The position
To support the Financial Controller in running efficient and effective financial processing, financial controls, financial reporting and monitoring on all AKF (UK) income. To maintain a close working relationship with other AKF (UK) employees and provide cover for the Finance Officer (Expenditure).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Financial processing
- Process donations received directly into AKF (UK)’s bank accounts into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process donations received through the AKF (UK) website into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately, including ad hoc and standing order donations.
- Process donations received from online fundraising websites into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process monthly donations from Jamatkhanas into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process all non-donation related income received into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Manage receipts of legacy income, ensuring full documentation and prompt transfer to AKF Geneva.
- Ensure all cheques and cash received are banked promptly.
- Ensure funds received for other AKDN agencies are transferred on a quarterly basis.
- Post all supplier invoices and supplier payments relating to Victoria Hall into Microsoft Dynamics.
- Prepare periodic statements relating to fundraising campaigns and share these with relevant individual donors.
- To provide cover for the following tasks owned by the Finance Officer (Expenditure).
- Ensure supplier invoices are authorised by the relevant budget holder and entered into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Prepare payments on online banking system and ensure payment paperwork is sent to the bank signatories in good time.
- Process all bank payments, interest payments, deposit movements and bank charges into Microsoft Dynamics.
Financial administration
- Manage the donations inbox and liaise with donors and prospective donors to provide information and respond to queries.
- Ensure Raiser’s Edge is up to date with key donor information and standing data.
- Prepare and send letters to donors to acknowledge donations received, on a timely basis.
- Inform the AKF (UK) National Committee Chairman of all donations greater than £10k.
- Ensure AKF (UK) Gift Aid declaration forms are up to date and in line with current legislation.
- Prepare and submit the online Gift Aid claims on a quarterly basis.
- Provide assistance with the annual audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts.
- Financial controls
- Complete the reconciliation of Raiser’s Edge to Microsoft Dynamics and to the bank on a monthly basis.
- Complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Complete the reconciliation of all funds received for other AKDN agencies on a monthly basis.
- Complete other balance sheet reconciliations as required by the Financial Controller.
Income reporting
- Produce monthly reports for AKF Geneva on Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee donations.
- Produce monthly reports for other AKDN agencies on donations designated to them by AKF (UK).
- Produce other ad-hoc reports on income as requested by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications
- CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).
Experience
- Minimum of three years hands-on experience in financial accounting.
- Advanced experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems.
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment (desirable).
- Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of such requirements.
- Experience working as part of a small hands-on team.
- Experience of filing Gift Aid claims.
Skills
- Good interpersonal, customer care and liaison skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong numerate skills with acute attention to detail.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines.
- A commitment to high professional and personal standards and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a multi-institution network within a multicultural environment.
Knowledge
- Understanding of and appreciation for ADKN’s goals, values and ethics.
- Knowledge of charity accounting, charity fundraising regulation and company legislation.

What will your role look like?
You will provide strategic leadership and direction to enable the CAYSH group to achieve its mission – to provide a safe home and better futures for young single homeless people and vulnerable adults.
Working in collaboration with the Board of Trustees/Directors and the leadership team, you will ensure the effective operational performance and success. The role is pivotal in continued growth and sustainability of the organisation and to improve the lives of our service users.
Main Responsibilities
· Drive the values of the CAYSH Group, raise its profile and develop a motivated and high performing workforce which is responsive to the needs of service users
· Be responsible for compliance with the organisation’s legal and regulatory duties
· In collaboration with the board, develop and implement strategic and business plans
· Oversee the CAYSH Group’s budgeting process and monitor financial performance
· Proactively grow income by developing business opportunities and securing donations
· Oversee the tender process with the Executive team, directing the acquisition of new business with governmental and charitable organisations and local authorities
· Support the leadership team to achieve their objectives in the areas of business development, operations, financial management, business support and compliance and HR, ensuring that outcomes for service users are at the heart of all we achieve

Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.
During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.
We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.
The successful candidate will bring a track record of effectively overseeing the day to day service delivery for a small charity, prudent financial management and an innovative approach to source and secure new opportunities for the Charity.

