smaller funds for conservation bursaries and research projects.

The Grants Director requires an ability to work independently, self-direct and prioritise.

We're looking for someone who's experienced in grant making process and systems, who also has knowledge of good practice in charity administration and governance. They will require excellent communication skills and have some experience working directly with a board of trustees. We're also looking for someone who has a good understanding of either the UK performing arts sector or the UK heritage conservation sector.

You will be responsible for sourcing and delivering contracts and partnerships essential for the charity’s sustainability by advancing our digital outreach and nurturing new partnerships and securing sustainable funds for innovative models of support. 

What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families. 
• Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
• Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids. 
• Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services. 
• Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery.  Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability. 
• Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
• Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best. 
• Model and lead effective communications with all colleagues that bring to life the charity’s values and behaviours. Support colleagues to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practice are evidenced in service design and delivery. 
• Act as an ambassador for Kids on key platforms, carrying out media work as required; promote the charity’s products, services and work; and draw from services expertise to influence public policy and legislation relevant to disabled children and their families. 

Essential Criteria – Demonstrated history of leadership in service provision, service evolution, or change management; adeptness in fostering relationships and/or experience in business development/sales.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting; manage financial risks, investments, and reserves.

• Provide financial guidance to the CEO, SLT, Trustees, and stakeholders; attend and present at key meetings.

We are seeking an experienced community engagement professional with a demonstrable track record of team leadership, inspiring education and engagement outcomes and successful grant fundraising.

The Head of Engagement will provide maternity cover for approximately 13 months and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team at SERT to drive how we influence, engage and empower people and communities to value and protect rivers in the South East.

Your Role

You will be responsible for No Limits’ finances, leading on strategic and operational financial management of the charity and preparing and analysing information relating to financial planning. You will have oversight of the finance team, leading No Limits to be a sustainable and efficient organisation.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will make an active contribution to the strategic direction, planning and leadership of No Limits in collaboration with the wider team. You’ll be a role model for our values and ensure the needs of children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.

There may be opportunity to provide strategic leadership oversight to our wider organisational infrastructure functions including IT, Business Support, Fundraising and Communications.

You’ll have the essentials of: 

• qualified accountant (CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) – consideration may be given to part-qualified with relevant experience
• Strategic and operational financial management experience, including; financial process, income and expenditure management, reporting, year-end, audit, statutory and management account production, establishing and monitoring effective financial controls
• An understanding of the charity environment and wider landscape
• Experience of costing projects with a full-cost recovery approach
• Ability to plan and prioritise own and others work to set deadlines, with good time management skills
• High level of IT competency to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and team working
• A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning

You may also have:

• Up-to-date knowledge of charity SORP regulations and requirements (highly desirable)
• Experience of payroll and pensions
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop people
• A successful track record of working with a Trustee Board or a leadership team
• Lived experience of one or more areas that No Limits support children and young people
