Job Title: Arts and Learning Strategic Lead

Location: Based at our head office in Islington, London (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station) with cross working in various prisons across England, Community sites, and home working

Salary: £47,000 (Full time equivalent)

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00 with some flexibility. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service requirements.

About the role

This is a brand new role, supporting the Head of Safe Ground with the strategic oversight and delivery of our programmes. Safe Ground has been at the forefront of designing and delivering innovative arts-based, therapeutically informed interventions within the criminal justice system and in communities across the UK. As we approach our 30th anniversary this year, we remain dedicated to challenging systematic injustice through the programmes we run and the partnerships we build. This role is a great opportunity to be part of our transformative goals, in being part of creating systematic change.

Using theatre arts, and culture, we design initiatives to support those impacted by the criminal justice system in gaining deeper insights into themselves, their relationships and their behaviours. We do this by equipping our participants with practical tools and building a community who are open to doing things differently. In this role, you will develop best practice around creative interventions, building powerful partnerships with commissioners, partners, and other key stakeholders, ensuring our programmes are being delivered to the highest standards. You will lead on the development of new and existing arts-based work, identifying gaps and opportunities for growth within the sector.

• Oversee the development of new creative ideas and programmes as well as programme adaptations and redesigns. Ideas could be linked to theatre productions in and out of custodial settings, short films, live events, symposiums, but may also include new art forms and working with new artists
• Development of a local / national facilitator network
• Create and deliver engaging high-quality programmes which support rehabilitation and reintegration for participants
• Design and deliver innovation arts-based high quality training and quality assurance support to management and delivery teams across the SIG network - focusing specifically on relationships, culture and communication, conflict resolution, storytelling, power-sharing and co-production
• Lead on the development of creative ideas for Safe Grounds 30th anniversary, including; relationship building and partnership development, advocacy and networking, idea development - radio / stage / film etc
• Provide high quality peer-mentoring spaces, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities. Facilitate the team in identifying solutions to challenges presented in relation to all elements of service delivery
• Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment

About you

We are looking for someone who is ambitious and passionate about supporting people who have experienced multiple disadvantages and social exclusion. You will have proven experience in arts development and strategic support, with an extensive understanding of the criminal justice system and the role in which arts-based interventions play. You will be creative, empowering, and be a dedicated lead in supporting our strategic growth. You will understand arts-based interventions and methodologies, and have experience in developing and delivering creative programmes and productions.

• Previous experience in working and engaging with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Previous experience in developing, producing, and/or performing professional productions for example film, television, or theatre productions
• Proven experience in designing innovative arts-based programmes and extensive experience of facilitation of programmes and/or training for various groups
• A theoretical understanding of co-production models and practical application of building them and embedding them into best practice
• Previous experience and/or ability to people manage and develop a team
• Ability to create, develop, and deliver new programmes and/or creative content in various settings such as prisons, communities, and wider criminal justice settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Proactive in making decisions to deal with challenges and providing a solution focused approach using initiative

Pro Bono Community is seeking a Training and Volunteer Coordinator to help us achieve greater access to justice.

Pro Bono Community is a registered charity that has developed specialised training programmes for students, trainees and lawyers covering the practical skills involved in delivering free legal advice and areas of social welfare law. In conjunction with the training, the charity arranges and manages volunteering placements at Law Centres and other advice agencies. The charity’s activities include a number of grant-funded projects which the coordinator will be heavily involved in.

About the role

Pro Bono Community is looking for a Training and Volunteer Coordinator to help us run programmes aimed at improving the amount and quality of access to justice by training law students and others and then placing them to work as volunteers at advice agencies.

The Training and Volunteer Coordinator will report to and work alongside the Director to undertake work supporting the charity’s activities with a focus on recruiting and training students and lawyers and then coordinating volunteering placements for them at Law Centres and advice agencies. The role also includes administrative work relating to a pioneering digital advice clinic the charity runs in conjunction with a Citizens Advice agency in London.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Youth Outreach Worker in London for a new role within our UK Safeguarding on Transport Programme. This is a 12-month outreach pilot engaging and safeguarding young people in and around Waterloo Station, helping identify and safeguard young people under 18 years at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown. This role does involve working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

You will be working to identify and  safeguard young people alongside trained volunteers and by engaging with key partners such as Southwestern Railway (SWR) Met Police, Southbank Staff, Train Operators, Youth Service and other local stakeholders.

Overcoming MS is the world’s leading multiple sclerosis healthy lifestyle charity established in 2012. We are unique in our whole person approach and practical evidence-based focus upon self-management of MS, formulated as a holistic program. Job Description

The Healthcare Partnerships Lead will be responsible for the delivery of our Healthcare Engagement Strategy, through the development and delivery of projects and activities which embrace collaboration, raise the profile and credibility of both the Overcoming MS charity and Program, and extend supported self- management of MS within the health and social sector. We want to be the go-to charity for lifestyle and living well with MS and to demonstrate the added value we bring through education, resources, community and partnership working.

