Legal Services Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Services Lead to join the Chief Executive's Office. Your role is to provide general legal advice; to act as commercial counsel, assisting in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, ensuring these are fit for purpose and to manage any potential commercial disputes.

Role Requirements

• Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to the organisation on a wide range of legal topics that relate to the organisation.
• Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing organisational policies and procedures as well as providing in-house legal templates.
• Ensuring compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and statutory guidance that apply to the business including any changes that may arise from time to time
• Drafting, reviewing, and supporting with the negotiation of various commercial contracts and agreements including retail shop leases.
• Providing timely, accurate and commercially responsive advice to CEO, SLT, senior managers and trustees on both a formal and informal basis.
• Communicating with and managing third-party bodies such as regulators, external counsel or auditors.
• Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the organisation.
• Designing and delivering legal training to the organisation.
• Providing advice on the effective management and protection of The Children’s Trust intellectual property.
• Providing advice on the effective management and protection of The Children’s Trusts employees.
• Providing support with coroner’s inquests including instructing external counsel, liaising with the Coroner’s Office and conveying legally privileged advice to the SLT and trustees as appropriate.
• Supporting colleagues with the development and implementation of a contracts management process, contracts playbook (set of standard templates) and central contracts database.
• Managing the legal services budget.
• Undertaking other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

The role

We are looking for an energetic and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As Research Manager of Patient Programmes, you'll have a crucial role in advancing our mission. A central focus of this role is to develop and lead patient-centred educational programs, webinars, and content that ensure patients are well-informed, actively engaged, and empowered throughout their journey. You will also play a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s connection with patients and advocacy groups, ensuring their voices are meaningfully reflected in our research agenda and broader mission. A critical and growing area of work for the Foundation is the systematic gathering and use of patient insights and data. This role will help shape and deliver that work, ensuring that lived experience informs everything we do, from research to support initiatives.

You will also lead the project management of our scientific events from planning through to delivery, ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and within budget. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging events that foster collaboration and advance knowledge in the field.

Key responsibilities

Strengthening patient engagement and education

• Education: Lead the delivery of impactful, patient-centred educational initiatives such as webinars, polls, and video content to inform and empower people living with FL, their families, and carers, and align with the Foundation’s mission to accelerate progress toward cure.
• Strategy Support: Support the Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes to develop and implement a long-term patient strategy that drives lasting impact and supports the Foundation’s mission to find a cure.

Who we are looking for

The Housing Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) will be embedded within borough housing teams to facilitate the dual working that will ensure that survivors’ safety and housing needs are met. This includes:

· Close working relationships with Housing colleagues 

· Provision of specialist knowledge relating to DA for Housing Officers and Homelessness Teams to draw on 

· Specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis 

· Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation 

· Ongoing support from the IGVA from wider DA service, including access to group clinical supervision, casework management meetings, reflective practice sessions, one-to-one supervision from service manager 

The Housing IGVA will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children. The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence).

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal, housing and practical options that might increase their safety. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support especially around complex housing needs.

The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.

We are looking to recruit for maternity cover for 7 months in the first instance for the Head of our Public Mental Health Implementation Centre (PMHIC), which we host at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The person in this role will lead our PMHIC team alongside the Clinical and Strategic Director. Applicants should have a track record of leadership in research and an interest in public mental health. We are looking for people who are able to work flexibly and creatively in developing the portfolio of the centre, forging productive relationships with partners and responding to the needs of the mental health sector.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As part of a multidisciplinary NHS team, I work alongside clinicians, social workers, and community partners to support adults experiencing moderate to severe mental illness. I manage a caseload of service users, serving as their key contact and contributing to care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge support through the RiO clinical records system. I collaboratively develop person-centred recovery plans with individuals, focusing on their social goals and community integration. Central to my role is building strong therapeutic relationships through trauma-informed and strength-based approaches, empowering service users to achieve personal recovery goals. I support individuals in accessing local resources, attending appointments, and participating in wellbeing activities, peer support, and psychoeducational groups. Additionally, I promote and model recovery-focused, jargon-free communication across services and advocate for co-production and integrated care.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

To be successful in this role, candidates should hold an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or have at least two years' experience in a mental health setting. A strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery, and co-production principles is essential, along with experience working collaboratively with professionals, services, and communities. Knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and the Mental Health Act is also required. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and group facilitation skills are vital, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Confidence in using IT systems, including electronic case management tools, is important. The role demands resilience, adaptability, and the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries, alongside a high level of commitment.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
