Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) works with a community of global alumni and donors to  deepen their ties with York and each other, and encourage them to support the University through York Giving.  This role is part of the Individual Philanthropy Team, which manages major individual philanthropy and the legacy giving programme, working closely with the other OPPA teams:

Corporate and Foundation Philanthropy: developing long term, strategic partnerships with philanthropic  corporate and foundation supporters.

Fundraising Programmes: managing mass fundraising appeals, crowdfunding campaigns, community  fundraising and student projects.

Operations and Experience: providing business intelligence, information and insight, governance and  stewardship of supporter and alumni relationships, and managing all mass communications with alumni and  supporters. 

York for Life: developing alumni communities, volunteering and alumni engagement programmes in  support of the University’s strategic aims. 

OPPA is part of the University’s Directorate of External Relations, and works closely with other sections of the  directorate, which are Marketing, Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions, Communications, Public Engagement  and Events, and International Student Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility.

About the Role

The role of Philanthropy Manager is to inspire and encourage philanthropic income from major individual donors to the University of York.  You will work to build engagement and involvement of potential major donors and colleagues across the University to develop and deliver a pipeline of significant philanthropic gifts to York Giving’s priority projects. 

You will manage a portfolio of major donor prospects and have responsibility and accountability for fund management and other priority projects for philanthropic funding, including liaising with academic theme coordinators.

This is a demanding and rewarding role that requires resilience and a long term view.  The post holder will work to individual financial cash and pledge targets and KPIs based on meetings, moves, proposals and asks made.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

• Proven experience in a relationship management role, with both internal and external stakeholders.  Ease at working with people and developing personable relationships with a wide range of people.

The MSF UK Digital Team is made up of 10 specialist staff who act as an internal agency and provide expertise, project management, training and support to all other departments. We are part of a global network of Digital specialists within MSF which shares knowledge, expertise and best practice, coordinated by the International Digital Engagement Unit based in the International Office in Geneva. 

The International Legal Department (ILD) of MSF is currently the only intersectional department of MSF. Primarily dedicated to support MSF operations, the ILD rationalises legal support and provides high-level legal advice to all MSF entities; its field of expertise is varied, including international humanitarian law (IHL), medico-legal issues, medical research, labour law, commercial and administrative law, trademarks and international governance. The ILD is divided in six units specialised in different areas of law. As the Digital Publications Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the digital publication of the updated Practical Guide to Humanitarian Law, written by Françoise Bouchet-Saulnier and available on the website in four languages. This includes managing editorial workflows, coordinating with author and translators, and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of content. The position ensures the Guide is produced to a high standard and effectively disseminated to its target audience. 

The role is responsible for ensuring the effective dissemination and understanding of the organisation’s handbook by leading communications around updates and coordinating the development and facilitation of training sessions. This includes managing the publication of content on the organisation’s website in relevant languages and promoting updates through a range of channels such as webinars, discussions, social media and newsletters.

The role

In this senior role, you will lead the development, optimisation and day-to-day management of the Private Care website and associated digital products.

We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers. They will be responsible for approximately 20 puppies from the age of around 8 weeks through to approximately 16 months of age. Ensuring they receive the highest standard of socialisation and training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.

Responsibilities

Training and Development of Puppies

• Take responsibility for a group of puppies allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area
• When required, take dogs home during the training period to ensure continuous development and reinforcement of training routines.
• Provide training that adheres to ADUK regulations and MDD quality standards in accordance with timescales and targets.
• To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area
• Conduct regular training sessions with assistance dog puppies in training in various environments to ensure they are confident and responsive in real-world settings
• To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach desired behaviours and modify unwanted behaviours
• Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and training
• Support and assist when required with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership.
• To successfully prepare the puppy to pass the relevant Assistance Dog assessments
• Where necessary, highlight to your line manager, any dogs that are not progressing sufficiently through the training programme

Socialiser Support

• Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance, support and instruction to socialisers on effective work and training with their assistance dogs.
• Provide general health care advice within your core working hours.

Socialiser Recruitment

• When required, assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers.
• When  required, to assess prospective new volunteer socialisers, including home, workplace, pet dog and children assessments.

Other

• Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records.
• Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area.
• Share best practice with colleagues across the charity.
• Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience in training Assistance Dogs
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in dog training
• Basic theory of practical dog training
• Law in relation to dogs
• Knowledge of medical conditions relevant to puppies between 8 weeks and 2 years of age
• Dog and human psychology
• Health and safety implications of dog and socialiser handling
• Experience and understanding of ADUK, ADI regulations and MDD's internal quality standards

Ability to demonstrate high quality judgement and a proven track record in relation to the following:

• Dog training matters including the analysis of temperaments, appropriate training methods and requirements necessary to maintain public perception in assistance dogs
• Solutions to training and behavioural problems
• Socialiser training including the ability to assess each person’s preferred learning style and adapt as appropriate your training approach, the specific programmes to be followed,
• Strong and clear teaching and instructing skills
• Ability to plan work, be organised and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues and socialisers
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers and other colleagues
• High level of IT literacy and report writing skills including experience of using Microsoft based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Power Point

This role sits at the heart of supporter engagement, shaping how supporters connect, engage and stay loyal over time. You’ll lead the development of a unified, multi-channel supporter experience strategy, using insight, innovation and collaboration to deepen relationships and maximise lifetime value.

