My Death, My Decision campaigns for a compassionate assisted dying law to help end unnecessary suffering for the terminally ill and those suffering unbearably. You can lead its strategic initiatives and inspire the team to achieve the goal.
What will you be doing?
As our current Chair must step down at the end of 2024, we are seeking a Chair elect to join the board no later than the end of the first quarter of 2024. As the Chair of My Death, My Decision, you will play a pivotal role in leading our organisation to further our campaign goals. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about the cause either from personal experience or from professional engagement with those making end of life choices.
You will be a seasoned leader with a proven track record of strategic thinking and decision-making, whether in the context of a campaign, a charity or a not-for-profit company. Your leadership should inspire and guide our team towards achieving our mission, making a tangible impact.

- provide choice for those making critical decisions about their lives and how they might end.
We are committed to an evidence-based law which would balance individual choice alongside robust safeguards, and we are not afraid to confront uncomfortable truths or expose specious arguments.
You can be the dynamic motivator of the work of our members, supporters, patrons and activists as we help to broaden the assisted dying debate and seek to enshrine the values of autonomy, dignity, and compassion into assisted dying legislation.

Trustees (Antenatal Results & Choices)
ARC offers a vital service. In the UK, approximately 700,000 pregnant women are offered some form of screening test every year, such as an ultrasound scan and/or a blood test. As a result, over 20,000 expectant parents will be told that their baby may not be developing as expected. This causes a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty for expectant parents and their families.
ARC offers a unique and important support service that provides impartial information, advice and guidance for parents who are making decisions about antenatal tests and results. We do this throughout their journey - before, during and after tests and our services are openly and widely available to anyone who needs them.
Over the past 40 years, ARC has developed into an expert, well-funded and deeply respected charity. This is a pivotal time in the charity’s evolution as we look to continue growing and deepening our impact across the health sector. There are still so many more parents who could benefit from our work, and this is a great opportunity for new trustees to join the extended team.
Trustee opportunities
We are looking for future-focused and compassionate people to share leadership responsibilities with fellow trustees and support Jane Fisher and her team in delivering our excellent services.
We are open to trustees from all backgrounds. However, we are particularly interested in recruiting new trustees who can help us widen our reach and extend our vital support beyond what we do already via our helpline, publications, parent forums, volunteer network and newsletter. You might come from a communications background, have experience working with underserved communities, or have lived experience with the communities we are trying to reach.
We are looking to our new trustees to bring a unique insight onto the board and who share our vision and values.
Previous board experience is not required.
How to apply
Eastside People is supporting the ARC (Antenatal Results & Choices) in recruiting for these roles. Apply by submitting your CV and cover letter. Please use the cover letter (max 2 pages) as an opportunity to add to the information you have shared in your CV, and ensure that you cover the following:
Why are you interested in a trustee role and why at ARC?
How can you contribute to ARC as a trustee?
We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential. Please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can make the application process work for you.
The closing date for applications is Monday, 3rd June. The week after that, online shortlisting interviews will take place. Face-to-face interviews with the recruitment panel at ARC will take place in mid-June.
ARC offers a unique and important support service which provides impartial information, advice and guidance for parents who are making decisions about antenatal tests and results. A New Icon
We level the playing field for athletic sponsorships enabling more athletes to reach their full potential.
Large brands and agencies dominate the sports sponsorship marketplace. As a result, many athletes, including female, disabled, and LGBTQ+ athletes from various ethnicities or lower socioeconomic backgrounds, are often left without sponsors and access to what they need to reach their potential. In addition, many sponsors need help finding and developing a genuine connection with an athlete, which leads to issues connecting with their audiences. There is no way to search for sponsors or athletes directly without involving costly agencies. Transparency and self-management are crucial in democratising the marketplace. The opportunity to make this sector more equitable is now.
We have built an innovative self-managed athlete-sponsorship platform focused on unique connections between sponsors and athletes. Sponsors, athletes, and fans can sign-up. Athletes create a public profile page with information and media about themselves. Sponsors create campaigns which athletes & teams search and apply for. In addition, all users can follow athletes who post on our social feed. Negotiation steps are in-built before the contract is confirmed; secure payment is taken for the sponsorship amount and held securely. As milestones are reached, an athlete's payment percentage is released, protecting both sides. Our model enables the fair distribution of power.
Hello, potential volunteer, This is our second attempt at taking on volunteers; the last time, we didn't do so well with organizing and keeping volunteers engaged—we bit off more than we could chew and didn't do a great job of role management! We were also impacted by hitting a funding wall and a general lack of resources, so we crashed and burned, but we did learn! So we are back to try again and hope you will help us make it successful this time!
PR planning and booking for radio and editorial
In order to gain traction on our platform whilst fundraising, we have an athlete ambassador who we would like to do radio interviews and editorials in order to grow users and explain how our platform works whilst telling our story. Our hook is that he will be participating as a part of Team GB at the Paris Olympics. We must ensure we do not break the 40-day rule of mentioning the Olympics in our PR run. We know the radio stations and publications that are our target audience, but we have no experience running a PR campaign without paying a professional! We are looking for someone with experience who can plan and book these appearances for us without a budget and make the most of this opportunity for the athlete and timing of this big event.

