About the role

Confidence in setting and managing large budgets, reporting on KPIs and adjusting plans as necessary is essential. An understanding of delivering community fundraising products and scaling ideas that support donor acquisition and retention is vital, with the ability to use insight to shape pipeline and stewardship planning. We have been successful to date in raising money for our farm including through crowdfunding, grants and other sources, but are embarking on the next stage in our development: an ambitious project to raise £650,000 to build an eco-barn: a sustainable structure that will serve as the heart of our operations. Role Overview: 

Sitopia Farm is seeking a part-time freelance Fundraising Consultant to lead all aspects of fundraising, with a specific focus on securing the £650,000 needed for our eco-barn project. This is a critical role that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping us bring this vision to life. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in fundraising strategy, grant writing, major donor engagement, and ideally an understanding of capital campaigns. We have had a strong track record in securing smaller amounts of funding to date and have a strong network and potential opportunities that this role could capitalise on.   

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy principally to secure c. £650,000 for the eco-barn project and support and develop fundraising for other farm activities as required.
• Identify and pursue diverse funding streams, including grants, corporate sponsorships, major donors, as well as crowdfunding and events.

2. Grant Writing and Proposal Development

• Research and apply for grants from trusts, foundations, and public funding bodies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Work with operational teams to develop funding applications to meet agreed income targets to help fund core activities and priority projects.

2. To develop and maintain a list of suitable, well researched prospects and ensure that opportunities for funding are not missed by maintaining a suitable pipeline.

3. Regular review of income pledges and received, and the funding pipeline, reporting progress and risks to manager.

4. Liaise with relevant project staff to coordinate and submit monitoring and evaluation reports to funders.

5. Ensure all reporting requirements are met in line with agreed deadlines.

6. To ensure that all relevant administration is recorded accurately on the fundraising CRM and shared team databases.

7. To monitor payment dates and ensure payments are received when expected.

8. Build and maintain relationships with funders, helping them to understand the impact of their support.

9. Support the Contracts and Planning Team with other duties as required, contributing flexibly to wider team priorities and organisational needs

Our new structure and our new ways of working will bring all of these services together under one delivery model launching next year. We're creating a new virtual support hub to bring together everything our community needs to manage their MS or support and care for someone living with MS.

Our Head of Community Services is a key leadership role in our Services and Support directorate, as part of our Services Delivery function.

Our Community Services delivery team includes our Community Support/ Resources services. 

Our Head of Community Services will be:

• leading on the delivery and continuous improvement of our Community based services, developing a high-performing and motivated culture within teams.
• providing clear leadership to ensure our community services and support are high quality, impactful and respond directly to the needs of the MS community
• responsible for our community services in our Live Well activity group and drive a one model approach across all of our services and support.
• responsible for the growth in the reach of our community services, ensuring that we increasingly represent the diversity of the entire MS community and decisions are driven by local need.

We’re looking for:

• experience in the delivery of community based services and support, including volunteer led services, events and services delivered by third parties. Including experience in quality assurance, development and meeting key performance indicators and ensuring community input and satisfaction.
• experience and excellent working knowledge of volunteering and volunteer management and leadership  
• substantial experience of successfully leading and managing a large and geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, embedding change and fostering a high performing culture.
• substantial experience of working in a senior leadership team determining strategic direction, financial planning and monitoring and ensuring successful delivery.

About the role

This is a creative and purpose-driven role at the heart of our charity’s communications. As Senior Communications Officer, you’ll help us tell powerful stories, share our impact, and build connections with our members, supporters and partners.

You’ll lead on producing engaging digital content, managing our social media and newsletters, and keeping our website fresh and accessible. You’ll also support light-touch fundraising campaigns, helping us grow our income and supporter base.

• A strong communicator with at least two years’ experience in a communications role.

• Skilled in producing visual and written content for websites, social media and newsletters.

• Confident using digital tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe suite, Wordpress/Drupal).

• Organised, creative, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

• Motivated by making a difference for people affected by genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions.

Experience in the health, social care or charity sector would be an advantage, but curiosity and empathy matter just as much as direct experience.

Sessional Youth Worker (Oasis Community Hub Hadley)

Oasis Community Hub Hadley encompasses a variety of integrated and diverse community projects which together have a common aim to bring transformation to the whole person and the whole community. 

Oasis Community Hub Hadley is looking to recruit a Sessional Youth Worker to join the Oasis Youth & Community Team.

Our team offer a wide variety of Youth Work activities that promote the development of young people, including open access youth club sessions, holiday clubs, mentoring, sports activities as well as targeted support. Training will be given. 

Key responsibilities will include:

- Working as part of a team be responsible for supporting on activities for young people within a number of sites in which we operate, including Oasis Academy Enfield, Oasis Academy Hadley, Ponders End Youth Centre and Bell Lane Youth Centre as arranged. 

- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people accessing our projects.

- Leading on activities that support the holistic development of young people.
