We are looking for a Director of Income and Investment to lead all UKMSA’s income generation, and to ensure we steward and invest our income effectively. You’ll work in partnership with the CEO, Board and leadership team to ensure UKMSA has the financial resilience to provide practical and strategic support to Men’s Sheds across the UK, and in partnership with our colleagues in the international Shedding movement.

It’s about shaping the financial future of the UK Shedding movement. In the immediate term, you’ll lead efforts to address our income deficit, while also laying the foundations for a long-term, sustainable and diverse income model.
 

This role is about more than just fundraising though; it’s about realising the power of relationships, and funding, to transform communities and societies. Working alongside the CEO and SLT, and in partnership with the Board, the UKMSA team, volunteers, men’s health stakeholders, partners, and Shedders, you will make connections that strengthen the movement and make it truly sustainable. In a world that feels increasingly polarised and divided, Shedding provides an inspiring antidote. This is about individuals, but it’s also about strengthening the communities where those Shedders live and contribute.

You will lead on the development of new partnerships, unlock opportunities for Men’s Sheds, and champion a creative, values-led approach to income generation and financial stewardship.

The Director will also work proactively as part of a collective senior leadership team, working closely with the CEO, and sometimes deputising for her, offering continuity of leadership, maintaining momentum, and stepping into key internal and external forums when required. This includes leading in partnership with other senior staff and board members and representing UKMSA at high-level meetings and events. The Director is expected to make sound decisions in the best interests of UKMSA and lead others with clarity and purpose.

The Financial Accountant will be a key member in our Finance and Performance team, part of Corporate Services, which supports the capabilities and programmes to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

About Dravet Syndrome UK

Dravet Syndrome UK (DSUK) is a small independent UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Syndrome is a rare neurological condition that affects around one in every 15,000 people in the UK. As well as experiencing severe, difficult-to-control seizures, children and adults with Dravet Syndrome have varying degrees of intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated conditions (known as ‘comorbidities’), which may include autism, ADHD, behaviours that challenge and difficulties with speech, mobility, eating and sleep.

Essential

We’re looking for a compassionate, digitally-savvy Support Mentor to join our team at Ditch the Label — one of the UK’s leading youth charities.

You’ll play a key frontline role in our digital support service, providing safe, empathetic, and empowering advice to young people (aged 12–25) across a wide range of challenges - from mental health to bullying, identity, and coming out.

This role requires full professional fluency in both written and spoken Mexican Spanish. You’ll be supporting young people in Mexico and must be confident providing direct support in the local language and context.

What you’ll do:

• Provide direct, one-to-one support to young people via our online platforms - including our support community, email, and social media DMs.
• Offer thoughtful, judgment-free advice on topics like anxiety, low self-esteem, identity, relationships, and bullying.
• Spot safeguarding concerns and act swiftly using our established procedures.
• Engage with and moderate our digital support community.
• Collaborate with our wider team to shape content and campaigns that reflect youth voices.
• Represent Ditch the Label’s values with integrity, authenticity, and empathy.

What you’ll bring:

• Fluent written and spoken Mexican Spanish (essential)
• A relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g. Psychology, Psychotherapy or Counselling) or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience supporting young people aged 12–25
• Solid understanding of youth safeguarding practices
• Strong digital communication skills, including confident writing and fast, accurate typing
• A genuine passion for empowering young people

Position Title: Helpline Supervisor
Reports To: Helpline Manager / CEO
Salary: £36,000 per annum, plus pension and employer NI contributions
Hours: 40 hours/week

Role Purpose:

The Helpline Supervisor will provide support, guidance and supervise the helpline advisors and in the future helpline volunteers. The role will further provide emotional support and debriefing for the helpline advisors and volunteers during each helpline shift and when appropriate after each reported incident. They will also oversee the quality of service and ensure each report is dealt with appropriately to a high standard and that reports are logged appropriately recording all relevant information, ensuring data is protected and all procedures are followed.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and emotional support to helpline advisors.
   

• Monitor call logs, case records, and system reports to ensure quality and flag complex or urgent cases.
   

• Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and lead on referrals involving serious risk or protection concerns.
   

• Deliver pre-shift briefings, post-shift debriefs, and facilitate reflective practice sessions.
   

• Coordinate rotas and ensure adequate shift coverage.
   

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of helpline staff (and volunteers when).
   

• Promote staff wellbeing and implement trauma-informed approaches in staff support.
   

• Liaise with external agencies and partners to strengthen referral pathways and collaborative responses.
   

• Lead on service improvement by identifying trends, risks, and areas for development.
   

• Monitor and analyse service data to contribute to internal reviews and funder reporting.
   

• Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding standards.

• Undergo regular training in trauma-informed approach, safeguarding, anti-Muslim hate and any other relevant topics.
   

Person Specification:

• Supervisory or senior experience in helpline, casework, or support services.
   

• Proven ability to provide emotional and professional support to frontline staff.
   

• Experience in handling safeguarding referrals and risk assessments.
   

• Trauma-informed approach and working knowledge of hate crime, discrimination, and support needs.
   

• Strong understanding of anti-Muslim hatred and Islamophobia.
   

• Excellent understanding of British Muslim communities, their diversity, and everyday practices.
   

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
   

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
   

• Experience using communication and case management platforms (e.g., RingCentral, Zoho, Microsoft 365) is desirable but not necessary.
   

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, or impact reporting is desirable.