As a Supporter Experience Manager you will:

• Design and implement a multi-channel Supporter Experience Strategy, delivering a unified supporter journey framework across the organisation.
• Lead the development and adoption of integrated supporter journeys that enhance satisfaction, trust, loyalty and income growth.
• Map and evaluate existing supporter journeys, identifying pain points and recommending improvements to deliver better outcomes.
• Use supporter feedback, insight and performance data to continuously refine journeys and communication approaches.
• Drive innovation by exploring emerging trends, tools and technologies to enhance supporter engagement.
• Identify and maximise cross sell opportunities, ensuring supporters are engaged in meaningful and personalised ways.
• Collaborate closely with data and insight colleagues to develop CRM capabilities that support personalised, data led engagement.
• Own and maintain the supporter journey matrix, ensuring consistency and quality across campaigns and initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training that equips teams to design, implement and improve supporter journeys effectively.

To be successful, you must have experience:

Essential

• Significant experience in a supporter experience role or delivering supporter journey strategy.
• Strong background in multi-channel communications and content delivery.
• Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to translate insight into action.
• Experience designing and refining end to end supporter journeys.
• Proven project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: £53,549 for London, £48,576 for all other locations.

Location:  London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Warrington hybrid working , 2 days in the office.

About the Role

2026 marks 100 years since Gunnersbury Park was opened as a public park, and Gunnersbury Museum and Park Development Trust are looking to hire a freelance development manager to help us make the most of our centenary year. 

We are looking for an experienced development professional to join our team on a freelance basis as part of an Arts Council funded project. This role will be a real opportunity to become embedded in an organisation at the beginning of a transformative period, as we focus our energies on raising awareness of the great work of GMPDT.

The successful candidate will lead GMPDT towards increased financial resilience by identifying new funding opportunities and managing the development of a new fundraising campaign.

They will work with staff and volunteers to develop a ‘project bank’ of fundable projects across the Museum and Park and identify appropriate funding streams for each.

They will also identify one key project to launch Gunnersbury’s first fundraising campaign, working with freelancers/subcontractors to create supporting materials for the chosen campaign.

About You

Experience

• Experience of fundraising and donor engagement in museum/heritage sector and/or environmental sector
• Proven ability to create and deliver successful fundraising campaigns
• Experience of writing compelling cause messaging, or managing the delivery of cause messaging

Key Responsibilities

• Audit the existing fundraising/development functions of the organisation, and identify any gaps or missed opportunities
• Working with the Project Board hold workshops with staff and volunteers to develop a ‘project bank’ of fundable ideas, which will include detail of the ideas, potential funding sources and timeline for completion
• Develop new cause messaging, and help to foster a culture of identifying key stories to share with our audiences
• Work with the project team to identify a single project to anchor a new fundraising campaign
• Develop a suite of digital and print content to support the fundraising campaign, and train existing team on the best way to deliver messaging around the campaign
• Report regularly to the project board on the progress of the work stream, and identify any project delivery risks

Fundraising Officer

We are seeking a motivated and creative fundraiser to join a UK conservation charity part time and build meaningful supporter relationships.

Position: Fundraising Officer

Salary: £30,000 to £34,000 pro rata, starting salary up to £32,100 depending on experience

Location: Remote with a monthly co-working day in Diss, Norfolk (travel expenses paid)

Hours: 16 hours per week across a minimum of 3 days

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow individual giving for a specialist conservation charity dedicated to protecting the UK’s wild songbird populations. You will lead on planning and delivering multichannel fundraising appeals, maximising income from individual giving, membership and selected fundraising products. You will develop engaging donor communications, improve supporter journeys and champion a data-led approach to fundraising.

Working closely with colleagues in fundraising, supporter care, communications and operations, you will play a key part in stewarding supporters, increasing regular giving, strengthening membership retention and supporting the charity’s growing corporate partnerships and weekly lottery activity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead on individual giving activity and deliver multichannel appeals from concept to evaluation
• Develop and implement plans to market individual membership and reduce attrition

As part of the NFCC People Culture and Leadership (PCL) Hub this post plays a key role in supporting and enabling fire and rescue services (FRS) to drive organisational and culture change.

The postholder will use their subject matter knowledge, skills and experience alongside the principles of project management to support the design, development and implementation of a range of PCL products and services. Whilst the role supports all PCL activities, the role will have a focus on Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)-related projects, therefore experience in this area is particularly desirable. Moreover we require someone with relevant knowledge and experience in one or more fields of the people/HR/OD/EDI profession.

Evaluating the effectiveness of the NFCC’s PCL products and their benefits to FRS’s will be a key aspect of the role and the postholder will undertake a range of evaluation activities to identify improvements and make recommendations for improvement. They will be responsible for implementing agreed changes and maintaining PCL products to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose.

Stakeholder engagement is a key element of the role by building effective relationships and establishing networks to improve the uptake/adoption of PCL products and drive culture change.
