We are seeking a Head of Programmes and Impact – a strategic, passionate leader who can ensure our initiatives deliver the very best for disadvantaged children and families.

The Maritime Children’s Foundation was established to provide the extra support that families and children experiencing disadvantage need, so that all children can get the best start in life. In just a year, we’ve launched initiatives that are already making a difference – from baby and toddler support, to community ambassador programmes, to free Saturday Skills Academies and secondary transition support.

The Role

As Head of Programmes and Impact, you will:

• Oversee programme delivery – ensuring our current initiatives, from early years to secondary transition, run smoothly and achieve the best outcomes.

• Lead design and development of future programmes that respond to the needs of disadvantaged families across Maritime schools.

• Embed impact and evaluation – creating a clear Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework that captures both data and lived experience.

• Demonstrate impact – producing reports that inspire funders, inform strategy, and showcase the difference we are making.

• Collaborate with stakeholders – from schools and community groups to funders and local authorities, ensuring our work is evidence-based and community-led.

• Support fundraising – providing compelling impact evidence to strengthen bids and future funding opportunities.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Partnership Lead and the wider Maritime Academy Trust central team, as well as spending time in our 13 schools to see our programmes in action.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was founded in 2009 after Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked because of their alternative appearance. Sophie later died from her injuries. The Foundation was created by Sophie’s mother Sylvia to address prejudice against alternative subcultures and to promote understanding and tolerance through education, advocacy and policy work.

Although a small organisation, we have big impact and reach. We advocate for the alternative community through policy and campaigning work and provide support following hate crime. And we also run workshops aimed at reducing discrimination and challenging stereotypes. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Fundraiser to help secure the charity’s financial stability and support its growth.

The role involves creating a fundraising function from the bottom up and then developing and implementing a fundraising strategy. Diverse income streams to be targeted include corporate partnerships, individual donors, grants and foundations, events and digital campaigns. You’ll work closely with the team, CEO and Trustees to ensure fundraising activities align with our clear objectives.

Responsible for creating and delivering a fundraising plan that meets income targets, you’ll identify funding opportunities that align with our mission. This includes researching grants, preparing applications, managing funder relationships and reporting. Building donor engagement through regular giving, legacy programmes and other initiatives will also be part of the role.

Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant records of fundraising activities and donor data is essential. You’ll also prepare reports for internal use and external stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with proven fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector who has a track record of securing income from grants, donors, events or corporate partnerships. Strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines are important. You’ll relish involvement at every level, whether it be leading meetings with high value funders or thanking supporters for their incredible achievements. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential.

About Woman's Trust

We are seeking a Funding Officer to join our passionate and friendly team in Northern Ireland.

This permanent position is part of our Southern Team, which covers the following Council areas: Ards and North Down, Mid Ulster, Newry Mourne and Down and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon. Led by a Funding Manager and supported by four other Funding Officers, you will be responsible for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas while also working flexibly across the wider local team to help meet the demands of our funding programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering over £30m annually to support communities and create real impact across Northern Ireland

Based primarily in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas, you will work from home and within local community settings. The role will also require travel to our Belfast office (around once every couple of weeks) as well as occasional visits to other parts of the Southern team area.

This is a varied and rewarding role and involves assessing funding applications across our programmes, managing grants and monitoring progress and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will use your local knowledge and experience to help ensure funding is directed where it can make the greatest difference to places, people and communities who experience poverty, disadvantage and discrimination. 

Key responsibilities may include:

• Assessing funding applications across our programmes
• Managing your own caseload of grants, including liaising with grant holders, visiting projects, identifying and managing risks, and supporting organisations to deliver and evaluate their work.
• Understanding and responding to the different needs of communities, applicants and grant holders
• Providing constructive advice and feedback, supporting applicants while being confident to have challenging conversations where needed
• Representing the Fund by engaging with key stakeholders, including applicants, support agencies, Council staff, and by attending funding fairs and external meetings.
• Sharing learning from your conversations, events, project visits, reports and evaluations to help maximize our impact as a grant maker.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding approaches and workforce training pitches, through to successfully managing relationships with corporate partners.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in researching and developing prospect lists for priority industries and implementing new business campaigns which will secure multi-year high value partnerships, both for workplace training and donations
• Experience of selling training programmes to businesses
• Experience in developing engaging and impactful partnership proposals and training propositions
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels

