Job description

There are currently over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, and this is expected to increase to 1.1 million by 2021, and 2 million by 2050.

Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse services. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline - it helps everyone in the family to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

Our Admiral Nurses work with families across the country, face-to-face, in the community, in hospitals, care homes, hospices and other care providers. Admiral Nurses are reaching more families than ever before – but there’s a long way to go until everyone who needs this support can receive it. For those we can’t yet reach in person, the Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline provides support at the end of the phone and on email seven days a week.

It's a really significant time for Community and Events Fundraising at the organisation as we are a key part of a rapidly growing charity, raising a significant portion of the overall income. We offer a supportive environment across the team and organisation, and plenty of opportunity for development and training. This role is a good opportunity for someone motivated and enthusiastic who wants to join a growing charity and start or develop their career in Community Fundraising.

For further information please see attached job description.

Please note only applications including a CV and covering letter will be considered.
