You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to facilitate our educational programmes focused on Political and Media Literacy, with a specific focus on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE). Reporting to the PCVE Lead and Head of Programmes, you will be tasked with facilitating workshops in a variety of settings, as well as contributing to the design of our resources and evaluation of projects. Delivery settings and audiences can vary from students at a college/school/ PRU, as well as frontline practitioners and community members. Based mainly in London, with occasional travel around the UK (all travel and expenses will be covered). The applicant needs to be confident, punctual and passionate about political and media literacy.

Location: London, with potential for some travel. 

Contract Duration: 

Starting ASAP and working full time until March 31st 2027, with possibility of extension or permanent role offer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitation of workshops across a diverse range of settings and cohorts, but primarily with young people.
• Recruit, coordinate and support schools and teachers across the UK to take on our political and media literacy course, workshops and projects.
• Update and create resources around the topics of Political Literacy, Media Literacy and Counter-Extremism
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, councils, 3rd sector stakeholders through our CRM system.
• Travel nationally and/or internationally to deliver workshops as needed.
• Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested. 

Requirements:

• Experience in delivering workshops to young people and/or adults
• Experience in teaching and/or school settings
• Confidence
• Good speaking and writing skills
• An understanding of and interest in media & political literacy and/or counter-extremism (PCVE / REMVE)
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a diverse workload
• Although you will receive training on the job, it would be desirable to have a strong understanding of extremism and radicalisation, in particular, Islamist Extremism, Extreme Right Wing, and Fascination with Extreme Violence.

This will include networking and building relationships with existing and potential statutory and non-statutory partners; bringing in appropriate expertise to achieve community-led development projects; direct support for community action such as community-led research projects and partnerships; community mapping, visioning and action planning; supporting reflection and evaluation; and sharing learning widely. You will also supervise the coordination support provided to affiliated groups and leaders by our Community Action Coordinator (Manchester); ensuring a community-led process underpins leadership and associational development.

Role Summary

This new role is responsible for supporting and developing our research, reporting and evaluation function. Our ambition is to provide accurate reporting to our funders, supporters and education and sector partners and high-quality insights and data about the important role that film and screen culture plays in the educational and personal development and future career aspirations of young people aged 5-19. You will be key to developing and improving our reporting, research and evaluation work at Into Film.

In addition, you will support the Head of Impact and Research as well as the Leadership team to ensure the effective reporting and evaluation of the impact of our programmes for our funders and other internal and external stakeholders.

Working collaboratively and closely with colleagues across the organisation, this function supports and informs our programme design and development, our income generation and our policy and comms outputs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Impact and Research to grow and develop Into Film's research and evaluation function
• Support and feed into improvements to and implementation of our organisational theory of change, evaluation framework and impact strategy 
• Under the guidance of the Head of Impact and Research, take the lead on setting and delivering high-quality research and evaluation design, analysis and reporting across the organisation
• Lead improvements to and implementation of programme-level evaluation frameworks, ensuring input from our programme delivery teams and other key internal stakeholders (e.g. fundraising, marcomms, senior leadership)
• Provide expert qualitative or mixed-methods research and evaluation support for colleagues, including but not limited to:
• Providing advice and guidance on research design and methodologies
• Providing advice and guidance on data collection using focus groups, interviews and case studies
• Leading and championing best practice for qualitative data collection and analysis as part of monitoring, evaluation, impact and reporting across the organisation
• Take the lead on implementing improvements to evaluation processes to ensure effective qualitative data management and robust analytical and reporting processes
• Under the guidance of the Head of Impact and Research, work effectively with the wider Into Film team, including:
• Keeping colleagues up to date with new research as it is published
• Working closely with the digital team to understand and develop efficient data capture systems
• Working closely with internal teams to ensure data is effectively captured and analysed for quarterly and annual reporting
• Work effectively with external stakeholders to support Into Film’s impact and evaluation work, including:
• Supporting engagement with our Research and Insight Advisory Group 
• Engaging with partnership research into the impact of using film in education, the benefits of filmmaking and film watching opportunities, and the impact of creative careers guidance and work experience for young people 
• Effectively working with our established Youth Advisory Council and Education Advisory Group, ensuring their expertise informs our research and evaluation work

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in an impact and/or evaluation function
• Qualitative data analysis expertise, through formal qualification or hands-on experience – must be comfortable with qualitative data management, analysis and reporting
• Knowledge of the education, skills, creative industries or charity sector space
• A collaborative colleague who will thrive in a dynamic, responsive cross-organisational role
• An excellent writer, presenter and communicator who is willing to represent Into Film at in-person meetings and events 
• Experience supporting design and delivery of effective and inclusive evaluation methodologies to demonstrate impact and gather useful learning from programme participants 
• Demonstrable stakeholder management experience, working closely with colleagues and external research partners to support the delivery of multiple high-quality, robust, mixed-method evaluations

aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate
casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative
therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.
The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families
affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.

Although the role is remote, we do require candidates to live within the area they are delivering the service (Bristol or Gloucestershire in this case) and they are required to drive.

Main Duties

1.0. Service:
1.1: To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25
have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
1.2: To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
1.3: Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line
with safeguarding and risk reduction
1.4: Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing
weekly telephone calls
1.5: To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising
formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the
bereaved individual
1.6: To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other
healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
1.7: To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agency
approach to support
1.8: Attend relevant forums within the area
1.9: To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on
the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
1.10: To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
1.11: To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for
bereaved individuals to use as required
1.12: Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or
young person
1.13: To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
1.14: To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
1.15: Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness

General

2.1: To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
2.2: To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
2.3: To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
2.4: To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality,
Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working
practices as appropriate
2.5: To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
2.6: Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake,
as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
2.7: Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish
It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances
unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and
tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.
You will be subject to performance review, which will incorporate a review of the above duties
and performance over the period.
