Job description

Brain Tumour Research are one of the most innovative and ambitious medical research fundraising charities in the UK. They are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours, through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year. Meanwhile raising integral funds to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!

The Role

The Community Fundraising role is crucial in building and sustaining the supporter base and providing excellent stewardship, across the East Midlands region. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to further their career in fundraising.

Duties include:  

  • Supporting the delivery of the charities strategic plans and objectives
  • Generating and growing income through community fundraising activities, contributing to a team target of £1.4 million.
  • Raising awareness and engaging people with the work of Brain Tumour Research.
  • Recruiting and supporting the fundraising of individuals, challenge event participants, Fundraising Groups and Charity of the Year partnerships.

The Person

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser with experience in stewardship and donor management. You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse sensitively and empathetically with people who may be going through traumatic experience.

Previous experience in fundraising is desirable however, we are also keen to speak with people who have transferable skills including meeting financial targets, working proactively, independently and flexibly. You should also have the ability to manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, whilst effectively finding solutions to solving problems. If this is you then we would love to hear from you.
