School in a Bag Trading Ltd is the wholly owned trading subsidiary of the charity School in a Bag and all profits made by the company are given to the charity to support its work in providing rucksacks full of educational, hygiene, eating and drinking equipment to displaced, deprived and disadvantaged children across the world. 

We operate a flagship three-day music festival, Home Farm festival, which has grown significantly in recent years. 2026 will be Home Farm Festivals 19th year and having started as a small one stage event it has now grown in profile and numbers, attracting nearly 5000 people on site for the weekend with 100’s of local bands performing, supported by nearly 200 volunteers.

Building on this success, we are now looking to diversify and expand our event portfolio to increase income and reach new audiences. The Event Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our events programme, leading on the management of the existing festival and developing, planning, and executing a wider range of events – from concerts and community initiatives to potential new commercial ventures. 

The role requires a creative, entrepreneurial, and commercially minded individual with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. We are looking for someone with Event Management experience and excellent team and volunteer engagement knowledge. We are looking for an experienced communications professional to support us with creating engaging communications. You will be responsible for activities such as: 

• Developing compelling propositions
• Delivering the communications to support major gift prospect fundraising events, from creating invitations and shaping the themes, through to developing event materials and briefing speakers 
• Creating and editing a wide range of communications pieces for our major gift prospect audience, from written case studies through to web content and video 
• Managing the development and execution of new creative for the Campaign for Southampton

This is a part-time role, working four days a week (but will consider 3.5 days), on a fixed-term contract for 24 months. About our Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges (formally known as Crisis Cafés) offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment between the hours of 5pm and 11pm. Service Users can attend without an appointment to help prevent them from entering periods of crisis or distress or if they are experiencing mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

Our Recovery Lounge Manager role in Bedfordshire involves coordinating a team of 8, across each site and ensuring the effective and safe delivery of the service working in conjunction with the NHS.

This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, deescalating crisis and leading a team of Mental Health Support Workers & volunteers. The role is part of a team within Mind BLMK and the Crisis Alternative Services.

Service Delivery

• Operate the Recovery Lounge service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs vision and values as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to services process, and undertaking 1:1s where needed.
• To manage a relationship with the mental health trust which ensures effectiveness of the crisis pathways for those who need further support.
• Work with the Recovery Lounge management to ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteers and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health and crisis care strategies
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of crisis workers, peer support workers and volunteers).
• Hold responsibility for health and safety, data collection and cash handling in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures and guidance.
• Ensure cover at site is adequate at all times, this will require a hybrid nature of the role to assist with gaps.

We’re seeking a project manager to lead this work with our trusted industry partners, working in collaboration with employers, local and combined authorities, schools and charities. We are currently delivering Ignite projects in Blackpool, East Riding of Yorkshire, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Northampton, Rochdale and London, and may take on additional projects in new locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead our Ignite place-based programmes, managing workshops, employer engagement, and volunteer coordination, while ensuring local partners stay central to design and delivery.
• Oversee programme delivery, stakeholder relationships, coordination and logistics
• Through targeted interventions ensure the right workshops and people are in place to support young people to raise their aspirations, develop their skills and bridge the gap between education and employment

This role is a hybrid of strategic and operational work.

Main purpose of post

Operational Support

 Provide operational management of our working spaces, including our
buildings, facilities and also our big purples buses within the community, ensuring the public, colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and
experience a warm and welcoming environment.
 Lead on the coordination of charity vehicles maintenance and insurance,
working with the Head of Cancer Services, Transport Coordinator and
Service Development and Engagement Manager for the Outreach Team.
 Review, Develop and Produce operational policies and procedures to
ensure the smooth running of the organisation (e.g. Lone Working).
 Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO) and lead on data collection
and storage in line with current GDPR and Data Protection Regulations.
 Lead with producing monthly and quarterly Operations Reports, and

Health & Safety
 Lead on Health & Safety and risk management, and the annual H&S audit

buildings, services, fundraising activity and home-based working.
 Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained on H&S and there is
appropriate coverage of Fire Marshalls, First Aiders, MHFA etc. on site, in
outreach services and for our charity events, as appropriate.
 Lead on our contingency planning and maintaining our business
continuity plan.
Tech Support
 Lead on cyber security training and improvements.
 Lead on IT equipment and access for staff, including the onboarding and
off boarding process and management of access to shared folders and
platforms.
Workwear and equipment
 Manage stock control and ordering of office and facilities supplies.
Support & Development
 Manage the Operations Assistant and support their development.
 Lead the Operational Working Group to ensure operational matters are
progressed in a timely and efficient manager, reporting progress to the
Leadership Team.
 Lead with the co-ordination of the annual renewals training for H&S, Fire
Marshalls and MHFA, support HR with the induction training of new staff.

To provide high quality support as a non-clinical member of NHS' multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team​ (CMHT) to an allocated group of adult service users (18+) with moderate to severe mental illness within the​community. To carry out duties in line with Hestia's and North London Mental Health Partnership (NLMHP)'s policies
and procedures.

You bring a solid foundation in mental health care, supported by an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or at least two years' experience in the field. You have a strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery principles, and co-production, empowering individuals to take an active role in their care.

You work collaboratively with professionals, services, and communities, applying your knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and the Mental Health Act to provide safe and effective support.

