About Us
Gulab Sorkh Foundation (GSF) is an independent charity supporting former members of the Afghan security forces and their families, who have come to the UK under the Government’s Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP). Our mission is to help these individuals rebuild their lives, access support, and integrate fully into British society.
We have recently been awarded new funding under the Communities for Afghans (CfA) Phase 2 programme. This funding allows us to expand our work supporting Afghan families through Sponsor Groups, which is why we are growing our team to ensure we can provide high-quality support to all participants.
About the Role
You will manage all financial aspects of the CfA programme, including budgets, payments, grant compliance, and financial reporting. You will work closely with Sponsor Groups to process payments, provide guidance on grant rules, and ensure all financial activity follows strict compliance and fraud control procedures.
We are looking for someone who is meticulous, trustworthy, and experienced in managing grant-funded programmes.

The role is suitable for someone with ideally at least 3 years experience with strong all-round knowledge and accuracy, particularly in month-end processes, bookkeeping (including oversight of accounts payable and receivable processes), ledger experience (ideally Xero), the experience of management accounts, cash flow, VAT, audit processes, gift aid.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Main objectives:
- To ensure an efficient and effective finance function
- To deliver effective daily financial operations and controls and the provision of quality reporting to help accurately manage the financial activities of the organisation
- To provide guidance to staff on financial policy and procedure
- To provide support to the part-time FD and implement any new directives for the Finance function, as instructed
Summary of duties:
The provision of accurate and timely business support and analysis, including:
- Responsible for the ongoing day-to-day running of the company’s financial systems, primarily on Xero accounting software and Excel.
- Management of month-end process ensuring all procedures are completed including bank reconciliations.
- Support departments in finance reports in liaison with department contacts, discuss/resolve any variances.
- Delivering other ad hoc reporting and analysis for all departments as required
- Ad hoc financial guidance and input for departments as required, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and assistance, particularly for larger one-off projects.
- Develop, review and document all financial systems and procedures and keep information and processes up to date, (Soldo Card, approval & posting of purchase invoices)
- Balance sheet – posting and reconciling all the balance sheet accounts including the processing of prepayments, deferrals and accruals as required
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships and levels of customer service across the GM
- Supporting the part-time Director of Finance in the development of the finance system in relation to management reporting and analysis
- Assisting in maintaining and improving our internal controls and processes as the finance function continues to grow
- Work with external partner to ensure that the annual accounts are provided in a timely manner
- Ensure annual Gift Aid claims are completed and processed in a timely manner
- Manage the accounts payable process and ensure all invoices are posted correctly, and paid in line with company policy.
- Oversee the accounts receivable process and ensure all sales invoices are posted correctly.
- Review debtors weekly and take action to ensure invoices are settled in good time.
- Review and resolve any issues with monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare management accounts, cashflow and other papers, as required.
- Monthly Payroll: To ensure:
- correct posting and reporting, so as to enable Finance Director review and authorisation for payment;
- all PAYE and pension contributions are submitted and paid on time
- effective interaction with the HR manager who prepares and manages the monthly payroll and the company auto-enrolment pension scheme)
- Compilation and submission of monthly payroll to external payroll provider including staff salaries, reviewed by the Finance Director.
- Support in monitoring and to ensure the company’s compliance with financial and finance-related regulations including tax, VAT, accounting regulations, Charity Commission, Companies' House (including SORP, SOFA) and Charities Act.
· Responsible for ensuring that all transactional processing happens efficiently and effectively.
· Manage and maintain the fixed assets register ensuring the company has accurate and relevant information on all assets.
General responsibilities:
- Participate in staff meetings and appropriate working groups
- Carry out any other reasonable duties, in line with role requirements or as instructed by your line manager

Solid digital fundraising skills are essential, including experience with platforms such as Donorfy, Mailchimp, and JustGiving. The role requires compelling copywriting and data analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
This role is a part-time, permanent position (21hrs) with hybrid / flexible working in their Guildhall office, City of London. The salary for this role is £24,000 to £27,000 which is a full time equivalent of £40,000 to £45,000.

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.
Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.
The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

Job Overview
As the UK Policy Manager for refugee, asylum and integration issues, you will sit in the UK advocacy team and join the Global Policy and Solutions department. You will be responsible for analysing policy developments in the UK and developing solutions that are high impact. You are a critical thinker with experience of policy development on refugee issues in the UK. You will seek to make the most of IRC’s knowledge across departments and look for new and creative partnerships in the UK. You are clear communicator and can distil the complexity of policy for a range of audiences.
Major Responsibilities:
• Solutions Strategy: Support UK strategy development on refugee protection and integration, working closely with the UK Advocacy team and other internal collaborators, and support relationships with external policymakers and key opinion formers.
• Analysis and Solution generation: Work with internal and external partners (esp. programmatic teams) to understand the biggest challenges facing IRC's clients in the UK and support the team in the creation of a suite of technical and policy and practice solutions.
• Thought Leadership: Be IRC's authoritative voice on solutions for the most pressing issues facing our clients. Lift other policy voices as appropriate, especially those of our clients and local organisations.
• Collaboration and Convenings: Build and maintain a network of relevant NGOs, think tanks, academics, international organisations, policymakers, and other experts to support the IRC’s policy and solutions development, with an expertise in refugee resettlement, asylum, and integration and inclusion policies. • Focused Advocacy and Advocacy Analysis: Support the UK Advocacy team representing the IRC at external meetings and/or supplying briefs for policy targets. Where relevant, help identify advocacy targets (esp. political appointees, civil servants). Work with Advocacy colleagues to develop and strengthen effective and targeted advocacy plans, strategies and tactics that are as effective as possible, including supporting policy analysis for specific markets.
• Content and message development: Develop analytical and policy content (reports, briefs, etc.) that can be used across IRC for influence, funding, and profile-building opportunities. Support the maintenance of Advocacy Master Docs and Communication Master Docs on refugee protection and integration in the UK.
• Policy Communications: Provide subject matter expertise to communications team to shape communications including op-eds and press releases. This may include acting as lead writer or reviewing existing materials from other departments to provide policy expertise and analysis.