The main purposes of the Development Officer role are:

• Working with the Development team to collectively achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding £2m per year
• Selling workplace training and donation opportunities to corporate partners across a range of industries, but in particular the legal and financial services sectors
• Supporting the CEO and Development Director to increase Tender’s workplace training delivery in order to achieve income targets through sales
• Contributing to applications and events in support of fundraising from other sources

You will have a background of successfully securing grants from trusts and foundations within the charitable sector and have strong grant management skills, from researching prospects through to the production of compelling and successful proposals for funding. With excellent communication and writing skills you will be able to develop persuasive bids and build and steward relationships, demonstrating the impact of funders’ investment. You will be comfortable in managing a busy workload and to strict deadlines, working with our Africa and UK programmes team to achieve key targets and contributing to wider fundraising efforts, including through events and the growth of earned income streams.

 For a self-motivated individual with the drive to galvanise internal and external support and opportunities, you will help to enable and achieve our ambitions for our Africa and UK programmes. 

Role Overview:

We’re working with a leading organisation to recruit an Engagement Officer on a 6-month contract. This is a varied role focused on supporting donor engagement through volunteering and pro bono programmes. The position offers the chance to work across teams, develop relationships with a range of stakeholders, and contribute to meaningful projects that create real social impact.

This hybrid role requires around 2–3 days per week in the office (Central London) and regular attendance at team events. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where partnership and innovation are valued.

Overall purpose of the role

To lead the development of a regular giving and legacy programme at the AHF, and to support the Director of Programmes/Deputy CEO in development and management of a major gifts programme during the AHF’s 50th Anniversary campaign, with possibility for continued role thereafter. The post holder will be responsible for developing systems to monitor and increase the number of regular and legacy donors to the AHF, including stewardship opportunities, and will assist in prospect research, qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding major donors.

2 Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Director of Programmes/Deputy CEO on development and delivery of the anniversary programme of activities, with particular focus on research to identify potential invitees to and engaging attendees at and after campaign launch and closure events, exhibition launches in Belfast, Glasgow, Cardiff, and London, and an industry-facing conference in London.
    
2. Develop and manage a legacy programme for the AHF including stewardship activities; develop and manage a personal portfolio of legacy donors, including making asks of existing regular supporters to consider legacies and development and drafting of legacy proposals and contracts.
    
3. Develop and manage a programme of higher-level regular giving (over £500 per annum), including stewardship activities and making asks of regular supporters to increase their giving.
    
4. Support the Director of Programmes/Deputy CEO, and CEO, with identification and management of a growing portfolio of major gift prospects, including supporting major gifts asks and helping Director of Programmes/Deputy CEO and CEO with ongoing cultivation and stewardship of major donors.
    
5. Lead on managing the AHF’s donor database, Beacon, ensuring the data is up to date with giving from Charities Aid Foundation and other external gifts, that fundraising activity is appropriately recorded on the database, and that our records are fully compliant with data protection legislation.
    
6. Work closely with the Communications Office and consultants supporting the AHF’s 50th Anniversary campaign, with an eye on developing and maximising opportunities to introduce the AHF to new potential supporters and to bolster our key messaging with those already known to us. As part of this work, sit as Secretary of the AHF Communications and Anniversary subcommittee of our Board.
    
7. Develop and maintain a reporting structure to keep AHF SMT and Board up to date with fundraising activity and opportunities.
    
8. Responsible for maintaining the AHF’s log relating to Donor Due Diligence and assisting the Director of Programmes & Deputy CEO with maintaining appropriate policies related to fundraising, including those associated with donor due diligence.
    
9. Contribute to the development and delivery of new ways of working at the AHF that will see our organisation build and maintain greater philanthropic fundraising success, including bringing examples of best practice from other charities. Assist with other tasks and activities as required, particularly those activities and processes that support the wider engagement of potential supporters with the AHF’s work.
