Purpose of the Role
This exciting new role is about creating connections, building ecosystems and developing and strengthening relationships that power social justice movements. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with the CEO to lead our partnerships and community engagement work — creating the enabling conditions and networks that help youth-led movements grow, sustain, and make lasting change.
You will take lead on:
- Partnering with other funders to resource youth-led change, including co-designed and co-held programmes with other foundations.
- Developing community partnerships based on the needs and priorities of the young people we are here to serve - including charities, local businesses, and local authorities.
- Understanding the landscape of youth-led change and social justice work, identifying gaps in support and guiding our investment to help fill them, both at the national and local level.
- Monitoring and communicating the impact of our work with external audiences.
- Ensuring our work is grounded in safeguarding practices that minimise harm and uphold our commitment to care, equity and justice.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.
The College is a charity with over 13000 members worldwide. The majority of members are doctors and scientists working in hospitals and universities in the UK.
The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.

Main Purpose
The Royal College of Pathologists is seeking a ServiceDesk Manager to lead the IT ServiceDesk and operational management of the IT function. The post holder will have a proven track record of leading a team of ServiceDesk Analyst to provide support for the College's IT and AV technology transformation. The role will be responsible for overseeing the day to day support of the IT and AV services across the RCPath. Reporting to the Head of IT, the ServiceDesk Manager is a highly visible and leading role within the IT Team and will work closely with all departments and the Senior Management Team. The following are some of the key requirements for the role:
- To lead the support of college-wide data and business applications. This includes Microsoft 365, Open Engage (and the new Dynamics 365 replacement) and associated interfaces to the College websites, LEPT (Learning Environment for Pathology Trainees) and other business application services.
- To ensure that the IT supporting services (IT & Audio Visual) are operational on a 24x7, 365-day basis.
- To manage the continual service improvement for the support of all business systems and associated processes.
- To support College users and events in the use of business applications and Audio Visual equipment, including identifying and supporting training for users (as required).
- To support the management and delivery of projects according to the College’s ongoing development plans.
- To manage an accurate log of all college IT and AV (Audio Visual) Inventory (hardware and software) in a central database (SolarWinds) and ensure that all stock items are kept in a clean, efficient, organised and tidy location.
- To design, deliver and maintain controls and service processes aligned to industry standards, based on the ITIL Service Management processes.
- To analyse, interpret highly complex information as part of major Incident reviews based upon a variety of volatile information sources and produce concise, accurate root cause analysis reports to ensure the team continue to learn from such incidents and avoid re-occurrence.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy for the on-going support and development of the business-critical IT infrastructure and security.
- To support and update the IT Risk register, identifying risks and issues in own area of work.

About the role

About you
This role requires experience of assisting in managing a shop including knowledge of retail and health and safety legislation and administrative/cash handling experience.
You will also have an ability to deal with customers and maintaining a high level of customer service, have good verbal, written communication skills, as well as being comfortable using IT and EPOS reporting. You will have an ability to motivate yourself and others, have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working under pressure and dealing with changing priorities. Please note you must also be willing and available to work flexibly across 7 days per week according to a rota which will be agreed in advance with your manager.

What we’re looking for:
· Someone with a successful track record of building strong internal and external relationships and generating income ideally from community and corporate opportunities
· Someone who can create and deliver strong stewardship plans to maximise income and retain our supporters
· Someone with a growth mindset who is solution focused. Someone who can manage their time and workload, and utilise our given processes, systems, and parameters to overcome barriers
· Someone who can deliver a personal portfolio within an overall Regional Fundraising team target, demonstrating an understanding of how to mitigate risk and maximise return on investment
This role would be focusing mainly on the West of Scotland but covering the whole country as needed, with some additional supporters based in Northern Ireland.

About us
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas. This role will require you to lead on organic social media as part of the DEC Communications team, working closely with the Digital and Innovation team in Fundraising, collaborate with social leads across our 15 member charities and public figures through our talent agency. During appeal launch periods it will also involve managing a small social media team of volunteers.
All roles at the DEC are based in our London office. We operate a hybrid working model, with some non-negotiable office attendance.
