Charity People are delighted to be supporting AdviceUK, a small charity which improves the lives of people in need of advice through support to its members, to recruit a Funding and Programmes Manager.

AdviceUK makes a big impact. Its stakeholder, policy and advocacy work is across devolved nations as well as the UK. They support members, so it is easier for them to help their clients, and by directly influencing policy-makers, decision-makers and funders. There are currently 700 AdviceUK members and 1.7m people were offered free advice by members on a diverse range of issues including debt, housing, benefits and immigration problems.

This is an exciting time to join AdviceUK's growing team as they launch a new three-year strategy. The organisation will be making a significant investment in capacity, new support services and innovation to deliver the support and advice that members, the wider advice sector and their communities need.

The Funding and Programmes Manager will support members and the wider advice sector to access and secure grant and other funding directly with the purpose of sustaining advice services. The post holder will nurture positive relationships with funders and administer grant-funded programmes on behalf of funders ensuring programmes are supportive of the needs members and the communities they serve.

Key responsibilities

• Funder Relationship-Building: Foster and maintain relationships with grant-makers and other funders to make funding available to members and advice services, share insights to shape future funding, and develop new funder relationships that create income for AdviceUK and its members.
• Programmes and Project Management: Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, coordinate involvement of staff and external partners, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and maintain effective governance, risk management and monitoring.
• Project and Programme Development: Identify funding opportunities, develop funding bids and proposals, lead tenders for contracts, ensuring these new projects integrate with AdviceUK's strategic objectives.
• Data and Evidence Management: Evaluate projects to share best practices, conduct research and data analysis, support performance reporting, and ensure accurate and timely data entry.

The Funding and Programmes Manager will have at least 2 years' experience managing multiple time-limited projects and programmes in a similar role, and an understanding of the social welfare advice sector, the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. The successful candidate will have experience of setting up and maintaining effective processes to monitor projects/programmes deliver funder requirements and agreed objectives, and experience of programme monitoring and evaluation. You will have experience of working with funders to support the development of their funding strategy and programmes, building successful bids for project/programme funding, and assessing and applying for government funding, contract and tenders at national and local level.

You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, managers, members, partners and funders, with strong analytical, decision-making and organisational skills. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely to a range of audiences. You will be able to use online reporting tools and CRMs and embrace new technologies and ways of working.

This is a home-based role. You will need to regularly attend meetings and events in London. There will be 4 all staff meetings a year, three in London and one outside of London. There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted.

The role will involve:

· Development and delivery of an impact and evaluation framework for BITC’s Place projects

· Development and delivery of a theory of change for BITC’s Place approach

· Support prospectus development as we reach our ambition of driving impact in 50 places by 2032

The role will focus on the outreach provision, working in different locations across Salford providing training to employers about the issues faced by working carers. In the role you will also connect with other organisations to create partnership and referral options. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).

The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support service to carers in Manchester  

The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice immediately where possible and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.

As the programme & volunteer coordinator your role is to help make this a reality through the coordination of programmes in line with our business plan, and overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and support of our volunteers. 

Your role is designed to flex to coordinate existing or new programmes as the needs of our organisation and its users evolve. In its first year, your role will be to coordinate our Penfriends letter writing programme and our grants programme. You will have day-to-day administrative support from our Office, Programmes and Grants Administrator to complete administrative tasks, and you will be supported by the Head of Service Delivery to embed an organisational-wide approach to volunteering.

We’re looking for a MEAL specialist who is, at heart, a peacebuilder.  You’ll deputise for the Regional Director as needed, and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.

As Regional Head of MEAL, your work will go above and beyond reporting to the donor on logframe outputs and outcomes to the donor, as important as those are.  With your extensive peacebuilding experience, you’ll work with the team to develop and implement sophisticated metrics for measuring these changes over time.  You’ll feed this information back into programme delivery, to ensure programmes remain accountable to the wider population and adapt to the rapidly changing and fragile contexts in which we work.

