Salford Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Food is donated, sorted and packed at our warehouse, then delivered to our 7 centres across Salford, where teams of volunteers greet people as they pick up their food parcels. People can also access support and advice at our centres to help them maximise their income and ensure they are less likely to need to use the foodbank again.

You’ll be joining a friendly team of 6 part-time staff, 6 Trustees and approx. 80 volunteers, all dedicated to supporting people facing hardship. We are part of The Trussell Trust, a nationwide network of foodbanks.

Rate of pay: £21,000 per annum for 22.5 hours per week (£35,000 FTE pro-rata)

Full-time / part-time: Part time role 22.5 hours per week (flexible, home based within the North West with some contact hours at Salford Foodbank warehouse/office)

Temporary / permanent: Fixed term contract role for 18 months, with opportunity to extend based on funding

•  This is an exciting opportunity to join Salford Foodbank in a new role, accountable to the Foodbank Manager and the board of trustees. As the need for Foodbank services continues to grow Salford Foodbank has developed and expanded. The staff and volunteer team have increased, and we have embarked on new projects to support those that use the Foodbank.
• In order to maintain our current services and further develop, we need to grow our annual fundraised income.
• Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income, reach, and support from grant giving trusts and foundations as well as corporate organisations across Salford and Greater Manchester.  
• Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of growing income and building relationships with trusts and foundations as well as corporate partners to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. You’ll have the capacity to create and craft compelling funding proposals that successfully engage and attract donations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations funders for Salford Foodbank. You’ll forge relationships with those funders, develop and submit timely and winning funding applications.
• You’ll manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and foundations funders, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can maximising potential for further funding
• You’ll proactively identify, engage and build good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Alongside this you’ll deepen engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with existing corporate donors.
• Working with colleagues across Salford Foodbank, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding and partnership proposals that can successfully engage grant giving trusts, foundations and corporate partners and that can successfully align our vision and work with their needs, motivations, areas of interests and values.
• You’ll research potential funding opportunities from the local council and local authorities.
• You will develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio. You’ll establish a fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll work collaboratively with other Trussell Trust food banks across the Greater Manchester area, identifying and progressing opportunities for joint funding proposals and partnerships.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• You’ll be willing to carry out other reasonable duties contributing to the overall aims of the Foodbank.

Skills

• You’ll have good, established experience of trusts and foundations fundraising as well as corporate partnerships fundraising.

The Role
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will spearhead the expansion of our Corporate and Community Giving portfolio. This role involves enhancing relationships with current donors, partnerships with new businesses, and playing a critical role in our Fundraising & Trading Department. You will be instrumental in managing income streams projected to raise £150,000 this year, with ambitions for future growth. Your role will also encompass being a prominent figure in the community, delivering fundraising talks, attending networking events and being an advocate for Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports children across Sussex. We support babies, children, young people and their families at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex. 

We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors, nurses and other health professionals to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families.  This includes lifesaving medical equipment, support for parents and families, toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell. 

Originally set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, we have been supporting children for more than 55 years. In that time, we have supported nearly a million children and their families. As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, we work with the NHS, charity partners and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter how unwell they are.

About the role

In 2022 we launched our three-year strategic plan, which prioritised our activities to enable us to support more babies, children and teenagers. We are thrilled to embark on an exciting new project, the Rockinghorse Wellbeing Service, designed to proactively enhance the mental health and well-being of hundreds of children, young people, and families living in Sussex. This innovative service will be situated at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.

The Wellbeing Service Manager will be responsible for delivering certain activities based on their skills and experience, collaborating with third-party providers and volunteers for others. This may involve bedside activities to improve the experience of in-patients, as well as group activities within the hospital or out in the community.

Each activity will undergo careful planning and evaluation, incorporating the voices and perspectives of young people. This approach ensures that we provide the most impactful activities to meet their needs.

Our primary goal is to support children and young people managing various illnesses, conditions, and disabilities through activities that alleviate stress and foster connections with others undergoing similar experiences.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Wellbeing Service Manager to join our team and take the lead on this new service. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in elevating the overall wellbeing of our young patients. The position involves coordinating and implementing a diverse range of wellbeing activities and programs focused on fostering a positive and supportive environment within the hospital.

This role is part of the Projects & Operations team, one of three teams within the charity, alongside the Supporter Engagement team and the Communications team.

Duties of the role 

Develop and Implement the Wellbeing Service

· The Wellbeing Service Manager will form part of a steering committee of senior and experienced NHS staff who are helping to develop and shape the service.

· Design and execute engaging wellbeing programs tailored to the unique needs of children, their families, and hospital staff.

· Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to integrate wellbeing activities into the overall care plan for paediatric patients.

· Demonstrate proficiency in leading consultations, developing comprehensive plans, and monitoring progress against established goals.

· Work collaboratively with Rockinghorse and the hospital's volunteering service to facilitate meaningful engagements for children and young people, as well as provide appropriate signposting to other services when needed.

Coordinate Events and Activities

· Organise and oversee events, workshops, and recreational activities that promote mental, emotional, and physical wellness.

