Volunteering in the shop
Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.
Our East Dulwich Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.
It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied. We would also love to hear from people willing to volunteer on Sundays.

Public Programme Volunteers are a big part of making sure our diverse range of events go off without a hitch. They’re creative, enthusiastic, and great with people. They’re also keen to get stuck in and learn more about how public programmes in the heritage sector are put together and delivered.
The museum offers a range of public programming throughout the year but particularly in the summer (Wednesday to Sunday), and during Holiday periods (Monday to Sunday): February Half Term, Easter Holidays, May Half Term and October Half Term. We are looking for volunteers who are available during these periods to support with a range of activities.
How you will help
- Providing a friendly greeting for all visitors.
- Supporting the set up and take down of workshops, activities, and events
- Facilitating activities such as: Tower building in the Splash Zone, Bubble discos, crafts, Water Filtration Experiments, and more!
- Supporting visitors way-finding and access through the museum
- Working collaboratively with the wider LMWS volunteer team
Time Commitment

Gloucestershire Nightstop is a leading youth-specific homelessness charity dedicated to preventing homelessness among young people aged 16-25 in Gloucestershire. For nearly 20 years, we have championed bespoke housing and support models to help young people avoid, resolve, and move on from homelessness, enabling them to safely transition to adulthood and build better futures.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for someone who finds numbers and their impact interesting! We are less concerned with formal qualifications (although very welcome) than someone who commits to doing the work necessary in a timely manner and an ability to work co-operatively with the Chair, Executive Director and all trustees. The board takes the overall responsibility so you will need to be able to help trustees and staff to understand the financial information and its actual or potential impact on the charity immediately and long term. We have an experienced bookkeeper and an appointed experienced external examiner.
Overall purpose:
- Oversee all financial aspects of the charity, on behalf of the board of trustees, to evaluate our financial position and associated risks.
- Assist the Chair and the Executive Director in ensuring that the board of trustees fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the proper financial governance of the charity.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
- Financial Awareness: Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, accounting practices relevant to corporate governance.

About Spires
Spires is an award-winning charity that has been working with homeless and disadvantaged people in Streatham, South London, since 1990. Working with some of the most isolated and vulnerable in our society, we support over 900 men and women every year.
Our vision and aim is to be the best support that we can in helping people move from lives of distress, isolation and insecurity to a future of greater stability and hope. What will you be doing?

- Following up on any post-adoption queries
- Play an active part in the volunteer committee, being part of the team leading on cat adoption information and updates
- Collaborating with the cat eelfare team leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with Cats Protection policy and procedures
Time expectation
The cat adoption team leader role is vital within our busy volunteer teams. Our current volunteers spend around 10 to 12 hours per week in this flexible role, which can be shared by more than one volunteer if required.

What You’ll Do:
- Edit and create a series of TikTok and Instagram Reels using post-event footage, photos, and media that we’ll upload to Google Drive.
- Transform raw content into engaging short-form videos that highlight events, promote campaigns, and resonate with our audience.
- Stay on top of TikTok and Instagram Reels trends, incorporating music, transitions, and styles to increase engagement.
- Collaborate with the team to align your work with our branding and objectives.
- Produce visually compelling and shareable videos to promote events, initiatives, and impact stories.

Skills, Experience, and Qualities:
- Video Editing Skills: Proficiency with Canva Pro, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools to create professional-quality videos.
- Social Media Trend Knowledge: Awareness of TikTok and Instagram Reels trends, including popular music, challenges, and editing techniques.
- Creative and Organised: Ability to create engaging narratives from raw footage and maintain consistent quality and branding.
- Passion for Storytelling: Strong enthusiasm for using video to inspire change and communicate our impact.
- Time Management: Commitment to approximately 4 hours per week, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working remotely with a team and open to feedback.

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups and teams, all of which help our cats in different ways. Our treasurer volunteers maintain the finances of local groups and teams, ensuring they hold the funds needed to continue their vital work. Cats Protection relies solely on donations from generous members of the public, and our treasurer volunteers help make sure these funds are spent in the most effective way.

What we need from you
You’ll be:
- Preparing budgets
- Keeping accurate financial records
- Reporting financial records via ‘Cashlog’ (Cats Protection supplied software)
- Paying invoices and volunteer expenses
- Being part of a team which ensures there are sufficient funds to meet expenditure
- Updating and advising others on income received, expenditure and available funds
- Managing and monitoring donations made to the group
- Following financial procedures e.g. Gift Aid returns and VAT claims
Time expectation
Our current volunteer treasurers usually spend between 2 to 4 hours per week in this role. More hours may be required at certain times, such as towards the end of the financial year but support is always available.

Our existing 12 trustees bring a variety of skills and experiences, such as fundraising, safeguarding, finance and investments and lived RAF experience to the Fund. Your background, skills and experience will further enhance this for the benefit of the RAF Family.
The successful candidates will:
• be aligned to our vision, purpose, key goals and values and be able to demonstrate their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion;
• be able contribute positively to the Fund in a non-executive capacity, operate strategically, be held accountable and hold others to account;
• be able to build supportive relationships and work as a team. This will involve working collectively with others, supporting collective decision-making, being comfortable in sharing your views and expertise with fellow trustees and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) trustees whilst still bringing your own ideas, perspectives and experiences to discussions;
• have the ability to analyse and interpret complex information and evidence, demonstrate impartiality, intellectual flexibility and sound judgment;
• have the ability to listen, communicate and influence effectively;
• have the capacity and skill to understand stakeholder priorities; and
• be a collaborative and pragmatic problem-solver and have the ability to adapt and respond to change.
