The role of the Volunteer and Infrastructure Officer is to support the Volunteer and Infrastructure Team Lead within the Voluntary and Community Support team providing high quality information, support and expertise in infrastructure support opportunities available to groups and organisations within Shropshire.

About the opportunity

Duties and responsibilities

Role Description
Volunteers
o Working with the CEO and Head of Support Services develop and deliver the Volunteering Strategy for the organisation.

o Oversee the recruitment of volunteers and ensure appropriate induction in collaboration with relevant staff.
o Deliver mandatory initial and ongoing training for volunteers.

o Where appropriate attend and present at external meetings.

We are seeking an experienced and influential leader to join us as our new Chief Executive. You will play a critical role in leading the organisation and representing PATA and its members in the ever-evolving Early Education and Children’s Play sectors.
PATA is the largest voluntary sector provider of support to the Early Years and Play (Out of School) sector in Gloucestershire. We are a Charity based in Gloucester with around 170 member settings and manage five of our own Early Years settings (PATA Managed Groups (PMGs)). Our mission is to support the development of high quality and accessible early education, play and provision for children, young people and their families.
At its heart, PATA is a people-based organisation and you will be joining a strong and committed team, both in the Head Office and the PMGs. You will lead the organisation, working with the Board of Trustees in setting the strategic vision, mission and priorities. You will be a voice for PATA and its members, building partnerships, participating in consultation processes, and challenging policy and other initiatives for the benefit of the sector, as and when appropriate.

The Inclusion Officer will be responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of the Trust’s social inclusion programmes across Northamptonshire, this includes the Premier League Kicks programme and anti-crime initiatives. The Premier League Kicks programme is a flagship targeted project, which uses the power of football and sports participation, alongside personal development activities, to help hard-to-reach young people in some of the most high-need areas.
The Inclusion Officer will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks Programme across Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and development of the Kicks programme, as well as other disability and inclusion projects that help to connect communities, leading a team to deliver these initiatives. In addition, the post holder will have frontline delivery responsibility, engaging with young people, leading on the delivery of youth engagement sessions, and the delivery of educational workshops in the local community.
These will be based on themes including knife crime, equality, anti-social behaviour and mental health. You’ll be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives.
Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. We are a multi-award-winning, creative, and innovative organisation, and the Database Officer is a role at Al-Khair Foundation, sitting within the Database team and delivering on a range of database tasks and processes utilising our Salesforce database.
We’re looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of database systems and who understands their importance to organisations like Al-Khair Foundation. We seek someone who is naturally process-driven and has a great eye for detail. You will be responsible for specific monthly processes, such as organisation income reconciliation and ongoing data uploads and cleansing for the Fundraising teams. You will also become a champion for Salesforce and understand the importance of CRM to help Al-Khair Foundation achieve our goals and provide a better service to our donors, supporters, and participants.
Your Role
Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.
You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.
Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.
Your Responsibilities
- Delivering the monthly data reconciliation and income reconciliation processes, which include downloading and uploading data files.
- Supporting the Fundraising teams with their monthly income recording and reconciliation.
- Liaising with external agencies and the Finance team.
- Checking for and correcting inaccuracies and updating supporter records.
- Running reports for the Fundraising and Finance teams.
- Maintaining and carrying out regular database processes, including data cleansing.
- Supporting the Database Coordinator and the Senior Data Manager to encourage best-practice use of the database across the organisation, including assisting with onboarding and new user training and being on hand for day-to-day technical support when the Database Coordinator is unavailable.

Dog A.I.D. is recruiting for the exciting new role of Programme Support and Engagement Officer. The post holder will play a key role across client support and volunteer engagement functions within the charity. They will work alongside our operations and training teams to support and engage our existing network of volunteer trainers and support them effectively to ensure their long-term retention. As well as providing administration for our existing volunteer CPD offer, the post-holder will support the roll-out, administration and evaluation of two crucial new projects, a trainer mentoring programme and an in-house assessor’s course.
The Programme Support and Engagement Officer will also develop trusting and empathetic relationships with our clients, engaging and supporting them as they navigate the Assistance Dog training programme.
This role is person-centred and focused on building great relationships with clients and volunteers. You will often be the first point of contact for volunteers and clients contacting the charity, so an empathetic, diplomatic and professional approach is essential, as well as excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Dog A.I.D. has a small staff team so it is essential that the post-holder is a strong team member who is proactive and self-motivated. They need to be able to see “the bigger picture”, identify priorities and use their initiative to “get on and do” what needs to be done. Dog Assistance in Disability (A.I.D.) is a unique organisation, empowering disabled people to train their own pet dogs, supported by professional dog trainers as volunteers.
Dog A.I.D. was established in 1992 to assist people with physical disabilities, improving their quality of life by helping them train their own pet dogs to provide assistance with day-to-day tasks.
In 1996, the Dog A.I.D. Scheme was launched nationally at Crufts and today has a team of staff, volunteer trainers and assessors based across the country supporting over 168 Assistance Dog partnerships, both in training and fully qualified, with our office base in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
As of May 2024, there are currently 98 fully qualified Dog A.I.D. dogs throughout the country, with 70 more in training with 95 voluntary Dog A.I.D. Trainers. The training takes up to two years with both dog and disabled owner (‘client’) receiving specialist education from our network of trainers and attaining fully accredited Assistance Dog status through three distinct stages.
Dog A.I.D. is a member of Assistance Dogs UK, a voluntary coalition of Assistance Dog charities that aims to promote the freedom, independence and rights of people with assistance dogs across the UK. All Assistance Dogs UK dogs adhere to the highest training and welfare standards as set out by Assistance Dogs International and the International Guide Dogs Federation.
This is an exciting time for the charity which has a strong team in place led by a new CEO who took up post in October 2023. Last year, the charity developed and launched its new 3-year strategic plan which has an ambitious plan for growth to meet the incredible demand for its life-changing services.

Technical Officer
We are working with an International Conservation charity, who have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer whose role will be to support the Conservation Programmes team.
Position: GIS Conservation Technical Officer

About the Role
The charity is at the forefront of international conservation efforts through their programme of land purchase and land acquisition in collaboration with their international partners, including the development of carbon and other payments for ecosystem services projects. They are seeking a Technical Officer whose role will be to support the Conservation Programmes team, working closely with the Senior Technical Officer and Director of Conservation for the development and monitoring of conservation projects and communication of the organisation’s conservation impact.
About You
We are looking for applicants who are passionate about wildlife conservation and committed to furthering the mission and ethos of the charity, you will need to have the following skills and experience:
- An excellent knowledge of spatial and ecological data analyses, and monitoring and GIS
- Ideally you will have experience in fieldwork and biodiversity conservation
- Be able to translate technical reports and assessments to a wide range of audiences
- The ability to work independently as well as in close collaboration with colleagues
- Good communication skills
