Overview of the role

The Executive & HR Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that BRAC’s office in Europe operates efficiently and effectively to deliver its mission to support BRAC’s work. It is a broad role encompassing administrative, human resources, team internal comms, and governance support to the London office, reporting directly to the Executive Director but also working very closely with the wider senior management team and our board of trustees.

The European office is a small, dynamic and enthusiastic team, whilst very much part of the larger global BRAC family of organisations. This is a particularly exciting time as we embark on a new strategy to build our presence across Europe in support of BRAC’s global ambition to create opportunities for over 250 million people by 2030.

The position is ideal for an accomplished, highly organised candidate who is comfortable with a flexible, varied workload and brings a positive, can-do spirit. About the role

As Senior Consultant – Organisational Development you will play a central role in the design and delivery of INTRAC’s Organisational Development (OD) offer as a core member of INTRAC’s OD Team. This includes contributing to a portfolio of OD consultancy, research and training assignments, either in a lead role, or as part of small or multi-disciplinary team with INTRAC network members, staff and partners, building on your expertise.  You’ll be responsible for providing a mixture of content expertise, quality assurance and job management as well as designing and delivering training and facilitation sessions – often online, with participants from a range of contexts. You’ll help us build a global network of consultants, nurturing existing and new relationships, developing partnerships and securing resources.

They are currently seeking to appoint a temporary HR Manager, to join their team, initially for 3-4 months, with the potential of extension.

As a HR Manager, you will lead a small HR team and will be responsible for delivering effective HR services to the global organisation, reporting into the Managing Director, of Finance and Administration. You will be based in their central London office and be working to support staff across the UK, the US, Brazil, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Liberia, Nigeria, Myanmar and Indonesia.

Duties will include, overseeing global recruitment, new starter onboarding and inductions, maintaining HR policies and procedures, identifying learning and development needs, periodic benchmarking reviews of remuneration and benefits, performance management, monitoring staff engagement and retention, supporting diversity, Equity and Inclusion and providing high quality HR advice and support to managers and staff globally.

To be considered for this role, you will have previous generalist HR experience, particularly with experience working in a global organisation and / or within a charity and a personal passion for and commitment to social justice missions. You will also demonstrate knowledge of relevant employment laws and human resources practices, have experience of end-to-end talent management (recruitment, development, performance, and HR processes) and demonstrate the ability to successfully build and manage relationships with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Finally, you should be highly skilled at prioritising and managing multiple activities, with great attention to detail.

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people living with myasthenia.  

Myasthenia means muscle weakness. The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.

· We work to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition.

· We raise vital awareness and campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving the myasthenia community.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

· Advising and working with the Chair and Trustees on the strategic direction of the charity and implementing board decisions,

· Leading by example and embodying Myaware values of respect, passion, collaboration, integrity and sustainability,

· Networking across the sector and raising the profile of the charity and people living with myasthenia across the nations where Myaware operates,

· Delivering effective management and administration of the organisation,

· Leading a fantastic team of colleagues, supporting their work and development and displaying emotional intelligence and leadership.

· Providing a clear vision and promoting the mission, aims and objective of Myaware and leading delivering the budget, an ambitious fundraising strategy and organisational direction.

Co-locating an Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate (IDSVA), with Sexual Health London we will be identifying DA victims earlier than we otherwise could through other ways of working. This service prioritises early intervention and prevention.

About the Role:

This role is co-located within Chelsea & Westminster Hospital 3-4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street and/or working from home.

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.

As a Hospital Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of Sexual Health London, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust, the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
• Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need to:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact of abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic and sexual abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

About the role:

As Sports Coordinator for this leading UK Youth charity, you will deliver a sports programme through four distinct spaces: a gym/fitness suite; a sports hall; a MUGA (kick pitch); and a climbing wall. You will work with sessional staff and volunteers to ensure that these spaces are well-used and well-maintained.

You will also ensure that special projects/events that involve sports are properly organised and arranged. You will work to ensure the sports provision is ambitious, helping to deliver the charity’s overall objectives as an organisation.

