MedEquip4Kids is a Manchester based national charity that improves the health of babies and children across the UK by providing hospitals with equipment not available from limited NHS resources. Last year this charity had a positive impact on an incredible 120,882 young people, and since 1985 has raised a phenomenal £24 million! We are looking for a Fundraising Partnerships Officer to join this small but mighty fundraising team and grow the vital income for this incredible charity!
The Role
By joining MedEquip4Kids in this capacity you will play an important role within the charity and duties will include:
- Maximising the charity’s income through the development of the corporate, trust and community fundraising portfolio.
- Developing a pipeline of new prospects and relationships (including one off donations, corporate partnerships and event participation).
- Researching, completing and submitting corporate trust applications.
- Providing positive leadership to volunteers and corporate donors ensuring effective stewardship and stakeholder engagement.
The role is varied and interesting and provides an opportunity for you enlist support to raise funds that will have a real impact on the lives of babies and children across the UK.
The Person
To be considered for this role you should come to us with experience of managing relationships and of working towards income targets. You should be a strong and confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with new contacts and develop existing relationships to maximise engagement. You should also have good written communication skills and the knowledge and ability to write compelling cases for support to obtain funds for the charity. We would welcome someone who has significant fundraising experience, but also those with awareness and interest in this area with the transferable skills to make a success of this rewarding career! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Centre Fundraising Organiser to join the fundraising team at our Lanarkshire centre in Airdrie.
As an integral member of the team, you will be based at the centre and assist in the delivery of a wide range of operational and administrative support, as well as social media activities.
Your responsibilities
- First point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers.
- Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers, etc. (by phone, mail and in person), including responding to requests for information, materials and more.
- Refer enquiries to the Centre Fundraiser where appropriate.
- Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise, and work with Maggie’s in line with the national strategy and plan.
- Provide excellent supporter care, which enthuses supporters and encourages commitment and loyalty to Maggie’s.
This is a demanding role in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently. There will be a requirement to work irregular hours and travel locally.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager, it is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Shop Manager in Surbiton's brand new Scope shop (Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4NS). The shop will be opening mid 2024. You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.
About you
You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. The training you will undertake from this 13-month course coupled with the RSPB induction programme and on-the-job learning will provide you with the skills, behaviours, and knowledge to identify, build and maintain relationships to raise financial (such as funds) and non-financial support (such as raising awareness) for the RSPB.

The RSPB is the country's largest nature conservation charity, inspiring everyone to give nature a home. Together with our partners, we protect threatened birds and wildlife so that our towns, coast and countryside will once again teem with life.
About the Role
Did you know that one-third of the RSPB's income comes from memberships? Our members are the backbone of our work, providing essential support through their generous donations which helps us in our efforts to give nature the home it deserves.
Through your studies/coaching and mentorship you will learn to engage in meaningful conversations to highlight the benefits of becoming an RSPB member and showcase how their contributions make a significant impact on our conservation efforts. The role will involve working 3 out of 4 weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Each day you will travel to different venues in your RSPB van, set up an attractive fundraising stand, and spend the day actively engaging with members of the public, spreading awareness about our conservation efforts and generating new RSPB memberships via direct debits.
- You will attend regular meetings with your Area Manager and regional Teams and either virtually or on occasions in person. You will undertake your course virtually.
- You will have 6 hours per week dedicated to study, which would be in addition to your development day where you will undertake training and development to further support you in your role.

- Ability to work outdoors and independently - One day you could be outside a store on the Highstreets, the next at one of our reserves. Wherever you will be working for the day you will have 4 weeks’ notice in advance. Initially you will be teamed up with a buddy but eventually you will work alone.
- GCSC (English and Math's) – preferable. If not, you will be expected to do an additional functional skills element to your apprenticeship.

As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are contractually required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.

