Each year, over 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer. When a child is diagnosed, lives are turned upside down for the entire family. Getting well again can be a long and challenging journey. We understand the impacts of a childhood cancer diagnosis, and our mission is to bring light and hope to families facing childhood cancer in Yorkshire.
Candlelighters is conducting a research project to understand the needs and challenges faced by the families we support throughout their journey. A New Icon
We level the playing field for athletic sponsorships enabling more athletes to reach their full potential.
Large brands and agencies dominate the sports sponsorship marketplace. As a result, many athletes, including female, disabled, and LGBTQ+ athletes from various ethnicities or lower socioeconomic backgrounds, are often left without sponsors and access to what they need to reach their potential. In addition, many sponsors need help finding and developing a genuine connection with an athlete, which leads to issues connecting with their audiences. There is no way to search for sponsors or athletes directly without involving costly agencies. Transparency and self-management are crucial in democratising the marketplace. The opportunity to make this sector more equitable is now.
We have built an innovative self-managed athlete-sponsorship platform focused on unique connections between sponsors and athletes. Sponsors, athletes, and fans can sign-up. Athletes create a public profile page with information and media about themselves. Sponsors create campaigns which athletes & teams search and apply for. In addition, all users can follow athletes who post on our social feed. Negotiation steps are in-built before the contract is confirmed; secure payment is taken for the sponsorship amount and held securely. As milestones are reached, an athlete's payment percentage is released, protecting both sides. Our model enables the fair distribution of power.
Hello, potential volunteer, This is our second attempt at taking on volunteers; the last time, we didn't do so well with organizing and keeping volunteers engaged—we bit off more than we could chew and didn't do a great job of role management! We were also impacted by hitting a funding wall and a general lack of resources, so we crashed and burned, but we did learn! We know the radio stations and publications that are our target audience, but we have no experience running a PR campaign without paying a professional! We are looking for someone with experience who can plan and book these appearances for us without a budget and make the most of this opportunity for the athlete and timing of this big event.

Noms makes daily cooking easy. They solve the question “What’s for dinner?” by automatically converting online cooking content into intuitive, easy-to-follow and step-by-step recipes. With the app, you can search for recipes by what’s in your fridge, customise recipes to suit your needs, swap ingredients you do not like or have, and display quantities in intuitive measurements (handfuls, spoons, etc.). You can cook these recipes with our easy-to-follow format that shows only essential information (no ads, long descriptions, or touching the phone). And, you can optimise your groceries to make more food with less money and zero waste.
They are a two-person team building this from zero and are excited to meet you and work with you! They are Austria-Bulgarian and French-Malaysian with a good load of experience working in the Nordic and Silicon Valley startup culture, so they cherish multicultural teams and making team members feel welcome.
They aree raising funds this year and will expand the full-time team once we do. That being said, we're also looking for volunteers who could potentially join Noms as full-time team members in the future and be compensated accordingly.

- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to act as a spokesperson for the organisation, in particular towards bodies such as the Houses of Parliament, medical associations, the media etc.

Our Gravesend Lifeboat station fundraising branch is currently putting together an exciting events calander for the year ahead and would like to recruit a volunteer to support them in proactively seeking out opportunities to advertise recruitment vacancies and respond to follow up enquiries.

These NWR groups will meet monthly in a local pub or bar with a set theme – this theme acts as an icebreaker and ensures that no two meetings feel the same! Themes could cover a wide range of topics and are designed to be light-hearted and an opener for conversations that could lead anywhere (and usually do!).

Your role would be to run the group: promote it, schedule and run the meetings and respond to enquiries.

Teach A Man To Fish is an international educational charity with one all-encompassing mission: to empower young people with the skills they need to succeed in school, work and life. We use our school-business model to guide young people and their teachers in the planning and setting up of student-led school businesses that are both educational and profitable. Since 2006, we have supported over 438,000 young people and trained 19,000 teachers through our programmes to set up school businesses which have generated more than $2,000,000 in income! In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting schools worldwide, we launched a new programme: the Enterprise Adventure, a free mobile app for teenagers who want to learn about business and have a positive impact on their community.

We are looking for one or two volunteers to support the work of our International Programmes team. The ideal candidate will be available to volunteer for 15 hours per week for at least 2 months (ideally more). If you are based in London, you are welcome to volunteer from our office in Finsbury Park, otherwise you may volunteer from home if you prefer.
You will have the opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of tasks depending on your skills, interests and the time of the year. These include but are not limited to:

Helping to deliver our marketing strategy (e.g. social media content creation, website updates, carrying out research to increase our reach)

Helping to deliver our communications and engagement strategy to programme participants (liaising with and engaging young people and teachers through newsletters, blog posts, social media, videos and WhatsApp)

Supporting with designing educational materials and thinking of business quizzes (knowledge-based and trivia-based)

Supporting with coordinating the review of School Enterprise Challenge, the Enterprise Adventure and the Trash To Cash Challenge submissions and sending feedback and certificates

Contributing to the Monitoring & Evaluation of the programmes through data analysis to inform donor reports and programme improvements

Gathering and analysing feedback from programme participants (for example through surveys and ‘user testing’ sessions on Zoom)
The successful candidate(s) will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive can-do attitude, with lots of initiative.

Terms:
Location: Our office in London (Finsbury Park) or remote.
Hours: Ideally 15 hours per week. You can fit your volunteering around other commitments (e.g. holidays, studies or another job) and choose whether you would prefer to volunteer for 2 or more full days a week, or spread the hours over more weekdays. The time commitment is flexible, so please state your availability in your cover letter.
Length: Minimum 2 months with the possibility of extension. Starting at the end of July/early August. A commitment of 3 months is preferred.
Basis: Voluntary position. Lunch allowance will be provided.

Our mission is to eliminate all barriers to women and families' choices in infant feeding wherever they may exist, both practical and systemic. We do not promote any form of feeding over another. Each of our advocates has their own unique infant feeding experiences that ensure we are always thinking outside the box.
We need advocate volunteers who feel passionately about infant feeding and are willing to share their experiences and opinions.
Responsibilities may include attending advocate meetings, usually online. You may be asked to review a research proposals, help us develop recommendations and policy positions to support the needs of women and their families. You will help us with communication and outreach. But most of all you will want to use your own experience to help make things better. You don't need any qualifications for this role, the desire to join Team Feed is all that matters.

They have 3 beneficiary groups - people with autism, women in tech & people from low socioeconomic backgrounds.With coding and tech skills being increasingly important in the the workplace. The current solutions for education in place aren't effective enough.For young people schools are regularly having to cancel computing lessons, and that is only worsened when meeting the educational needs of those who are SEND. For adults, though you have platforms such as Youtube, that isn't a one size-fits all. And we know that it doesn't cater to all ability types. But then when you look at tech training programs typically they require a large financial investment & time commitment that isn't accessible to everyone.
Ensuring that all their content is ASC friendly, Coding with CodeX has taught 8,000 people to date. Ranging from the children in some of the poorest schools in Nottinghamshire to employees at companies such as Bank of America, KPMG and more. All their staff are specially trained to teach individuals who are SEND. For young learners they run programs such as our half term code camp, where they give their beginners python course away for free. Working with schools, charities, community groups and local authorities to ensure the next generation are equipped with the digital skills to thrive in the world of work.