• Extensive experience of delivering sporting activities to young people

Hope Place is a new supported accommodation service located in Slough comprising 10 self contained rooms with a staff office on site. The service accommodates and support people who experience moderate to high complex mental illness, many of whom will also have a range of additional and complex needs, for example drug and alcohol misuse issues and personality disorders.

Hope Place provides care and support for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Bank Holidays. The service is covered at night by designated Waking Night staff. Support Workers will be required to work on a rota basis, covering early and late shifts, including at weekends and Bank Holidays.

The service has a focus on enabling and utilise customers' skills. Amongst other responsibilities, the successful candidates will support service users to acquire tenancy sustainment and budgeting skills, encourage and facilitate group activities, socialisation, opportunities for training and employment.

The team provides technical advisory expertise and fosters and supports internal and external programme and technical partnerships and networks. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards and advise and support the delivery of a programme capacity enhancement strategy. About the Role:
The Climate and Environment Lead is a leadership position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team.  The Climate and Environment Lead is accountable for the strategic development and effective delivery of the core team responsibilities on climate resilience and environmental sustainability for high-quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, incorporating WaterAid’s and the sector’s leading practices, innovations and methods.

Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, they lead the provision of high-quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid’s programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.  

In collaboration with country, regional, and global colleagues, they lead the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and lead the development of relevant standards and guidance. They also provide high-quality strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.

The Climate and Environment Lead has substantial autonomy in determining what the technical objectives are and how they are delivered and achieved. They are held account for the integrity and effective delivery of the technical advice and services.  They are seen as a thematic authority and is expected to effectively handle the most challenging technical assignments.  With a strong understanding of organisational dynamics and ways of working, the Lead advisor is expected to bridge gaps and siloes, proactively establishing and maintaining relationships with colleagues across WaterAid and beyond, and facilitating joined-up and comprehensive efforts to advance WaterAid’s programming globally.

About You:

• Substantial technical experience in climate science, climate adaptation, resilience, environmental sustainability, environmental impact assessment and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• Strong technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, water, sanitation, health, hygiene, behaviour change, gender, inclusion, and/or other WASH-related topics.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven ability in leadership and strategic thinking.
• Substantial experience and success in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Strong ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting needs of diverse audiences.
• Organised and efficient. Demonstrated ability to drive tasks forward to completion in a timely manner while maintaining high quality.

As the People Business Partner, you’ll report to the Director of People, Finance, and Governance. You will lead on setting up and delivering a value-added people centric business partnering service. The Content Manager will be responsible for managing the Content Team within the Marketing & Communications Department, overseeing delivery of the content framework, using evaluation and measurement to enable strategic and creative development so Battersea’s content output achieves brand, marketing and organisational objectives.

• Oversee strategic delivery against the content framework, supporting the team in effective implementation and measurement

About the Role:
As our Utility Partnerships Senior Advisor, you will co-lead the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the development and effective management of Sanitation and Water Operator Partnerships (SWOPs) and other closely associated utility partnerships topics. Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, you will provide high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's utility partnerships programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

The Utility Partnerships Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Systems and Programme Partnerships team, reporting to the Utility Partnerships Lead.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, you will co-lead the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-lead the development of relevant standards and guidance. You will also provides strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.

About You:

• A progressive career record demonstrating strong technical and operational experience in one or more areas of sanitation and water supply service delivery, understanding of technical and operational management models, asset management and infrastructure, resilience, and sustainability, as well as other inter-related topics to sanitation and water services in both urban, rural and low-income settings.
• Substantial experience in the development of strategic partnerships demonstrating excellent networking and negotiation skills.
• Sound understanding of organisational development and change management processes, ideally in a utility setting.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven ability in leadership and strategic thinking.
• Strong experience in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Relevant technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, hygiene, health, gender, inclusion, environment and/or other WASH-related topics.
• Experience in public / private sector approaches and models for effective and sustainable WASH services.