With excellent communication and relationship-building skills, you engage confidently with clients and colleagues, and your ability to facilitate groups encourages peer connection and shared recovery. You thrive both independently and in a team, maintaining professionalism in fast-paced settings.

Proficient in IT and electronic case management, you ensure accurate, efficient record-keeping. Your resilience, adaptability, and clear professional boundaries enable you to handle complex situations effectively. Above all, you are committed to person-centred, trauma-informed practice, providing compassionate and respectful support to every individual.

When will I be working?

You will be working Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 39 hours a week

Our new structure and our new ways of working will bring all of these services together under one delivery model launching next year. We're creating a new virtual support hub to bring together everything our community needs to manage their MS or support and care for someone living with MS.

Our Head of Community Services is a key leadership role in our Services and Support directorate, as part of our Services Delivery function.

Our Community Services delivery team includes our Community Support/ Resources services. 

Our Head of Community Services will be:

• leading on the delivery and continuous improvement of our Community based services, developing a high-performing and motivated culture within teams.
• providing clear leadership to ensure our community services and support are high quality, impactful and respond directly to the needs of the MS community
• responsible for our community services in our Live Well activity group and drive a one model approach across all of our services and support.
• responsible for the growth in the reach of our community services, ensuring that we increasingly represent the diversity of the entire MS community and decisions are driven by local need.

We’re looking for:

• experience in the delivery of community based services and support, including volunteer led services, events and services delivered by third parties. Including experience in quality assurance, development and meeting key performance indicators and ensuring community input and satisfaction.
• experience and excellent working knowledge of volunteering and volunteer management and leadership  
• substantial experience of successfully leading and managing a large and geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, embedding change and fostering a high performing culture.
• substantial experience of working in a senior leadership team determining strategic direction, financial planning and monitoring and ensuring successful delivery.

The Community and Events Manager plays a vital role in delivering a dynamic programme of community fundraising campaigns, events, and product innovations that connect people to our mission in meaningful ways.

Community is the team who inspire and support volunteers and fundraisers (the Rotary network, individuals, small businesses and groups) in taking action to help families who have lost everything to disaster. From giving school talks to undertaking 12-hour fitness challenges, selling homemade jam, and camping out in their garden - we believe each and every one of our fundraisers is an inspiration.

By leading on the management, development and evaluation of all aspects of the community fundraising strategy this role will help to grow ShelterBox income and reach across the UK and Ireland.

Who are we looking for?

ShelterBox is seeking a bright, motivated and proactive fundraiser who understands and is passionate about the value that our volunteers and different communities can bring to ShelterBox.

We are looking for someone to lead the Community team, a person who is able to juggle a busy workload with competing deadlines and someone who can be flexible and responsive when a major disaster occurs.

This role is responsible for leading on event and product innovations while supporting the team to develop best in class supporter journeys. We are looking for someone who has a vision for putting data at the heart of all decision making.

The individual should love working with people - be it the wider internal team, volunteers or fundraisers from across the country.

This is a key fundraising role and a great opportunity to inspire and engage with the wonderful supporters who enable ShelterBox to deliver its mission.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Deliver the community fundraising programme and continually monitor results, with particular focus on net income, Rotary engagement, supporter growth and the development of our volunteer network. Adjust and adapt plans accordingly.
• To set income and expenditure budgets for all community and events activity, monitoring industry and supporter trends, progress against budgets and reforecast income and expenditure as required.
• Set measurable KPIs for the Community and Events Team and objectively review the success and achievements against targets. Identify areas of risk and opportunity. Ensure contingencies are in place as appropriate.
• Strategically grow community income by identifying priority audiences and developing products/campaigns/communications to maximise the value of our existing supporters and to reach new ones. Ensure we remain relevant and future focused. To include the optimisation and mainstreaming of digital engagement.
• Continue to develop and test events, with the aim of growing our events portfolio, working closely with the Community Marketing and Events Officer.
• Embed evidence-based decision-making within the team, using insight and data to inform ways of working, and improving our use and adoptions of systems.
• Support team with stewarding high value community stakeholders, including the strategically important relationship with RGBI. Role model and support great relationship fundraising - leading by example to inspire high standards in the team.
• Lead the development of strategic plans to maximise our partnership with RGBI (including income, awareness and networking opportunities). Manage and support the Rotary Marketing and Engagement Officers to drive activity and performance. Work closely with the Rotary Partnership Manager to ensure plans and communications are aligned.
• Support Community Engagement Officer with the development and growth of our community volunteer network.
• Work with the Rotary Marketing Officer and Community Marketing and Events Officer to oversee the development of mass participation campaigns to engage target audiences (warm and cold) and grow income.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate major disaster plans for community audiences.
• Work across the team to review and develop 'donor journeys' in collaboration with the wider fundraising and Supporter Care team, ensuring an excellent supporter experience.
• Create an environment which supports the team to be confident in the contribution and development of new ideas for fundraising, ensuring we adopt a 'test and learn' approach through which people feel safe and supported to innovate.
• Ensure fundraising activity is carried out in accordance with current good practice and within charity law, managing contracts and agreements and providing advice to others.
• Represent the work of ShelterBox at events to members of the public and supporters, where necessary delivering presentations with occasional out of hours work required.
• Continue to develop a high performing team.
• Participate in the day-to-day work of the organisation - such as reporting, attending team meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach.