The Department and Team Summary
In support of Mercy Corps’ mission, the global Corporate and Foundation Partnerships team manages Mercy Corps’ fundraising relationships with major global companies and foundations. We set bold visions for the positive social change we can create with our partners, provide outstanding partner services and relationship management, and together build meaningful partnerships that provide value to all parties while creating lasting impact for the local communities where we work. Our partnerships span areas including emergency response, economic and market development, food and water security, climate change, and peacebuilding. We work across many teams at Mercy Corps, including marketing and communications, mass market fundraising, the executive office, and with our programme and country-based colleagues around the world. This position sits within Mercy Corps’ Development team.
The Position
The Communications Officer, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships will focus on two key workstreams: 1) Implementing the communications and profile-raising strategy for the Development team’s $250M Climate: Possible global campaign and 2) Communications projects supporting European corporate and foundation partners. Working closely with the Communications Director, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, and the Senior Director of Development in Europe, this position will coordinate across internal teams, including fundraising relationship managers and communications and marketing team members, and liaise directly with external partners.
Essential Responsibilities
CLIMATE: POSSIBLE COMMUNICATIONS & PROFILE-STRATEGY SUPPORT (60%)
●Support the execution of the Climate: Possible communications plan, including managing the creation of thought leadership deliverables, developing written and other creative content, and coordinating internal reviews.
●Create an editorial calendar, develop and track an ongoing stream of content for executive and agency social media channels that highlights Mercy Corps’ expertise in climate adaptation programming.
●Event support, including developing briefing documents, talking points, invitation copy, and social media promotion for external climate conferences and events and Mercy Corps-organised corporate and foundation partnership events.
●Create new deliverables and update the existing suite of Climate: Possible marketing materials, as needed.
GENERAL COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT FOR CORPORATE & FOUNDATION AUDIENCES (35%)
●Contribute to the development and implementation of multi-channel profile-raising strategies in support of the European strategic plan. Contribute to the profile and influence strategy to raise Mercy Corps’ profile with key corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
●Manage emergency response coordination for the Global Corporate and Foundation Partnership teams in partnership with the Global Sr. Communications Officer. Write emergency response communications (creating and sourcing content from internal teams), including email solicitations and updates, and help create donor deliverables, including decks and webinars to support emergency response fundraising amongst Corporate and Foundation partners.
●Source, transform, and create content into compelling Corporate and Foundation audience-specific products, including emails, blog and social posts, pitch decks, fact sheets, and videos.
●Serve as the communications lead, in partnership with corporate relationship managers, for corporate co-fundraising opportunities and submission prizes and competitions.
●Support strategic employee communications efforts for top European corporate partners in partnership with the Employee Engagement Officer.
●Monitor social media accounts of key Corporate and Foundation partners, and draft suggested posts for executive or agency engagement.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND TEAM PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (5%)
- Develop and maintain internal documents to track communications projects and evaluate and prioritise communications opportunities with partners.
- Stay abreast and socialize internal communications resources and general fundraising communication trends with the Corporate and Foundation teams.
- Contribute to Mercy Corps’ ethical fundraising and communications strategy by creating materials in line with our ethical storytelling approach and guidelines.

Reports Directly To: Director of Communications, Global Corporate and Foundations Partnerships and the Senior Director of Development, Europe.
Works Directly With: Climate: Possible leadership committee including Chief Climate Officer and Senior Directors, Directors/Senior Managers and Deputy Directors for Corporate and Foundation Partnerships; Employee Engagement Deputy Director and Officers; Development Coordinator; Marketing and Communications team members.
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills
- 4+ years of experience in corporate or non-profit communications
- Expertise across various marketing and communications specialties, including public relations, social media, digital marketing, and corporate communications.
- Outstanding writer with experience in multiple formats.
- Ability to translate dense, technical, and specific information into compelling and accessible messaging and copy.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise competing demands while maintaining attention to detail.
- Visual thinker – design skills are a plus; experience working closely with designers.
- Ability to adapt and pivot in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong understanding of relevant fields such as business, communications, marketing, non-profit management, or international development, as demonstrated through practical experience, coursework, or self-directed learning.
Success Factors
The Communications Officer, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, will have demonstrated experience creating high-quality, fit-for-purpose communications deliverables. An outstanding writer and project manager, they will work collaboratively with multiple teams and individuals across many departments to ensure successful project outcomes. Experience in corporate social impact, climate programming, or international development will be a strong asset.

