Job Purpose

The purpose of the IT Manager role is to lead CR’s internal IT operations and infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the IT Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of our IT systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.

While the role is based in London, it needs to provide oversight to the global IT systems of the organisation, ensuring systems will function effectively in all operating contexts, taking into account issues such as internet bandwidth and electricity reliability.

The role is supported by an IT Officer who handles the majority of user-facing support issues, and can draw on a long-term part-time IT consultant who has a deep knowledge of the organisation’s IT systems and infrastructure. This allows the IT Manager to focus more on strategic planning information and infrastructure management, and IT project delivery.

The successful candidate will provide a balance of strategic and operational skills. While they will be able to draw on the IT Officer and Consultant for much hands-on work, they will, at times, need to take on more of the operational tasks. At the same time, they must possess the judgement and insight to understand the technical landscape, determine organisational needs, and identify and engage external specialists as needed.

Person Specification

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of current IT operating environment, including hardware and software, and upcoming innovations and challenges.

• Understanding of risks and threats, particularly in a context of working with partners in states with a history of cyber-attacks.

• Understanding of how AI tools can be utilised for improving organisational effectiveness and efficiency.

Experience

• Experience in planning and budgeting for an IT function, looking ahead at what is required and ensuring plans are developed to respond to emerging changes.

• Experience in establishing and maintaining IT systems on an organisational basis.

• Experience of working in a global organisation, ensuring systems function in contexts with limited technology, electricity and internet bandwidth

• Experience in maintaining cybersecurity, dealing with malicious threats, and maintaining organisational functioning.

• Experience in maintaining necessary licensing and authorisations, including Cyber Essentials certification.

• Experience of working with Macs and Google Workspace would be an advantage.

Skills

• Ability to engage with other departments to understand their needs.

• Ability to adapt systems and processes to ensure they meet the needs of users.

• Project management skills and the ability to roll out changes in a way that ensures they are adopted.

• Documentation skills, with the ability to prepare effective policies, guidelines and records, including disaster recovery plans.

You will have the ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. You have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy, with the ability to progress to specialist level knowledge. You will be able to carry out casework related interviews, maintaining detailed case records and offering advice and support to clients so they can make informed decisions as well as deliver group workshops and presentations.

To provide high quality support as a non-clinical member of NHS' multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team  (CMHT) to an allocated group of adult service users (18+) with moderate to severe mental illness within the community. To carry out duties in line with Hestia's and

You bring a solid foundation of professional and practical experience, underpinned by an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or at least two years of hands-on experience within a mental health setting. Collaborative by nature, you work effectively alongside professionals, services, and community partners to deliver holistic care. You have sound knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and the Mental Health Act, enabling you to provide safe, structured, and effective support.

Your excellent communication, relationship-building, and group facilitation skills allow you to engage meaningfully with service users and colleagues alike. Confident in using IT systems and electronic case management tools, you maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records. Resilient and adaptable, you thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining professional boundaries and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach in all aspects of your work.

About the Team: Community Team

There are three Community Teams - North, West and East. These teams of housing rights workers engage with and activate communities in delivering insight and evidence and targeted interventions, to address local issues and contribute towards the Shelter Scotland Housing Emergency campaign for structural change. We work to the three equal parts of our Community Purpose:

• We challenge bad practice: In the face of Scotland’s housing emergency, we will hold local duty bearers to account and defend people’s rights.
• We build capacity: The supply issues at the heart of the Housing Emergency in Scotland create an unsustainable demand for housing services in Shelter Scotland, across the sector and in sectors traditionally beyond housing. We build capacity within affected organisations and groups to respond with and for the people they support.
• We strengthen our case for change: We work closely with our Comms and Advocacy colleagues by providing useful insights and context about what is happening locally. We create opportunities for people with lived experience of housing and homelessness to lend us stories which bring the real issues behind the statistics to life.

Our North Team covers regions from Fife northwards and operates out of our two regional offices in Dundee and Aberdeen with the team spread across these locations.

In our North Community Team, we are engaged in our local communities to understand the housing issues people are facing to gather insight and evidence around the broken system, and we apply our expertise to work toward solutions. We seek to work with and within communities to build capacity and drive action around housing rights and the housing emergency. Lived experience of the housing emergency is at the heart of everything we do.

About you

Already with some relevant experience, you’re used to working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, have great time management skills and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. The ability to listen to, engage and empower individuals and communities will be key. So will your willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account – including influencing decision makers. Adept at presenting information and arguments in clear and compelling ways, you have a real enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations too. What’s more, you’re a creative problem solver with an innate ability to gather evidence and identify insights, issues and trends and are proficient using Word, Excel, email, the internet and in-house CRM systems.

Victim Support is recruiting for a Community Engagement and Training Officer. This vital role will support the specialist domestic abuse and stalking team in Bedfordshire, through engagement by leading on raising awareness of our local services through social media, attending events, delivering training to a range of partners and importantly leading on our client engagement activities. As a Service Delivery Assistant you will:

• Provide high quality administrative support to the team and service.
• Update and maintain manual and computerised database and case management systems and records in accordance with the service's internal policies/procedures and organisational standards.

Our client provides supported accommodation for adults who have mental health needs and support for alcohol/substance use needs. Their clients have a mix of medium to high support needs and provide 24/7 support across two houses next door to each other, as well as floating support across 4 properties and sublets in Portsmouth. Thier sublet service support provides housing management support to clients living in self-contained units across the city to manage a tenancy independently.

The role 

As their Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will lead on the case management of clients and be part of a team that supports them in keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals.  You’ll provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps. 

You will produce and regularly review comprehensive client-based risk assessments along with engaging with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining constructive working relationships to maximise the opportunities available to clients.

Helping their client’s to manage their finances, pay rent, manage arrears and access benefits will also form part of your role and you will provide encouragement as well as signpost clients to the local community and to resources relevant to their aspirations including education, training, employment activity or volunteering.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality services to the women and their children living in our refuges and survivors of domestic abuse supported by our community outreach service.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.

Our service provision in Derby includes culturally specific service for South Asian women as well as a specialist multiple disadvantage support worker who support survivors facing enhanced needs.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based and the outreach service staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges and the outreach service always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant criminal and civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with staff that support survivors and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse and other gender-based violence.
