Your main role is to be a senior member of the PIRC team, holding responsibility for overseeing PIRC’s strategic direction and vision, programme delivery, representing the organisation at internal and external events, and working with the Head of Operations to ensure the financial health of the organisation.

Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - based at PIRC offices in Machynlleth, as well as your home address, with travel when necessary.
Salary: £42-45,000 (£33-36,000 pro rata). This is the base rate for our socially-just pay policy, which can provide additional salary based on personal need.
Hours: 32 hours over 4 days, usually between Monday to Thursday, with 1:1 toil system (hours or days earned for working beyond your set hours)

Holiday: 28 days (22.5 days pro rata, including bank holidays)
Additional Leave: We operate a two-week (paid) winter closure period. This is non-contractual leave and it does not count towards your annual leave allowance. Closure period dates are reviewed and confirmed annually.

The Role:
Strategic Leadership
- With the Head of Operations, co-lead, as part of a collaborative process with the full staff team, the development and review of the operational strategy and budget
- Plan and facilitate Programme Team Meetings
- Oversee and input into funding applications and reports, including ensuring programme team documents are kept up to date for fundraising
- Working with the fundraiser to identify funding opportunities and attend key funder meetings
- Input into Board development, including regular reports at Board meetings
- Oversee and drive annual, quarterly and monthly planning
- Play an active role in the restructure and its evaluation and review, including development of this role
Team Leadership & People (HR) Management:
- Work closely with delivery staff to set delivery project plans
- Check in regularly with individual Delivery Team members (such as Workshops Lead, Curriculum Lead, Community Lead and Research Lead)
- Support staff to take ownership of and drive forward their areas of work and participate in the overall running of PIRC
- Support staff development
- Liaise with PIRC Board ‘Delivery SubGroup’
Programme Delivery
- Ensuring programme delivery is aligned with PIRC’s strategy and values
- Taking an active role in programme delivery alongside Delivery Team members
Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaising with funders, maintaining existing relationships and building new ones
- Building and maintaining relationships across PIRC’s movement ecosystem

The traineeship lasts for up to 12 months, and each GROW receives personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented them gaining meaningful employment.

About the role
Working in a team of seven, you will be part of the research function at Shelter, finding data and evidence to support Shelter’s fundraising, media, services, campaigning and brand work.
As well as researching the benefits of social homes, we also do research on the scale of the housing emergency, including homelessness, and who is most affected.
The Research team is part of Shelter’s Activism & Advocacy division. This means you may work with our Public Affairs, Digital Campaigns, Community Organising and Policy teams too.
The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our work as a whole.
About you
You’ll be a team player who is flexible, open to learning, and willing to ask for support when needed. You’ll have basic IT skills, such as using email and searching the internet, and be able to stay organised and manage your time well. You’ll also be proactive, curious, and interested in learning more about housing and the issues people face. Importantly, you’ll have lived experience of homelessness or other disadvantages – such as substance use, or involvement with the criminal justice system – and you’ll want to use your experience to make a positive difference. You may also be facing challenges to employment, such as limited qualifications, a lack of experience, or long-term unemployment. A strong belief in equality and a commitment to tackling discrimination are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Support: Act as a force multiplier for the CEO, helping to prioritise initiatives, manage high-level projects, and streamline decision-making processes. The role will act as a gatekeeper for the CEO, addressing and balancing competing demands and workloads.

Relationship management [20%]
- Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
- Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
- Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room
Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]
- Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
- Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
- Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment
Operations [10%]
- Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

About the role
The role of Recovery Support Worker will work as part of a team in our regulated services and is an important role for the delivery of recovery-based and prevention services within Birmingham Mind. The role will be central to the smooth running of the 24/7 service provided by Recovery House.
You will support the Waking Night team of Recovery Support Workers in providing a continuous and safe delivery of support, always ensuring high quality and person-centred care.
