The LifeSkills programme offers groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children’s centre or community setting. As well as offering opportunities for families to spend quality time together and have access to healthy food, these sessions offer LifeSkills workshops for parents and carers to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training/volunteering/employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals.
Main Responsibilities:
The role involves delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in South West Yorkshire. The postholder will also be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g., small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. Examples might include, for instance, devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the area.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
- To be the main point of contact for delivery partners (as well as for fundraising / marketing staff), for a portfolio of LifeSkills programmes, and respond promptly to queries and concerns.
- To support delivery of LifeSkills sessions (e.g. take bookings, develop PowerPoint slides) as well as planning and delivering own LifeSkills programmes.

The Torbay Health and Wellbeing Voluntary Sector Network in Torbay is recruiting a full-time Manager to oversee the Torbay Community Helpline.
This post will be based in the local voluntary sector infrastructure organisation - Torbay Communities, hosts of the Community Helpline.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead this nationally recognised and acclaimed innovation. Torbay’s Community Helpline was established during the Covid pandemic and has since been developed by the local community into a central access point to the voluntary and community sector as a whole. Since 2021, it has also been the front door for new Adult Social Care referrals in the area through a unique partnership with the local statutory sector. Providing the best possible support to local residents the Helpline’s strapline ‘One Call – That’s All’ sums up the holistic approach. Individuals and families can access a wide range of support from food parcels to mental health support, help with isolation to debt advice etc. The Helpline links into over 100 voluntary sector organisations locally and into grassroots networks of residents offering support to each other. The Helpline has a strengths-based approach to its operations, with callers often helping others after they have received some support.

This is a grant funded role, fixed term for two years, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent role should funding allow.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across Scotland. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.
The successful candidate will also lead on support for young people living with Duchenne during 2 key transition points (primary to secondary school stage and moving into adulthood). They will work closely with the England-based Transitions Coordinator to deliver a joined-up programme of support across the UK.
Specific Tasks:
1. Proactive Family Support
- Initiate contact with newly registered families within agreed timeframes (email within 3 working days, call within 7–10 working days)
- Contact to be made to all registered Action Duchenne members, knows to us in Scotland, to ensure the current support offer is clear
- Provide ongoing support tailored to individual needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, housing, financial security, self-esteem and respect, decision-making, social engagement, quality of life, and access to care
- Use the Action Duchenne Assessment Form and Action Plan to identify and respond to areas of concern
2. Transitions Support
· Lead transition support across all nations, with a focus on Scotland, for children and young people facing key life changes, including:
· Moving between educational settings such as primary to secondary
· Transitioning from paediatric to adult health services
· Changes in mobility and independence (e.g. transitioning to using powerchairs)
· You will lead, but expected to work collaboratively with the England-based Transition Coordinator to ensure consistency and continuity of support across the UK
· Develop resources, guidance, and workshops to support families through transitions
3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement
· Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security)
· Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress
· Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call.
4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery
· Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter)
· Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family
· Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability)
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
· Liaise with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities
· Represent Action Duchenne in Scotland and build relationships with local networks
6. Administration and Reporting
· Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided
· Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact
· Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements
7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· New contact acknowledgement email: within 3 working days
· New contact follow-up call: within 7–10 working days
· Families contacted per week: 12–15 hours of direct contact

Aims:
- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families
2wish Cymru and 2wish:
2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
Context of role:
2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.
Main duties:
Service:
- To initiateimmediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
- Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
- Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
- To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
- To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
- Attend relevant forums within the area
- To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
- To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
- Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
- To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in may circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.

What we do for you:
Salary: £26,500 pro rata per annum, with the opportunity for an increase through the appraisal structure.
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.
Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable. 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme.

Required Qualifications / Experience

By harnessing the power of fully funded bursary placements and targeted outreach activities available in the UK’s state and independent boarding schools and independent day schools, we seek to transform individual young lives, and in turn we aim to create a sustained ‘ripple-effect’ of growing aspirations and achievements across under-served communities and marginalised groups.
Since 2012 we have supported more than 1,500 young people to access the life-transforming opportunities provided by fully funded bursary places, working with more than 200 participating boarding and independent schools united under the shared commitment to build more diverse, inclusive and representative school environments. We have ambitious plans to ensure that 2,000 young people are supported by our work by 2025, through extending our Department for Education sponsored work in independent day schools.

We harness boarding and independent schools’ commitment to using their educational environments as an engine of social mobility, coordinating a sector-wide effort to target schools’ bursary and partnerships schemes for those who most need access to these opportunities.

To do so we have a fundraising strategy to secure c.£2 million p/a in donations, used to help to unlock schools’ own efforts to fund as many bursary places and partnership offerings as possible.
The return on the Foundation’s Capital Fund covers the costs of our small team of 14 individuals. We are ably supported in this endeavour by the involvement of our committed Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and an impressive and diverse body of dedicated and enthusiastic Trustees.
Purpose of the role
You will support the Head of SpringForward in managing a growing independent school- local authority partnership mentoring programme. This programme promotes partnerships between independent schools and Local Authorities that ensure that children in care can access opportunities for tailored mentoring by independent schoolteachers to help address some of their achievement and attainment gaps, and be supported to secure offers for a university or apprenticeship route on leaving school.
Key responsibilities
You will work with the Head of SpringForward to support successful management of day-to-day operations of the programme; including but not limited to:

onboarding and engagement of volunteer independent schoolteacher mentors;

liaising with school coordinators and overseeing overall school participation;

liaising with Local Authority partners and updating on pupil engagement;

supporting mentors in delivery of mentoring, quality assurance including monitoring of session reports, updating resources).
You will work with Head of SpringForward to review, implement and refine impact measurement, collecting survey data and feedback, review the outcomes and supporting continuous improvement of programme design and to communicate with new schools and LAs the programme’s benefits.
You will be held accountable for upholding the highest levels of safeguarding practice in implementation of the mentoring programme, including updating and maintaining safeguarding records for volunteers.
You will be responsible for writing reports on progress and outcomes for the charity’s senior leadership, trustees and the wider partnership community.
If seeking additional responsibilities/hours, this role could also include elements of wider communications support - including updating the charity’s website and social media content, collecting impact stories and sharing weekly content on school visits, donor engagement and key newsworthy items relevant to the work of RNCSF.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children & Young People area at IRMO and be part of the Family Project. The Family Project supports Spanish and Portuguese-speaking children and young people who have recently arrived in the UK and need to enter compulsory education as soon as possible.
The Family Support Worker will offer targeted advice and support in Spanish/Portuguese to families and young people facing barriers in accessing education and other statutory services such as SEND support and Early Help.
The role involves setting up advice and casework schedules, liaising with local authorities, school admissions departments, EAL/SEN teams, and specialised organisations to ensure children are not out of education and receive the right support.
The Family Support Worker will also deliver targeted workshops for families, liaise with external speakers, and create accessible resources (digital and paper-based).
They will work closely with the Youth Project Coordinator, ESOL Teacher and Community Support Team to share information, identify needs, and connect children and families with opportunities.
This multifaceted role requires empathy, flexibility, and a sound understanding of the UK education system and legislation affecting migrants and asylum seekers.
Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is essential and a knowledge of both is desirable, as the Family Support Worker will regularly need to communicate with members of the community who have either as a first language.