The past 12 months have seen the laying of a strong foundation for both increasing credibility and collaboration. This has included identifying barriers to supporting self-management in MS, developing education, piloting projects and resources to overcome some of those barriers in partnership with healthcare professionals. Honing datasets and presenting these meaningfully, has added credibility and demonstrated value. We want to see that foundation built on further, and shared more widely, taken forward by the new Healthcare Partnerships Lead.

Key Responsibilities

· The successful delivery of the Healthcare Engagement Strategy, identifying and prioritising engagement with our key audiences and stakeholders.

· Working closely with both our Medical Advisor, Information and Research Manager (new role) and with the existing HCP Advisory Group and wider engaged healthcare partners, to facilitate the development of the relationship, profile and reach between the charity and the health and social care sectors. Around information sharing, service design, and understanding of the role of lifestyle in holistic management of MS.

· Identifying and attending key healthcare events and conferences, building networks, partnerships and other resources to increase knowledge and awareness of how the charity and Overcoming MS Program, benefits people with MS and maximise opportunities for signposting.

· Building frameworks for data gathering and evaluation to effectively review benefit of collaborative interventions and report outcomes widely and meaningfully, in partnership with the Information and Research Manager.

· Maintaining understanding of policy and priorities of healthcare agencies to ensure mutual or aligned priorities from both, in addition to people living with MS, are all factors taken into consideration when developing plans and pathways.

· Identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnership working through engagement with HCP professionals and organisations.

· Lead on healthcare education through our existing partnership with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, marketing the education widely, evaluating its benefit to HCPs and strategically reviewing the format, vehicle and content as appropriate.

· Providing clear, responsive and consistent educational content around the importance of lifestyle choices and behaviours to healthcare professionals based on the current evidence-base and the Overcoming MS Program, working closely with the Information & Research Manager to ensure up-to-date and validated content.

 Other Responsibilities

· Creating meaningful engagement with the MS community and healthcare professional partners, widening our reach to support more people with MS.

· Mapping local assets and services to target and test appropriate resources and support to MS clinics, to help HCPs share information and support their patients to self-manage, tracking success.

· Empowering people affected by MS and their healthcare professionals to discuss lifestyle modification and the Overcoming MS Program with confidence, improving self-management and health outcomes.

· Engaging new HCP audiences, reducing barriers and perceptions of lifestyle modification in the treatment of MS. 

· Leading on the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of key programmes, considering key insight, collecting and analysing data to measure impact against project and charity targets.

· Supporting the delivery of key products, services and events both in person and online that reach multiple audiences and budgeting accordingly.

· Identifying opportunities for accessing funding streams, working with Fundraising colleagues to diversify our income base.

· Raising our profile within the healthcare environment so that they recommend the charity and will advocate on our behalf.

· As we are a small, busy charity, all staff help with the general running of the organisation in addition to their specific role activities.

About you
Education or experience in a related field e.g. healthcare management, public health, you’ll have a strong understanding of the NHS, Public Health and the UK health care policy landscape. Knowledge of the global health care landscape would be an advantage but not essential.

You’ll have previous experience as a senior healthcare lead or similar role for example within the NHS or similar medical field or will have experience leading community or public health related engagement programmes.

With excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, including working with stakeholders at very senior and professional levels, you’ll have strategic analytical skills, able to frame problems and solutions in a logical fashion and demonstrate a high degree of empathy and compassion for health-related issues.

You’ll have intellectual flexibility, able to embrace and deal with ambiguity, complexity and to be open to creativity in leading and bringing about effective change.

You are comfortable working remotely and attending events during evenings and weekends, with a full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. A UK registered charity, we work in collaboration with Palestinian communities and trusted local partners, and coordinate with key stakeholders and relevant clusters, to meet a wide range of health and social needs, from providing vital medical aid in emergencies, to supporting the development of better health services for the long term. Purpose of role

MAP is in a period of growth and rapid development, and as such, the incoming Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the financial strategy and management of MAP and for the leadership of operational areas to help deliver the organisation’s mission and strategic goals. The COO provides support to the CEO in areas of governance, legal and risk management and may deputise for the CEO as required.

Strategy, vision and leadership

• Be accountable to the CEO and Board in the areas of finance, technology, risk and compliance, supply chain and logistics, and safety and security.

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have

in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people

grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with

stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):

• Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
• Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.

The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action. 

Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently encampments and protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective. 

