The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.
Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South–South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.
The Policy Engagement Assistant role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make up their own minds about SRM.
Joining a growing team, the Policy Engagement Assistant will support the Policy Engagement and Programmes teams through the provision of administrative services to ensure the efficient organisation of, execution of, and participation in events. Secondarily, the Assistant will provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team.
The Policy Engagement Assistant will work under the supervision of the Policy Engagement Director, while supporting the Policy Engagement Managers and the Programmes team. Responsibilities will include:
- Arranging travel, lodging and other travel logistics for Degrees staff, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants;
- Arranging meeting facilities;
- Facilitating requests for visas and other travel authorisations;
- Serving as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events;
- Ensuring proper distribution of information documents and meeting minutes in a timely manner;
- Drafting general and formal correspondence; reviewing and formatting documents and slides according to style;
- Organising and maintaining the policy engagement team’s shared mailbox and filing system;
- Scheduling staff and other meetings;
- Supporting processes for this new team, including aspects of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL);
- Maintaining the list of external policy engagement contacts;
- Any other related activity in support of the Policy Engagement team.

The Role

This means that you will be contracted and paid as full-time but you will sign a voluntary agreement stating that you commit to employing efficiency tools both individual and team-wide to deliver and be paid for 5 days work within four normal 9 to 5 days - the office is closed on Fridays. Training will be provided and you will be expected to continue to refresh your training and to keep up use of the efficiency tools. Annual leave is also pro rata’d. Partnerships and Income Manager Role Description
The Partnerships and Income Manager role involves engaging a range of stakeholders to help generate greater impact and income for Waterwise. The Partnerships and Income Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying potential new business opportunities; conducting outreach to new and existing stakeholders to encourage collaboration; building and maintaining relationships with Waterwise partners, sponsors and members; and assisting with developing winning proposals for funding, in order to deepen the impact we make with individuals, communities and businesses across the UK. The AI Opportunity Fund, led by the Centre for Public Impact with support from Google . org, is currently a €16 million initiative aimed at empowering underserved workers across Europe with essential AI skills. The programme has selected 73 organisations from hundreds of applications to provide tailored AI training to at least 20,000 workers across 24 European countries. These organisations focus on diverse communities, including rural job seekers, underemployed women, and public sector workers, aiming to bridge the digital divide and promote economic resilience. The initiative underscores AI's potential to drive social mobility and equitable growth across the continent. We are also hoping to scale our work in this area in the future.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Grants Programme Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the operational leadership of the programme, ensuring that it is planned and executed effectively on time, on budget and within scope. A key focus of the role is ensuring that the grant-giving component of the programme is designed and stewarded diligently.
This is a middle management role that is primarily operational with some elements of strategic leadership. It requires strong project management skills, good grant-making practice and the ability to manage relationships with diverse partners. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Regional Fundraiser to join our rewarding and growing team. This is an exciting role, which would suit someone looking to build and develop their relationship fundraising or broaden their sector experience in a major national charity.
From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you join is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. The successful candidate will be able to deliver first-class relationship and account management, maximising retention as well as driving opportunities to secure new income within Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Black Country (from prospecting through to pitch development and delivery).
Our team have a wealth of experience and skills to support you, and being a team player is essential. Recruiting, managing, and appreciating the value of our supporters and volunteers is essential. You need to inspire and motivate them to develop lifelong support.
This is a home-based role with regular travel required across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and the Black Country to engage with supporters. You may also be expected to attend occasional internal meetings at various locations across the UK, including our flagship offices in London, Birmingham, Warrington, and Belfast.
Please note that if you live outside the core area (Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and the Black Country), you will be responsible for covering your own travel expenses and time.

About you
- Experience in relationship and community fundraising or ability to demonstrate transferrable skills.
- Good understanding of budgeting and financial management
- Experience in identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
- Experience in delivering excellent supporter stewardship and/or customer care.
- Able to analyse data and information to make decisions.
- Proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets.
- Ability to work remotely and independently and travel across an extensive patch.

Regional Fundraiser – Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Black Country

International Care Network is a Christian charity whose aim is to help to rebuild the lives of asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. The UASC team provide Ofsted regulated supported accommodation to asylum seeking young people referred by various local authorities. We are looking for an experienced support worker to work within the UASC team to provide regular support to vulnerable asylum-seeking young people aged 16 to 24.

Our highly successful newsletter reaches disabled people, the transport industry, and decision makers. Our award-winning campaigns team creates compelling narratives that challenge and change systems.
Over the last few years our reach and membership has grown in size and profile. This role will support a continuation of that growth, producing engaging content that connects with people, attracting new members and supporters, ensuring people can access our advice services, and helping us achieve justice in society – where disabled people’s voices are amplified, and our message is heard and acted upon.
