A Finance Officer is required within our vital and growing community organisation to; manage financial systems, create and report on finance to the trustee board and stakeholders of the Loughborough Community Centre.

What you would do:

Oversight and day to day management of the organisational financial systems, including:

• Using Quick Books, spreadsheets to track expenses and company spending.
• Company payroll, tax and financial auditing.
• Keeping well-organised files and records of business financial activity.
• Archive of reports, receipts, and other financial evidence.

What does your role look like: 

Quality Oversight: Ensure high-quality early years learning and care at Rosebuds Preschool. Requirements: 

Looking for an individual that can inspire and develop a team, is willing to learn and has a passion for working with children, young people and their families. High Trees Community Development Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Community Action to join our senior management team and lead one of our core service areas.

This is an exciting and important role within our work, continually shaped by the needs and priorities of the communities we work alongside. While the focus of our Community Action service evolves year on year, it always centres on social action, capacity building, and strengthening community voice.

This coming year will see this work expand rapidly, following High Trees’ successful bid to deliver the local authority contract for capacity building support to voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations across Lambeth. The Income Generation and Communications team currently raises £5 million a year to support the work of Bolton Hospice. Our consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, but we also consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. And we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.

We care for patients throughout their illness, helping to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. We also provide compassionate, dedicated and dignified care for patients at the end of their life. As our services and reach increase, so does our income target, so the successful candidate will build on our previous fundraising success and ultimately help us reach more of the people in Bolton who need us.

The Role:

You will act as the first point of contact for individuals, groups who are fundraising on the hospice’s behalf, providing information, support and advice and delivering excellent supporter care.

You will be responsible for maximising participation in community fundraising activities through effective promotion of the wide range of opportunities to organise events and raise funds on the hospice’s behalf including the planning and delivery of community-based mass participation events such as the Bolton Hospice Reindeer Run.

You will inspire support and help raise the profile of the work of the hospice from community groups, associations, companies and schools by providing talks and presentations about the organisation.

Developing new and existing relationships, networking and identifying and approaching potential supporters is key to the role.

What you need:

You’ll need to be creative and flexible in order to continually adapt to the changing fundraising climate and evolve the hospice’s fundraising appeals programme as necessary.

It is a busy role, and no two days are the same, so you’ll be highly organised in order to develop thorough plans, juggle competing priorities and problem solve effectively.

You will be an inspiring and enthusiastic communicator and relationship-builder and be passionate about providing excellent supporter care. You’ll be able to use your talents to negotiate and influence stakeholders when required.

Proactive and dynamic, you’ll be able to manage an ongoing calendar of appeals whilst constantly looking to develop new fundraising initiatives. Experience of working for a charity would be an advantage, but not essential.

As Fundraising Officer - Events & Community, you'll play a key role in the fundraising team to deliver annual income targets through our third party and challenge events, delivering exceptional stewardship to participants and being able to deliver excellent financial reporting and administration. You will have a good understanding of event and community fundraising, specifically integrated stewardship journeys, the financial processes that go alongside events and have a passion for the Teach First mission. You'll play a key role in growing and maintaining our events and community income and will bring expertise in managing donors, excellent stewardship and operational tasks.

• Do you have at least 1 years' experience working within community, events or engagement fundraising?
• Are you skilled at building excellent relationships with a wide range of supporters on the phone, in writing and face to face with clear and professional written and verbal communication, and can you anticipate supporters’ needs and respond to them timely to create high quality supporter experiences with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences?
• Can you accurately manage donor records, tracking income, and delivering stewardship activities?
• Can you take ownership of tasks, suggest improvements, and resolve issues independently when needed and are able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, often across different projects?
• Do you work well with colleagues across fundraising to deliver joined-up stewardship?
• Are you comfortable using CRM systems, email marketing tools, and basic data analysis to inform engagement strategies?

At the British Heart Foundation (BHF), we believe survival from cardiac arrest shouldn’t depend on your postcode. That’s why our Community Resuscitation work focuses on delivering two impactful programmes—CPR training and community defibrillator funding—to reach people wherever they live.

As our Community Resuscitation Programme Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of these lifesaving programmes. You’ll help ensure our processes run smoothly, applications are managed efficiently, and our customers receive the best possible experience. From handling funding applications and responding to enquiries, to working with suppliers and internal teams, you’ll help place defibrillators in areas of greatest need and support the rollout of digital CPR training.

You’ll act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, gathering insights to improve our services and representing the programme in cross-organisational meetings. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and support BHF’s mission to improve survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.

About you

You’ll be a proactive and organised individual with a positive, can-do attitude and a passion for delivering excellent service. You’ll thrive in a busy environment and enjoy working collaboratively to support impactful programmes.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience in administration and customer service, with confidence handling a wide range of enquiries
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a good understanding of finance processes such as purchase orders and invoices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A customer-focused approach, with the ability to interpret and respond to different needs
• Experience working across diverse programmes and with a range of stakeholders
• A willingness to learn new skills and build knowledge of Community Resuscitation and wider BHF activity
• The ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams

Working arrangements

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London (NW1 7AW) Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

We’re looking for a caring, motivated and hands-on Community Worker to join our team. You’ll help run our Soup Kitchen sessions at St Peter’s Church in Blackpool’s South Shore, making sure food preparation, service and cleanup run smoothly. You’ll also provide support to people and families facing difficulties such as homelessness, addiction, debt, housing insecurity, mental ill-health or domestic violence. The role includes gathering feedback from attendees, working with volunteers, and building links with local schools, councillors, faith and community groups.