Amplify Barawak’s mission and enhance our public presence through strategic marketing and powerful advocacy. As the Marketing Outreach and Advocacy Vertical Lead, you’ll craft compelling narratives that engage and mobilize our community.
Understanding the Verticals at Barawak
Imagine Barawak as a living, thriving tree. Our verticals are like the main branches—each one strong and important, reaching out in its own direction but all connected to the same trunk, our community's mission. These four powerhouse teams each have a special job:
• The Fundraising and Financial Management vertical covers fundraising and money matters: This team is all about finding resources—like getting donations and grants—to keep our programmes strong and healthy. They will spend their time writing fantastic letters, sponsorship proposals and funding requests on behalf of Barawak as a whole, but also (supporting programme leads) to specific organisations for Barawak service lines.
• The Partnership Development and Collaboration vertical covers building bridges: They're the connectors, making friends with other groups, businesses, and everyone who can help us grow.
• The Volunteer Engagement vertical covers welcoming our helpers: This bunch is in charge of gathering our most valuable resource—people like you who want to volunteer and make a difference.
• The Marketing Outreach and Advocacy vertical covers spreading the word: They tell our story far and wide, making sure everyone knows what we're up to and how they can join in.
Each vertical team works in two distinct ways: the first way is for Barawak as a whole, and the second way is in support of each Barawak service, feeding our programmes, like roots bringing water and nutrients to the branches. Whether it's Poverty Relief, Education, Employment Support, Community Engagement or Sports and Wellness, these verticals give the support each programme needs to blossom and bear fruit. Working together, they make sure we're all pushing in the same direction—towards a future where our community stands tall and proud.

Coding with CodeX work to make sure that anyone can have access to high quality coding and tech education. They have 3 beneficiary groups - people with autism, women in tech & people from low socioeconomic backgrounds. With coding and tech skills being increasingly important in the the workplace. The current solutions for education in place aren't effective enough. For young people schools are regularly having to cancel computing lessons, and that is only worsened when meeting the educational needs of those who are SEND. For adults, though you have platforms such as Youtube, that isn't a one size-fits all. And we know that it doesn't cater to all ability types. But then when you look at tech training programs typically they require a large financial investment & time commitment that isn't accessible to everyone.
Ensuring that all their content is ASC friendly, Coding with CodeX has taught 8,000 people to date. Ranging from the children in some of the poorest schools in Nottinghamshire to employees at companies such as Bank of America, KPMG and more. All their staff are specially trained to teach individuals who are SEND. For young learners they run programs such as our half term code camp, where they give their beginners python course away for free. Working with schools, charities, community groups and local authorities to ensure the next generation are equipped with the digital skills to thrive in the world of work.

2. Distribution of Workload: Sharing the workload among several volunteers ensures that deadlines are met without overburdening a single individual, maintaining a high standard of content.
3. Specialized Content: Writers can focus on areas of personal expertise or interest, such as educational content, success
stories, or stakeholder communications, leading to more detailed and passionate articles.
4. Flexibility and Resilience: A team of writers provides greater flexibility and continuity for the newsletter. If one writer is unavailable, others can cover, ensuring consistent publication.
Impact of the Role:
· Skill Development: Enhance your writing, research, and editorial skills in a supportive, practical setting.
· Meaningful Contribution: Play a crucial role in how our community understands and connects with RollaDome’s mission and activities.