This is why we are looking for an Operations Lead capable of envisioning the full journey of a young person through their time with The Advocacy Academy from the first activation point to whenever they choose to end their journey with us. 1. You will become a key member of the Finance, HR & Operations Team, including but not limited to:

   1. Provide Support for TAA’s facilities, including cost savings and ensuring a safe and conducive work environment for our staff, members, and community groups by:
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Ops in ensuring the maintenance of our Liberation Centre, which includes: establishing protocols and processes for healthy work environments, supporting in making the space accessible and safe for all its user groups.
      • Supporting maintenance and safety checks are regularly carried out at the Liberation Centre, including security and fire systems, evacuation, and emergency drills.
      • Acting as the main point of contact with the council and centre manager and liaising on matters related to maintenance and repair.
      • Being the main point of contact for building contractors.
      • Supporting with identifying first aiders and marshals, acting as one of them, and ensuring that the first aid box is adequately stocked up at the Liberation Centre and that the fire extinguishers are within date.
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations with the development of applicable risk assessment forms (e.g., general risk assessment for the Liberation Centre, fire risk assessment, COVID, remote work, employee wellbeing, incident report, etc.) and their completion as may be required.
      • Rolling out mandatory Health and Safety training courses and undergoing regular H&S training to keep your knowledge updated and informed of changes in regulations.
      • Ensuring the space is well-stocked, and holding our procurement practices 
      • Liaising with our cleaner and making sure that the relationship works well and that the cleaner is supported in their access of the space
      • Supporting the Community team in holding overall safety practices for the Liberation Centre 
   2. Provide Support on TAA IT infrastructure, to include but not limited to:
      • Act as the primary point of contact for our IT support provider, engaging with them to ensure they are managing troubleshooting and issue resolution well.
      • Support the Finance, HR and Ops Director with planning for future IT infrastructure needs, keeping scalability and cost-efficiency in mind.
      • Assist the Director Finance and Resources with monitoring IT and data protection compliance throughout the organisation, ensuring secure data storage, transfers, archiving and deletion.
      • Sourcing and Setting up laptops and phones for staff, and supporting staff in using tech as part of inductions.
      • Keep updated with changes in legislation that may need to be considered within The Advocacy Academy’s facilities and IT management.
      • Managing our trello project management tool.
      • Leading on tech repair via apple support or penelope for the staff team
   3. Provide HR support, to include but not limited to
      • Supporting the Head of People with DBS checks and the onboarding of new staff, ensuring they have the necessary information and equipment for their work.
      • Working with the Head of People to ensure that all our candidates have a great experience from the beginning to the end. 
      • Support with Office induction for new starters.
      • Supporting with planning social events.

   4. Provide M & E Support, to include but not limited to
      • Coordinating and supporting the implementation of  monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) infrastructure across departments to track impact and efficiency.
      • Managing and optimising Airtable dashboards and databases to streamline data reporting and enable insights for decision-making.
   5. Provide Finance Support, to include but not limited to:
      • Be the main point of contact for our day to day Host finance administration. 
      • Supporting our team with generating sales invoices.
      • Monitoring and responding to our Operations and expenses and invoicing slack and email messages.
      • Processing invoices and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Supporting fundraising team with gift-aid reconciliation.

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Events Development Manager to lead our Events Fundraising Team. This is a rewarding role that comes at a time when there is significant change and progress for those living with cystic fibrosis.

Sitting within our supportive Community and Events Fundraising team, you will work alongside the Events Manager and Events Coordinators and focus on the Trust’s portfolio of challenge events for a fixed term maternity cover of up to 12 months.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate to ensure an effective strategy is in place to grow income sustainably over time across our Events portfolio.
• Lead the development and implementation of the challenge event portfolio to deliver annual income targets.
• Oversee the delivery of excellent race experiences for TeamCF participants at high profile events such as the London Marathon.
• Inspire a vision of exceptional supporter stewardship for event participants, demonstrating relationship management through in-depth knowledge and understanding of supporter journeys.
• Manage delegated budgets and KPI’s by using financial planning tools to maintain expenditure within agreed tolerances and achieving income projections.

To be the right candidate for this role, you will:

• Have significant experience of mass challenge event and project management
• Be experienced in managing, recruiting, developing and empowering others
• Have an in-depth understanding of Gift Aid and fundraising codes of practice
• Be able to work flexibly and collaboratively with a range of people
• Have extensive knowledge of health and safety and the legal requirements of mass event organisation

This is a role that requires some travel throughout the UK. You will be able to take Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) for this and claim travel and subsistence allowances.

The team all currently work from home and regularly keep in touch with online team meetings, individual catchups as required, as well as in person.

The existing postholder is also home-based, but we are open to candidates who would prefer a hybrid arrangement. If you are based at our London office, you would be expected to attend the office at least two days per week.

We will provide you with either London Weighting or a home allowance to support costs of travelling to work or working from home, a laptop, mobile phone and any other essential equipment needed for your role.