As a Community and Corporate Fundraiser you:
will support the Chair of Trustees in ensuring the Charity’s further development and ambitious growth
- will take strategic and operational lead responsibility across (South) London and focused on Tooting/Wandsworth for the Corporate and Community Fundraising of the Charity, (community partnerships/corporate sponsorship) utilising your existing and new contacts, as well as events and challenges, individual donations, supporter engagement, lottery initiative, collecting boxes etc.
- will support our profile and links with current and potential partner organisations and take a key role in growing the profile and reputation of the charity.
- will recruit, manage and support a small but growing team of volunteer fundraisers and local ambassadors
In order to be successful, you must have experienced:
- Ideally, community/corporate fundraising experience in another charity or part of the voluntary sector. Or with the skills outlined above and developed in sales, marketing or other work experience
- Team leadership experience and supporting individual and project performance
- Excellent Communication skills both verbally and in writing and good IT skills
- Able to plan and implement fundraising events and initiatives ensuring supporter buy in and the careful monitoring of costs and income to ensure event profit and viability
- Good at leveraging support from social media and other marketing and PR initiatives

Context of the role.
The successful candidate will be guided by the Communications & Fundraising Officer to communicate the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers and demonstrate the impact of Upbeat Communities to our supporters and followers, as well as to new audiences. They will have a positive attitude and love communicating what we do as a charity.
The role can mostly be done remotely; however, it will be required for the candidate to travel to our base in Derby a minimum of 1 day a week to stay connected to the team, and for team meetings and training as and when they occur.

Upbeat Communities was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK and the stories they shared of their lives and their journeys. Through building relationships with those from refugee communities we were able to identify their needs and the best ways to respond.
One of the best resources a refugee can have to help them settle in their new home is a good social network. Relationships and connectedness can help overcome the many challenges faced by those seeking refuge. With this aim, we want to help connect refugees into community.

We greet new arrivals with our Welcome Boxes befriending project. We offer free English classes and community activities to help refugees (adults and children) integrate. We also empower the local community through awareness raising.

Content creation
- Creating written and visual content for social media and our website.
- Finding useful resources, articles, and news to be shared on our website, blog and social media.
Social media and website
- Day-to-day management of Upbeat’s social media accounts including creating and scheduling content, replying to messages, and interacting with followers.
- Updating the website with relevant images, statistics, and news.
Supporter stewardship
- Following Upbeat’s donations process, ensure donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner, and that all communications are logged on to our database (Donorfy).
- Researching local fundraising or awareness-raising opportunities and events.
Other
- Working with Upbeat’s Communications & Fundraising Officer on larger-scale fundraising campaigns throughout the year, as well as the communication of these campaigns.

For this role we are looking for a confident and resilient community organiser who can build strong relationships to support communities to create change locally.
What you’ll be doing:
The Communities Coordinator will support community groups to campaign for clean rivers at a local level. By facilitating grass roots action you’ll be galvanising a strong and powerful network of community activists that have the power to create change both locally and nationally. You’ll be responsible for taking River Action’s national campaign strategy to a local level. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and the wider team to develop a Community Toolkit (including advice for activists, and guidance and services for communications, fundraising, legal support and citizen science projects) to support communities as well as provide strategic support to empower community activists to campaign for clean rivers. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and wider team to amplify the stories of those taking action at a local level and connect campaign groups to the wider national agenda. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver our strategy ensuring our programme of community engagement is equitable, diverse and inclusive. You’ll be working closely with other organisations to ensure our community support compliments the work of others and meets the needs of community groups we work with.
Main Duties

Contribute to the development and implementation of River Action’s campaign strategy.

Develop River Action’s Community Toolkit as a package of support for local campaign groups.

Identify community groups within river catchments areas River Action is working and build positive and impactful relationships..

Organise site visits to develop good relationships and in-depth understanding of local issues impacting river health.

Convene and align local stakeholders around river catchment and regional campaigns.

Facilitate local community groups’ campaigns and provide support in line with our toolkit’s support package.

Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Action’s network of supporters.

Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and engaging digital media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos and conducting interviews.

Support the Campaigns Manager and Communication Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

Contribute to the Monitoring and Evaluation system for demonstrating impact of River Action’s community engagement work, reporting against KPIs.

Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowdfunding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and the charity’s mission.

This is an integral part of the development team, providing essential support across various fundraising initiatives and providing excellent supporter stewardship (nurturing our supporters/fundraisers on their journey with us).
