We are working in partnership with The Honeypot Children’s Charity, a UK charity who are looking for an experienced Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants to research, identify and deliver six figure level income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, the Honeypot continuously supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.

This newly created role the Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants will lead and develop a new income stream for the Charity, researching and developing a sustainable and key pipeline of six figure income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate a proven track record of succeeding six figure level gifts, with direct experience of researching the National Lotteries and statutory landscapes to explore opportunities to develop six figure plus proposals for Statutory funders, or equivalent,
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to inspire through compelling storytelling and deliver exceptional bid evaluation and proposal writing abilities to produce thorough and compelling grant proposals and reports that communicate aims and impact.
• Exceptional donor stewardship skills to a six-figure portfolio of statutory donors, implementing effective donor journeys and an excellent supporter experience ensuring their continued and uplifted support.
• Experience of interpreting charitable financial accounts and preparing budgets for potential funders and for grant reports.
• Have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and meticulous record keeping with strong planning, project management and time management expertise.

We are excited to recruit a Community Organiser for our Abbey Parent Power project. This role offers a meaningful, paid professional development opportunity. The Brilliant Club will work in partnership with Cambridge Ahead, Abbey People, Cambridge City Council, Anglia Ruskin University and University of Cambridge to engage with parents in Abbey ward, Cambridge. The parental engagement model used will be based on the successful Parent Power South London and Oldham Parent Power projects.

Time and Resource Management:

Essential
  • Able to plan sessions in an organised and efficient manner and adhere to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent timekeeper, ensuring prompt arrival to meetings and 1-1s; well organised within 1-1s and sessions.
  • Capable of adapting quickly to new systems/ processes.

Desirable
  • Confident in using digital systems for delivery of online sessions in parent meetings.
  • Experience of creating resources.

External Stakeholder Knowledge and Management:

Essential
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Professional approach to problem solving with a range of stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Awareness of role as a visitor within a school and parent/carer community; understanding of the other commitments held by professionals within a school and by parent/carers.
  • Understanding of The Brilliant Club and Abbey People’s mission and the Widening Participation agenda nationally.

Desirable
  • Prior experience of community-focused work or hold a qualification at Level 4 or above (as listed here).
  • Understanding of and ability to relate to the barriers faced in the Abbey community and some of the ways these might be overcome.
  • Understanding of the current climate in the UK school system and some of the challenges young people and parent/carers might be facing.

Your role

As our new parent adviser you’ll  join our wonderful team in Wales as part of our Building Resilience Project.

In this part time, home-based role, you’ll have the opportunity to support and mentor parent carers, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are best for their families. You’ll also help create and deliver well-being workshops for parent carers to empower, inform, and reduce their stress and help increase their confidence so they are able to access the benefits they are entitled to.  And you’ll work in partnership with money advice organisations across Wales, to set up referrals for parent carers to make sure they get all the financial support they need.

What we’re looking for

• Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children in Wales.
• Ability to support and mentor parent carers to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are right for their families.
• Experience in creating, facilitating, and delivering workshops
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.
• Knowledge of issues relating to maximising income, accessing financial support, benefits, and other financial issues.
• Good communication, time management, and networking skills.