Purpose of job:
In this role you will business partner with the Funding directorate to ensure high quality, accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting with respect to both restricted projects and unrestricted operational activity in the Funding team. The Finance Business Partner is the bridge between Finance and the other Directorates we support. The focus of the role is to provide finance expertise to budget holders to help them to understand their financial information and make informed decisions about their areas.
It is someone who truly partners with budget holders, to understand the key drivers, needs and priorities of different areas of the organisation and works with the relevant stakeholders to deliver our ambitious strategic goals.
The role
Support to budget holders:

- Produce templates and guidance to support budget holders with budgeting and forecasts.
- Arrange meetings to discuss and support budget holders with completion of templates.
- Work with the Chief of Staff to align the annual budget and business planning processes.
Funder proposals and reports:
- Support Fundraising team and Programme implementation teams with proposals to funders.
- Work with budget holders to develop and maintain list of funding, timelines and reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial reports for external funders.
Ongoing support:
- Work closely with the Fundraising team to improve and strengthen reconciliations, reporting and system links between the CRM system (Salesforce) and the Finance System.
- Develop and deliver training to staff and volunteers on finance processes and understanding financial information.
- Support with the development and monitoring compliance of the financial policies and processes and controls.
- Support Finance process improvement activities.
Finance team tasks:
- Creation of and running reports and transaction queries from SUN systems using Q&A.
- Managing quarterly VAT return process.
- Support annual external audit to include preparation of schedules and financial statements/notes.
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.
The person
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CiPFA or equivalent formal qualification) or in the final stage of qualification.
Knowledge and Experience
- Substantial experience of charity fund accounting (SORP).
- Knowledge & extensive experience of finance systems (SUN systems desirable)
- Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce desirable).
- Experience of business partnering in the charity sector, working with budget holders to prepare departmental and project budgets and forecasts.
- Experience of communicating complex financial information effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Substantial experience of producing management accounts and variance analysis.
- Experience of working collaboratively and in partnership with individuals, groups, organisations and stakeholders internally and externally.
- Experience of dealing with charity VAT.

The Dalit Solidarity Network UK is a small human rights organisation working to eliminate caste-based discrimination in the UK and South Asia. Registering as an official charity in 2003, Dalit Solidarity Network UK continues to grow as an effective campaigning and advocacy organisation, working on the issue of caste discrimination in the UK and being an active player in the global movement. Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.
Summary of the role:
We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:
i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;
ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;
iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Leadership and strategy
Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies.
Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.
Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in other joint initiatives as appropriate.
Operational Management
Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.
Fundraising:
Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.
Human Resources:
Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

What we are looking for in a Director:
1. A track record of successfully working at a senior level with strategic leadership and management responsibilities.
2. Ability to develop organisational strategies and translate them into plans and budgets.
3. Experience of working on issues of social justice/human rights/equality, diversity and inclusion and of campaigning for change.
4. Experience of representing an organisation to others, ranging from grass roots activists to government officials including high-level lobbying and advocacy and public speaking.
5. Experience of developing and managing budgets.
6. Proven track record and experience of fundraising from trusts, governments and corporate sources.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to plan and prioritise and keep to targets under pressure and to deadlines.
9. Willingness to travel within the UK and to work outside usual office hours if necessary.
10. Commitment to the aims of DSN-UK and sensitivity to issues of caste, gender, race and religion and commitment to ensuring equal opportunities.

We are looking for two individuals to help deliver an impactful GOALS service across London and build effective networks of support for people before, during and after treatment.
A main aspect of the role will be to support and work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.
The post holder will work with the Director of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.
Other support activities will be developed, such as group support and weekly meet ups.
The post holder will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, deliver presentations and other promotions within community, education and health centres to help grow and develop the service.
