Summary of the role:

The Supporter Relations Engagement Team is involved in the planning and development of programmes and projects that puts supporter engagement at the heart of everything do we do. They play a pivotal role in making Muslim Aid more data and insight driven in the way we fundraise and communicate with supporters. About the Role:

As the Foundation starts supporting its third cohort of Scholars, we need an organised, communications focused and proactive individual to grow our capacity in two significant areas of our work: our regular in-person events, and our recruitment and assessment process.

You will take the lead on, and quality assure, all Martingale events including our Welcome Dinner for new Scholars at the Royal Society, autumn assessment centres, regular training days for Masters and PhD students, our week-long summer residential retreats for Scholars, as well as events for current and potential funders and other stakeholders. You will also help secure high-profile speakers from relevant industries. While these events will be delivered in collaboration with other members of the team, you will bring your event management expertise to drive forward planning and delivery, and ensure these events are of the highest standards for Scholars and stakeholders.

You will also play a vital role in Martingale’s recruitment and admissions work. You will be line-managed by the Communications Manager and will support in the dissemination of Martingale recruitment materials to relevant universities, student societies, charities and learned societies, to ensure a high number of applications to the Martingale Scholarship programme. You will also work closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Officer to deliver well-run assessment centres and programme events across England and Scotland. You will also support the Communications Manager through producing high-quality content relating to Martingale events, to be distributed through our social media channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Event management

• Research and secure high-quality external venues for Martingale events, and work effectively with teams at those venues to ensure events are delivered within budget and to a high standard
• Liaise closely with colleagues on event purpose, scope, and intended outcomes, and plan effectively using Martingale’s CRM and other project management tools as necessary
• Be the key point of contact for all events, including briefing colleagues and externals to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear
• Where necessary, work with the Team Administrator to ensure travel and accommodation is booked for staff, Scholars, and stakeholders
• Research and recommend high-profile speakers for Martingale events, acting as key contact for all speakers and trainers for events
• Conduct evaluation including post event debriefs and appropriate communication materials
• Lead on event wrap-up and embed learnings into future event planning

Recruitment and assessment

• Grow partnerships with relevant contacts to support our recruitment, including researching and connecting with appropriate organisations who are mission aligned or may have suitable alumni for Martingale Scholarships
• Disseminate materials on Martingale’s Scholarships to appropriate external stakeholders
• Help manage enquiries sent through to our social media platforms
• Work closely with the Programmes Team to book venues for Assessment Centres, and support with all logistics including schedules for assessors and candidates, ensuring a positive first impression of the Foundation for potential future Scholars

Communications 

• Deliver effective communication in line with organisational strategy
• Create high-quality content on Martingale events for dissemination through our social media channels, website and newsletter
• Manage Martingale’s collaboration with community engagement partners: Axiom Maths, In2Science, and The Brilliant Club

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. My client helps charities and social enterprises to build stronger and fairer communities. They provide funding and support to organisations to ensure they have the tools they need to make a positive difference to our society.

They are currently keen to secure some additional resource for their busy finance team, leading on the finance business partnering.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare the monthly performance reports and related management information with appropriate commentaries.
• Produce monthly departmental reports, carry out variance analysis and investigate variances by working with budget holders.
• Develop strong relationships with, and become the finance subject matter expert, for budget holders.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant and have a proven track record in finance business partnering and analysis. A good level of Excel and a practical, can-do approach are also essential.

This role has been assessed as inside of IR35. With flexible office working practices, this role can be delivered fully remote.

The role

The Digital Media Officer role provides support to Crimestoppers and Crimestoppers’ youth service Fearless, in creating impactful content and campaigns that empower people to speak up about crime.

You will be responsible for filming, creating, and scheduling organic and paid social media content, and as the face of Fearless’ social media platforms, feature in the content yourself. You will play a key role in shaping and driving forward Fearless’ communications strategy to ensure Fearless’ social media platforms remain relevant, engaging and supportive of Crimestoppers overall aims.

You will contribute to the development of Crimestoppers and Fearless national and regional campaign ideas, content and messaging and manage the execution and reporting of multi-channel communication activities. You will use data from campaigns, as well as insights from focus groups, to inform future projects.

What you'll bring

• Ability to think creatively and to communicate creative ideas to others. (Essential)
• Experience in designing and creating engaging and innovative content (including featuring in videos/audio) and campaigns for social media platforms or websites. (Essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a good eye for design / visuals, ideally with expertise in software applications like Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva etc. (Essential)
• Experience managing social media accounts and analysing engagement data to inform future content and campaigns. (Desirable)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present self professionally to internal colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. (Essential)
• Highly organised self-starter; persuasive, tenacious and perceptive. (Essential)
• Able to work effectively in a team and use initiative to manage and prioritise own workload. (Essential)
• Experience in communications or digital marketing/content creation. (Desirable)
• Knowledge of using web analytics. (Desirable)
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite). (Desirable)
