About the role

You’ll join our finance team as a Systems Accountant, bringing strong financial and technical skills. This role is ideal for someone part-qualified with experience in successfully implementing finance systems and improving financial processes. 

You’ll act as a bridge between finance and IT, ensuring financial systems are optimized to meet business needs, driving efficiency, and enhancing financial reporting.

What you'll do

• Support the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of financial systems.

• Collaborate with finance and IT teams to ensure smooth system integration and data accuracy.

• Assist in configuring and testing new financial systems or system enhancements.

Your Role in Our Vision

Join our Legacy Administration Team and manage a varied and active caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary bequests. This is a pivotal role, helping to ensure that every gift left to Marie Curie is handled with care, accuracy, and respect — enabling us to continue delivering our essential services.

Legacy income is one of the most significant sources of funding for our charity. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and maximising that income through diligent case management, effective communication with solicitors and executors, and a firm understanding of probate law and best practice. Your work directly contributes to our ability to care for people affected by terminal illness.

Experience across all UK jurisdictions is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
• Ensure Marie Curie receives its full legal entitlement, in line with Wills and settlements.
• Handle correspondence efficiently, updating records on our FirstClass 4 database and meeting internal service standards.
• Act as the lead charity where appropriate and liaise with co-beneficiaries.
• Monitor and progress open cases to ensure timely completion.
• Review estate accounts carefully, ensuring accuracy and appropriate application of tax exemptions.
• Obtain tax deduction certificates where cost-effective to do so.
• Ensure funds are allocated correctly to restricted or unrestricted purposes as specified in Wills.
• Comply with Law Society guidelines regarding Non-Contentious Costs.
• Represent Marie Curie’s interests in shared estates and collaborate with legal professionals and the public.
• Identify and escalate potential risks or disputes that may affect our entitlement.
• Seek opportunities to maximise the value of legacies and proactively manage estate assets.
• Support stewardship activity by working closely with the Legacy Marketing and Local Legacy teams.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote, provide the City and Hackney Recovery service. Job Purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.

Rainbow Migration is the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and has been campaigning for their rights since 1993. We are recruiting for a Legal and Support Services Assistant to act as a first point of contact for the charity and assist the legal and support services teams.

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week Monday to Friday). Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £25,244 FTE with potential annual step increases up to £28,412, plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. Duties and Responsibilities:

About You

You are a fit for the role of Senior Legal Officer if your background includes:

• Provide a high-quality case work support and information service to victims/survivors who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence.

£55,000.00 per annum, working 35 hours per week.

This role encompasses two critical functions:

• Business Partner to Central Services - Assisting head office functions in managing their budgets.
• Financial Planning & Analysis - Supporting the Senior Manager for FP&A in overseeing the budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.

About you:

• Previous experience of planning and budgeting and delivery of key reports in a large organisation.
• Be capable of managing (sideways and upwards) senior individuals across multiple disciplines and have extensive, demonstrable people management experience and a clear understanding of the people implications and people agenda on the success of the business.
• Financial expertise to understand requirements, produce reports, provide financial analysis and to identify underperformance and risks.
• Confident, ability to lead, and communicate with others to influence business decisions and financial performance.
• Meticulous, accurate and attention to detail
• Experience in business modelling and financial forecasting.
• Advance skills in using Excel and to learn specific planning systems such as Bricks

What you'll bring:

Essential:

• ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent full professional qualification.
• Ability to analyse complex financial information, identify issues, recommend solutions and express them clearly to "lay" managers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and all levels internally and externally.
• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Constructive contributions and relevant recommendations to senior management to improve the performance.

Desirable:

• Experience in business partnering of FP&A