· Ensure activities are inclusive, age-appropriate and delivered in a way that is trauma informed and enhances wellbeing.

· Develop and manage a database of wellbeing activities to support service delivery and to scrutinise the wellbeing value of each activity as part of our impact and evaluation of activities.

· Ensure compliance with appropriate policies and procedures in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, adhering to best practices in all activities, and working within established frameworks related to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional practice.

Community Engagement

· Foster partnerships with local organisations, volunteers, and community resources to expand the reach and impact of wellbeing initiatives.

· Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to enhance the support network available to children and their families.

Individual Sessions

· Provide support to children, young people, and families managing various illnesses, conditions, and disabilities, utilising activities that alleviate stress and encourage connections with peers.

· Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address specific wellbeing needs of individual patients.

· Take the lead on child protection measures.

Training and Education

· Support the continued professional development of your team and lead them in a solution focussed way to identify and shape areas of improvement for the project.

· Conduct training sessions for hospital staff on incorporating wellbeing principles into their roles and interactions with patients.

· Create educational materials and resources to promote wellbeing awareness and practices.

Monitoring and Evaluation

· Support the development of a Theory of Change and an evaluation model/framework for the wellbeing programme.

· Establish metrics (outputs, outcomes and impact) to assess the effectiveness of wellbeing programs and activities (against the TOC and evaluation framework).

· Gather qualitative and qualitative feedback from patients, families, and staff to continuously improve and tailor future initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting

· Maintain accurate records of wellbeing activities, participation, and outcomes.

· Prepare regular reports highlighting the impact and success of wellbeing programs.

· You will assist Rockinghorse colleagues in providing information for marketing purposes, informing funding applications, providing support for funder visits to the service and any other duties appropriate to the role and in line with the needs of the charity.

Person specification 

Essential experience, skills and knowledge for the role: 

1. Qualified in a relevant area (eg youth work, social work, nursing, counselling, mental health) or with equivalent professional experience.

2. Experience of working with children and young people and delivering group sessions and activities for young people, using non-clinical interventions to support positive outcomes.

3. Demonstrable understanding of project management and experience managing multiple, complex projects, including budget development and day to day management, project planning and delivery, and project evaluation (setting, monitoring and managing targets, objectives, KPIs and activity plans).

We are looking for an Interim External Affairs Manager to help lead our communications activities from 24 June 2024 to 31 December, while our permanent External Affairs Manager is on sabbatical. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). At Ambitious about Autism, we’re currently looking for a Research Manager to join our External Affairs team.

You’ll conduct and commission research projects, publish and disseminate research findings to ensure we are maximising our reach and impact, and ensure that we are using relevant and up-to-date evidence throughout our work.

You’ll identify key research needs and questions to continually improve our activities and impact for autistic children and young people, drafting briefs and managing independent researchers to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Leaders in Community (LiC) is an award-winning youth-led organisation with over 15 years' experience in delivering youth leadership and youth social action campaigns, supporting local young people challenge and overcome inequalities and barriers to progression.

As the Partnerships and Services Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and as such will be a member of the leadership team, to deliver Leaders in Community’s (LiC) work to empower young people and communities to improve quality of life and build a sustainable future in line with the Charity’s vision and mission. Working alongside the leadership team, you will oversee, and capacity build the services being delivered in our vibrant community centre, which is located in the historic East End of London.

We are searching for a new strategic leader at Bloody Good Period. The Head of Communications and Campaigns will play a pivotal and strategic role in delivering creative and effective campaigns and comms that align with our wider influencing work, maximising opportunities to influence change as we approach a General Election, and beyond. 

Bloody Good Period’s brand and communications have had huge traction and influence in the last few years. Our mission of menstrual equity resonates strongly with a range of stakeholders including individual supporters, corporates, parliamentarians and celebrities, and we have developed a strong brand which is frequently sought after for high-profile partnerships.

We are also dialling up the activist movement quality of our work, building on strong foundations in terms of our brand, reputation and relationships. We think menstrual equity is a bedrock of renewing and improving the way the UK works, and the way we campaign for that and communicate our thoughts and demands will always be fundamental to our success in achieving our mission.

The Head of Communications and Campaigns will be working across the organisation, and crucially alongside our Experts by Experience forum, strengthening our communication strategy whilst developing and implementing an ambitious campaign strategy to engage and mobilise both existing and new supporters.

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting, varied position working with Emmaus communities located in the South East region of the UK to increase their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with the Emmaus communities in your patch to identify their communications needs and plan and deliver a mix of work to help achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and draw on each other’s experiences to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

A typical working week within this role can include:

· A weekly meeting with other Regional Communications Officers to catch up and share ideas and work of interest

· A visit to an Emmaus community to conduct interviews and capture photography and video

· Writing and sending press releases

· Scheduling social media content

· Creating graphics and marketing materials using Canva

· Updating community websites using WordPress

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.

This is an exciting and rewarding role for someone who thrives working with different people and communities. The successful applicant will be well organised and able to juggle multiple projects, relationships and campaigns.
