Job Purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

Person Specification

• Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress and crisis

About the role:

The Children & Young People Worker will be based in our Brent service and hold responsibility for delivering one to one and group work services for children of the age of 5 – 18 years, where there is domestic abuse perpetrated from one parent to another or in the household. The post holder will provide support and advocacy for young people and identify and improve referral pathways for those experiencing domestic violence and abuse to access ongoing support.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse as its effects on women and children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and young people’s sectors. As an experienced children and young people’s advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis, and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with children survivors of domestic abuse and working with young people and children in face-to-face and group-work is essential for this post as is working within safeguarding principles and promoting a strong partnership approach to service provision.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

You will have great knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and young people who are or have experienced domestic abuse, or have a parent experiencing domestic abuse, and the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group including, education, confidence and relationship building.

You will have the ability to network, influence, problem solve and apply solution focused approaches to increase access and safety and facilitate positive outcomes for women and children.

You will have excellent risk assessment, support and advocacy skills and the ability to advocate successfully using evidence and professional experience.

You will have experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a

range of stakeholders.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

ABOUT US

MaidEnergy is a renewable energy Society, which supports the growth of renewable energy infrastructure projects for the benefit of the local community. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are expanding. 

MaidEnergy supports the growth of locally generated and locally owned renewable energy in Maidenhead, Windsor, Egham, Staines and the surrounding area. We are a community business, democratically run, with an asset lock to preserve the solar panels or other energy generation infrastructure for the benefit of the community.

We launched our first renewable electricity generating community Solar Photovoltaic (PV) share offer in 2015. Since then people have demonstrated their faith in us by investing £970,000. Their investment has funded eight Solar PV installations totalling 640kW and a 60kW Ground Source Heat Pump. These installations have brought low carbon, lower priced renewable energy to public organisations and seen 260 local and national investors join a movement of ethical and financially rewarding community ownership.

MaidEnergy works by:

· Finding community buildings that are interested in cutting carbon emissions

· Raising community finance from people in the local area and throughout the UK, through the issuing and managing of community share schemes, to fund installations

· Providing all relevant legal documents and arranging grid export capability

· Managing the installation and all ongoing maintenance

· Working with sites to maximize financial, environmental, and community benefit

MaidEnergy has achieved all this with volunteer Directors, supported by committed volunteers and specialist contractors as required.   MaidEnergy is part of Community Energy People and is now looking to employ a second co-ordinator to increase our capacity and improve the consistency of our response.

Job Title:  MaidEnergy Project Co-ordinator

Terms:   Probationary 6 month period.  £14,000 for 15hrs per week (£35,000 FTE pro rata).  Working hours can be flexible to fit around an existing role or circumstances.

Role:  This is primarily a remote working role but with the support of MaidEnergy’s experienced team and monthly in-person meetings (usually in Maidenhead).

Post-holder priorities are to assist the MaidEnergy team with the following tasks:

· Support to the Board of Directors

· Monitoring performance of MaidEnergy’s existing estate, liaising with sites, and scheduling routine maintenance and identified repairs.

· Manage stakeholder communications – to members, public, customers, investors, volunteers

· Co-ordinate engagement with volunteers

· Training/ skills development

· People management/ supervision [of second post] and volunteers

Post-holder responsibilities

· Provide regular reports to the MaidEnergy Board on project progress

· Deliver activities efficiently and effectively

· Support the smooth running of projects and positive relationships with clients and stakeholders

Skills and experience

The Epilepsy Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Fundraising to lead our income generation efforts and help drive our mission forward. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing sustainable funding to support world-leading epilepsy research.

With a proven track record in fundraising, you will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy across multiple revenue streams, including corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations and major donors. With a minimum of three years’ experience in a senior fundraising role and demonstrable success in securing significant funding, your ability to cultivate and manage donor relationships, craft compelling funding proposals, and oversee high-impact fundraising campaigns will be key to our success.

You will be the backbone of the philanthropy team, ensuring the smooth running of administrative tasks and providing vital support in managing donor relationships. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to handle confidential information will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Philanthropy team.
• Coordinate meetings for key groups, including arranging logistics, communicating invitations, and distributing papers and minutes.
• Serve as an alternative point of contact for team enquiries, managing the general email inbox and directing enquiries appropriately.
• Assist team leads with administrative tasks, including biographies, letters, and receipts.
• Support donors by providing information on events and addressing their enquiries.
• Manage financial transactions, including creating payment reminders and receipts.
• Contribute to the quarterly newsletter by collating news pieces on the Award and events.
• Assist with event preparation and on-site support, liaising with guests and ensuring smooth event execution.
• Manage the day-to-day administration of our CRM, Salesforce, including uploading documents, adding accounts to campaigns, and creating leads and accounts.
• Conduct due diligence reports on new donors and lead reports through approval channels.
• Ensure all processes comply with fundraising regulations.
• Undertake other duties as required to support the organisation's objectives.

Person specification:

• Proven experience in providing high-standard administrative support in a busy office environment.
• Demonstrable experience in communicating with a broad range of stakeholders using various media.
• Experience with Salesforce or a similar data management tool.
• Experience in working or supporting others in managing relationships with key stakeholders.

You’ll have significant experience of developing and implementing relevant external affairs strategies and of successfully leading policy, communications or campaigning functions in an organisation of comparable size and complexity. You’ll also need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.

As well as leading on planning and budget setting for the external affairs functions, as a member of the leadership team, you will also contribute to the strategic leadership, planning and policy formulation of the MS Society as a whole.
