What will you do?
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our project team to transcribe audio recordings related to the WRAC project. You'll ensure accuracy and clarity in the transcripts, contributing to the accessibility of these invaluable stories. Your responsibilities may also include prioritising transcription tasks and maintaining the integrity of the original recordings.

What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will possess excellent listening and typing skills, with a great attention to detail. While experience with transcription tools is preferred, it's not required. An interest in, knowledge of, or eagerness to learn about British history would be advantageous.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. If we're being honest, most of us cook because we have to, not because we're Gordon Ramsey. So it's time for a suitable solution for us.

Noms makes daily cooking easy. They solve the question “What’s for dinner?” by automatically converting online cooking content into intuitive, easy-to-follow and step-by-step recipes. With the app, you can search for recipes by what’s in your fridge, customise recipes to suit your needs, swap ingredients you do not like or have, and display quantities in intuitive measurements (handfuls, spoons, etc.). You can cook these recipes with our easy-to-follow format that shows only essential information (no ads, long descriptions, or touching the phone). And, you can optimise your groceries to make more food with less money and zero waste.

They are a two-person team building this from zero and are excited to meet you and work with you! They are Austria-Bulgarian and French-Malaysian with a good load of experience working in the Nordic and Silicon Valley startup culture, so they cherish multicultural teams and making team members feel welcome.

Orchards is a Christian charity (CIO: 1179459) working in partnership with local churches across the UK to see women free from sexual exploitation and empowered for flourishing, independent lives. We build trusting relationships with women and support them for lasting recovery through our main areas: 1) transitional safe housing; 2) trauma counselling; 3) training and work opportunities for job and life skills. What will you be doing?

As our current Chair must step down at the end of 2024, we are seeking a Chair elect to join the board no later than the end of the first quarter of 2024. This will allow shadowing of the current Chair to ensure a smooth transition, by maintaining continuity and facilitating a seamless handover of leadership.

As the Chair of My Death, My Decision, you will play a pivotal role in leading our organisation to further our campaign goals. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about the cause either from personal experience or from professional engagement with those making end of life choices.

You will be a seasoned leader with a proven track record of strategic thinking and decision-making, whether in the context of a campaign, a charity or a not-for-profit company. Your leadership should inspire and guide our team towards achieving our mission, making a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking skills to develop and execute a campaign strategy in collaboration with other board members and small team of MDMD staff.
• Governance skills: Previous experience around not for profit governance.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to act as a spokesperson for the organisation, in particular towards bodies such as the Houses of Parliament, medical associations, the media etc.

A little bit about us:

Teach A Man To Fish is an international educational charity with one all-encompassing mission: to empower young people with the skills they need to succeed in school, work and life. We use our school-business model to guide young people and their teachers in the planning and setting up of student-led school businesses that are both educational and profitable. Since 2006, we have supported over 438,000 young people and trained 19,000 teachers through our programmes to set up school businesses which have generated more than $2,000,000 in income! In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting schools worldwide, we launched a new programme: the Enterprise Adventure, a free mobile app for teenagers who want to learn about business and have a positive impact on their community.

The role:

We are looking for one or two volunteers to support the work of our International Programmes team. The ideal candidate will be available to volunteer for 15 hours per week for at least 2 months (ideally more). If you are based in London, you are welcome to volunteer from our office in Finsbury Park, otherwise you may volunteer from home if you prefer. 

You will have the opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of tasks depending on your skills, interests and the time of the year. These include but are not limited to:

• Helping to deliver our marketing strategy (e.g. social media content creation, website updates, carrying out research to increase our reach)

• Helping to deliver our communications and engagement strategy to programme participants (liaising with and engaging young people and teachers through newsletters, blog posts, social media, videos and WhatsApp)

• Supporting with designing educational materials and thinking of business quizzes (knowledge-based and trivia-based)

• Supporting with coordinating the review of School Enterprise Challenge, the Enterprise Adventure and the Trash To Cash Challenge submissions and sending feedback and certificates 

• Contributing to the Monitoring & Evaluation of the programmes through data analysis to inform donor reports and programme improvements

• Gathering and analysing feedback from programme participants (for example through surveys and ‘user testing’ sessions on Zoom)

For adults, though you have platforms such as Youtube, that isn't a one size-fits all. And we know that it doesn't cater to all ability types. But then when you look at tech training programs typically they require a large financial investment & time commitment that isn't accessible to everyone.

Ensuring that all their content is ASC friendly, Coding with CodeX has taught 8,000 people to date. Ranging from the children in some of the poorest schools in Nottinghamshire to employees at companies such as Bank of America, KPMG and more. All their staff are specially trained to teach individuals who are SEND. For young learners they run programs such as our half term code camp, where they give their beginners python course away for free. Working with schools, charities, community groups and local authorities to ensure the next generation are equipped with the digital skills to thrive in the world of work.

COMMUNITY MANAGER

Sheet Yeah! produces eco-friendly laundry detergent sheets that offer a sustainable, convenient, and effective alternative to traditional liquid and powder detergents, reducing environmental impact and promoting responsible consumption.

If so, they’d love to have you on their team at Sheet Yeah!, where they produce innovative, eco-friendly laundry detergent sheets. They need your help, be in charge of: - Pinterest Strategy: Develop and implement a Pinterest strategy to increase brand visibility, engagement, and drive traffic to our website and Amazon. - Content Creation: Create visually appealing and engaging pins that resonate with our target audience and reflect our brand’s eco-friendly values. - Content Management: Manage our Pinterest account, including scheduling pins, optimizing boards, and ensuring consistent brand messaging. - Audience Engagement: Engage with our Pinterest community by responding to comments, participating in relevant group boards, and fostering a sense of community.

Do you have a passion for organising social groups and meeting new people? Want a flexible voluntary role that allows you to make a difference to peoples’ lives? Then this is for you!

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy meeting and talking to new people and would be willing to help us set up a new group in their area.

What would I do?

Following the success of the new groups in Hertfordshire, we are recruiting volunteers across the country to set up new NWR groups in their area. These NWR groups will meet for conversation and informal discussions in a local cafe or pub with a set theme – this theme acts as an icebreaker and ensures that no two meetings feel the same! Themes could cover a wide range of topics and are designed to be light-hearted and an opener for conversations that could lead anywhere (and usually do!).

Your role would be to run the meetings – greeting new and existing members, ensuring that the meetings run smoothly and everyone feels welcome, included and is having fun.

You would be asked to:

• Work with NWR staff to identify which town/city to base your group in

• Consider the types of women who would be interested in your group. What would suit them in terms of the time, location and format of the meetings? How should we communicate to them about the new group? Our staff will be able to provide guidance using their wealth of experience in setting up and running groups.

• Schedule meetings and identify and arrange a suitable venue.

• Run the meetings, ensuring that everyone is made to feel welcome and has an opportunity to contribute if they want to. Promote the benefits of NWR membership.

We will:

• Offer you ideas and advice in all areas of running the meetings and managing the group.

• Write and launch a social media and marketing campaign to recruit members for your group.

• Respond to enquiries and maintain lists of those interested in attending.

The amount of time spent will vary from week to week. It is estimated that it will require 2 hours a month. The hours are flexible and can fit in with your existing commitments.

This opportunity is open to women living in the UK over the age of 18 who are able to travel to the meetings in the evening.

Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.

You will be provided with full training and support from NWR staff and will be part of a friendly and supportive network of volunteers from across the country.