You’ll also use your flair for writing and your publishing skills to produce more informal news items, telling stories of the impact of our work, and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues we facilitate.  This will help us amplify voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based policy making.

Evaluate and enhance existing data collection tools used during previous monitoring exercises

The Rank Prize

The Rank Prize is a prestigious award recognising significant contributions in the fields of nutrition and optoelectronics.  The Prize is awarded biennially at our prizegiving ceremonies.  These events gather an audience of around 150 distinguished individuals including renowned professionals, academics, influential leaders and experts in the fields of nutrition and optoelectronics, who come together to celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of the honoured recipients.

Our ideal candidate for the role of Events Coordinator is a highly organised and detail-oriented professional, with a passion for creating memorable and impactful events. Location

We all work from home, however travel and overnight stays are required as part of the role.  You'll attend around three symposia a year, which usually run from Mondays to Thursdays and are currently held in the Lake District.  You'll also attend up to three half-day meetings in London a year, which may require overnight stays depending on how far away from London you live.  The biennial prizegiving ceremony is also held in London. It would be helpful if you had a full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

The Head of Engagement is a key role within the Public Engagement team. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team and work with us to shape how Factory International has increasing impact and creates high quality, ambitious and exciting engagement opportunities for residents across Greater Manchester.
 

Factory International has one of the UK’s most wide-reaching public engagement programmes creating opportunities for people to influence, shape, take part, develop and have fun in a broad range of cultural activities. We have been nurturing a wide community of interest across Greater Manchester over many years with thousands of people engaging with our organisation every year. The Head of Engagement will work closely with the Public Engagement Director and Head of Learning to establish clear outcomes and objectives across public engagement and areas of audience development.
 

Recent examples of engagement programmes include;

• The Welcome - nine days of co-curated programming with 22 Greater Manchester residents that formed part of the opening season of Aviva Studios and welcomed over 11,000 visitors.
• Neighbourhood Organisers – key paid roles that link Factory International to the many communities of Greater Manchester. Neighbourhood Organisers are passionate residents who help their local community get the most out of Factory International.
• Free Your Mind - over 100 Greater Manchester residents took part as volunteer participants in this large scale immersive performance created for the opening of Aviva Studios.
• Community Partnerships Programme – a partnership programme with local community organisations to provide £10,000 towards core or community activity alongside 10 months of logistical and capacity building support from Factory International.
   

The key responsibilities for the Head of Engagement role include;

• To work alongside the Public Engagement Director and Head of Learning to reflect on, monitor and reshape, where necessary, the vision and direction of the department responding to the changing environment and organisational needs.
• Provide leadership and innovative approaches to engagement and audience development, helping to develop strategy and sharing best practice internally and externally.
• To be responsible for the development and delivery of engagement programmes for Factory International with/for a range of audiences to excite and engage people in the arts.
• To manage and develop the Engagement Team ensuring team and organisational objectives are met, alongside managing relevant financial and physical resources related to the delivery of engagement programmes.
• To support and create audience development initiatives in collaboration with partners and Factory International’s Audiences team to successfully promote opportunities across the organisation.
• Ensure quality across all of Factory International’s engagement and participation work including the highest standards of safeguarding, ethics and equality.
• To work closely with Factory International’s Commercial and Philanthropy Teams to secure additional resource and explore new ways of funding and developing engagement work.
• Lead on the monitoring and evaluation for engagement programmes to ensure targets are met and are delivering effective engagement across the city and city-region, working within the organisation’s wider evaluation and monitoring framework.
• To represent the organisation in meetings, networks and events.

ESSENTIAL

• Experience of developing and delivering successful programmes of engagement, community building and audience development.
• Experience in supporting the development of strategic programmes of work to meet key objectives.
• Experience of successfully managing staff, budgets and other key resources.
• Demonstrable ability to effectively monitor and evaluate programmes of work.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate and build trust with a diverse range of stakeholders and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrable ability to assist with fundraising and/or sourcing new models of income generation for engagement work.
• Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Willing to get take relevant statutory checks eg DBS (Factory International can support with processing and payment).
