Volunteers would be expected to attend regular network training evenings, on line training and specific face to face training for the role. Once trained for the role would be expected to assist at First Aid, PR and fundraising events.

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates:
Welcome Event (Induction) - Saturday 11th October to attend a selection event in Aylesbury.
Training for role - Following the selection event, successful candidates will need to attend a Welcome event on Saturday 1st November in Aylesbury. and On line training plus two day face to face classroom training over a weekend.

We are looking for volunteers to help at our portfolio of exciting evening fashion show events  this year. Be a part of something truly special!

The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of its annual income. That's why the NSPCC events team put on industry leading events to raise funds and highlight the work that we do

We are looking for enthusiastic and organised people to join our community of event volunteers. We couldn't continue to hold industry leading events without our event volunteers who play an integral part in assisting on the night. The NSPCC events calendar brings together guests from a range of sectors for innovative, luxury and spectacular evenings of entertainment that help to raise vital funds for the NSPCC and Childline.

What you'll be doing:

To work together with the Community Fundraising Manager to co-ordinate new fashion show events in the local community together with like-minded people. 

We have many different roles that you can get stuck in to on the night of the event. The support needed is either event set up during the day or being on hand to greet and support guests over the duration of the evening. Typically, you will be volunteering for 5 hours, usually from 5.30pm to 10.30pm, with breaks and we will provide all food and refreshments.

Volunteers can expect to be:

• selling raffle tickets/ items during the reception
• acting as a table host and encouraging guests to bid in the silent auction and take part in fundraising games and activities.
• Taking part in our live auctions by acting as bid spotters for the auctioneer.

What you'll get:

A community of likeminded peers and the feeling that you have helped the NSPCC to achieve a successful event which will allow them to help children across the UK.

We'll support you with check in's and materials to help in your role. We will keep you updated with NSPCC information and other ways you can support.

We want to increase the number of volunteers in Cranleigh and Woking areas as well as Guildford, Successful candidates would be expected to attend at least one training night per month at Guildford from 20:00 for 2 hours.

Online learning will be required before a 2 day course will be taking place at the weekend in January

The Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and organised Volunteer Manager to support and oversee the wellbeing and engagement of volunteers across the charity. This role is about building a strong, inclusive, and supportive volunteer community where everyone can thrive.

The Volunteer Manager will:

• Support chapter Wellbeing Officers by ensuring they create proactive wellbeing plans and run initiatives such as wellbeing posts, yoga sessions, or social activities.

• Organise central wellbeing efforts (e.g., online wellbeing campaigns and virtual socials) to strengthen volunteer morale across the charity.

• Lead the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Subcommittee, identifying barriers faced by minority and underrepresented groups and implementing changes to make volunteering more accessible and inclusive.

• Develop and manage Reasonable Adjustment Plans (RAPs) for individual volunteers who may need additional support, ensuring these are sensitively shared and applied.

• Oversee Safeguarding and Community Officers, supporting them to maintain legal compliance and build a sense of belonging among volunteers.

• Champion feedback and engagement, using volunteer insights to improve wellbeing and inclusion initiatives.

Do you love Christmas and want to support a key NSPCC event? Join our Festival of Trees Volunteer team today!

What are we looking for?

We are looking for reliable and hands-on volunteers to support the organisation and running of our annual Festival of Trees event! Christmas is a crucial time of year for the NSPCC and this event is a magical way to bring people together, promote the importance of the work that we do and of course raise vital funds for those who need it most.

What will you be doing?

The key responsibilities of this role include: decorating Christmas trees, tidying and sorting event spaces before, during and after the event, moving equipment and materials, undecorating and packing away items, organising storage cupboards, and overall just ensuring that things run in a smooth and efficient manner. If you are a creative and organised Christmas fan, then this could be the perfect role for you!

How regular is the volunteering?

The work for this role will be done in the run up to Christmas, and within the first couple of weeks of the new year. We will require your help on a few specific days during this time period (yet to be decided), and these will usually be weekdays. You will be given details of the specific dates/times with plenty of notice and we will do our best to work around the availability of all the volunteers! There is no requirement for you to be available for every single one, so if you just have the occasional day available to support us, then this will be absolutely fine.

What will you get from the role?

You'll be a valued part of our your local area fundraising group, working together with the rest of the team to raise awareness and funds. You'll support your fundraising group leader and other group members by helping to organise fundraising events and activities or thinking up new ways to get people fundraising.

We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but if you want to do more that would be great.

About Candlelighters

Candlelighters provides financial, emotional and practical support to families affected by childhood cancer in Yorkshire. We support around 150 new families each year and our work ensure the whole family unit is supported in these extraordinary circumstances.

We support children and their families from diagnosis and throughout their journey, including financial support, practical help in hospital, much needed breaks, as well as emotional and well-being support at our Family Support Centre (The Square) and in local communities across Yorkshire. 

Purpose of the Role

At Candlelighters we utilise social media to increase awareness of the charity and childhood cancer. We use it to attract new supporters, and encourage existing supporters to actively take part in activities to make a difference for children with cancer and their families – whether that be donating, fundraising or volunteering. We would love a volunteer to help analyse the effectiveness of our social media each month to help us continue to improve the effectiveness of our social media marketing.

Key Activities

-Download data from each social media channel to produce a report on key metrics such as reach, engagement, and followers.

·Identify trends in performance by comparing monthly and annual results.

·Identify types of posts that have performed well or not.

·Make recommendations for future posts and strategies.

Volunteer Requirements

·Experience of social media analytics.

·Ability to use Microsoft word, excel and outlook.

·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·Knowledge or experience of marketing.

·Good working knowledge of social media.

·The ability to use their own laptop for the work.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative, and organised people from Plymouth and the surrounding areas to support the NSPCC with events and fundraising. Our Community Fundraising and Plymouth-based Together for Childhood teams are instrumental in promoting the work of the NSPCC across the area, and we are looking for amazing volunteers to support the teams and help promote our missions of bringing people together to raise awareness and funds that help protect children and prevent cruelty and abuse. 

What will you be doing?

Volunteering in this role will mean you become a valued member of our volunteer network across Plymouth. You will support Community Fundraising by engaging with the public and local organisations, spreading the messages of the NSPCC, raising funds and just proudly representing what we stand for, and you will also take on a role of supporting and promoting our long-term Together for Childhood project at events within the community. 
There are plenty of different opportunities when it comes to being a Friend of the NSPCC in Plymouth, so you can really make the role your own and support us in a way that works for you!

They would also be expected to remain in regular contact with their line manager and attending regular training sessions at their Network (at least twice a month).

Once your screening for role has been completed, you will be invited to attend your local St John Ambulance Network for a Welcome and Induction.

Training for this role include a two-day in-person course, as well as some online learning. Your local Network will support you through the training process.

This recruitment opportunity seeks volunteers from across the Counties of Hereford & Worcester. Local Networks see volunteers coordinated at either Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Worcester City, Pershore or Hereford City. The ability to travel is essential and will require candidates to travel reasonable distances within the two counties to perform their duties including, First Aid, Community Engagement and Fundraising.

A selection event will take place at our County Headquarters - 148. Wylds Lane, Worcester, WR5 1DN, within two weeks of the closing date (TBC). Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the next available Community First Aid course, which will be run at the Worcester site (Dates TBC).
