MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the flow of legacy income ensuring the smooth, efficient and sensitive handling of gifts received through bequests, wills and estates. The role requires a close attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and good numeracy. Appropriate and sensitive written and oral communication with families, legacy supporters and solicitors is very important.

The role requires compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. In essence, an Assistant Legacy Officer is a vital part of a charity's fundraising efforts, ensuring that legacy gifts are processed efficiently and effectively, maximising their value and impact. Most of all, it is about honouring the wishes of those who support us by way of gifts in their Will.

Although the role of Assistant Legacy Officer sits within the Finance Team, it will also include some elements of legacy fundraising and marketing in collaboration with the Marketing and Fundraising team. This includes promotion of our free Will service and supporting promotion of legacy giving through campaigns and events.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Legacy Administration:  Managing a caseload of legacies (pecuniary, specific, etc.), ensuring the organisation receives its full entitlement, and keeping records up-to-date.
• Communication: Interacting with solicitors, executors, and other beneficiaries, responding to inquiries, and providing updates on legacy progress.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records on the organisation's Digbi system, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating reporting.
• Compliance: Keeping abreast of probate matters and ensuring the charity's legal rights are balanced with reputational considerations.
• Collaboration: Working closely with the Senior Legacy officer and with other teams, when necessary, such as Pet Profile, Finance or Marketing teams in relation to legacy giving, legacy fundraising or gifts in wills.
• Reputation Management: Ensuring all communications and actions related to legacies maintain the The Cinnamon Trust’s positive reputation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritize tasks. Numerate: able to understand the presentation of accounts and income data Experience in the charity sector is helpful Knowledge of relevant regulations and legal procedures is beneficial. This is a demanding but deeply rewarding role that combines service delivery, engagement, and emotional resilience. As Events & Engagement Officer, you will work closely with our Operational Support Team to design and deliver a varied programme of online and in-person events. These will support the wellbeing of our Members (adult family members of injured veterans and serving personnel), reduce isolation, and build understanding of the challenges faced by military families.

The Ripple Pond is a UK-wide charity that supports the adult family members of physically or psychologically injured Armed Forces personnel and veterans. We provide peer support, structured guidance, and signposting to improve wellbeing and reduce isolation for families who often carry complex emotional burdens in silence. Our work is rooted in lived experience and built on a foundation of inclusion, compassion, and community.

The Operational Support Team lies at the heart of our frontline service. It delivers one-to-one support, coordinates safeguarding and triage, and ensures Members are connected to the right pathways at the right time. It is a trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent team that works with care and professionalism, ensuring that no one caring for an injured veteran or serviceperson feels alone.

You will start your time with The Ripple Pond by embedding into the Operations Team for approximately two months. This will give you a firm grounding in the lived experiences of our Members and ensure you’re fully trained to act as Duty Officer. As Duty Officer, you’ll receive and respond to referrals and enquiries, complete needs assessments, carry out risk assessments, and navigate Members to appropriate internal or external support. This may involve responding to distressing and traumatic situations, including domestic abuse, suicidal ideation, addiction, and other complex issues. You will also be expected to attend (online) multi-agency meetings.

This role requires emotional resilience, sound judgment, and exceptional communication skills. You will need to work flexibly, including some evenings and occasional weekends, and travel to a limited number of face-to-face events and meetings throughout the year. In return, you will be part of a supportive, values-driven team making a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with your colleagues to design and deliver an engaging and inclusive programme of digital and in-person events that support Member wellbeing, build confidence, reduce isolation, and encourage peer connection.

• Co-develop activities such as themed discussion groups, creative and recreational workshops (e.g. book clubs, craft groups, quiz nights, art workshops, journaling, fitness, etc.), and skill-building sessions.

• Plan and lead external engagement sessions for professionals and stakeholders to improve understanding of the Armed Forces family experience.

• Manage the full event cycle, from concept and scheduling to promotion, delivery, and evaluation.

• Work closely with the Operational Support Team to ensure all activities reflect Member needs and organisational aims.

• Act as Duty Officer on a rota basis, including during periods of staff leave or absence. This includes responding to new enquiries, completing needs and risk assessments, and triaging Members into appropriate pathways of support.

• Respond sensitively to Members disclosing trauma or distress and act in line with our safeguarding and escalation procedures.

• Attend virtual joint-agency meetings when required to support Members or represent the charity.

• Use digital tools to promote and deliver content (e.g. Zoom, Canva, Transpond, Eventbrite, CRM systems).

• Collect and evaluate Member feedback to help refine services and contribute to reporting and development work.

• Support cross-organisational projects and team-wide initiatives as needed.

Terms and Conditions

• Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week

• Schedule: Three days per week, 9 am to 5 pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)

• Flexibility: Some evenings and occasional weekends will be required to support Member activities or represent the charity. Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Purpose

As part of GoodGym's Operations Support Team, you will play a key role in coordinating volunteers to provide practical and social support for older people across the UK. 

The crucial part of this role will involve supporting volunteers and beneficiaries throughout processing and confirming mission requests for practical tasks and monitoring and supporting befriending pairings. 

You will also work as part of project teams making changes to improve our processes. And you will collaborate with and support colleagues across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in digital administration, working with volunteers and vulnerable people, and should be comfortable working on different projects simultaneously.

Office Management

• Providing phone and email support to our members, referrers and beneficiaries

Volunteer Support

• Acting as the first point of contact for volunteers, whether over email or over the phone; supporting them on either social visits or missions, troubleshooting and resolving issues where necessary, maintaining complete volunteer records and reporting to the Operations Support Team Manager if any safeguarding issues/allegations are made in line with GoodGym’s Safeguarding Policy
• Providing administrative support for missions, including but not limited to: communicating with referral partners, screening and listing missions on the GoodGym website, confirming missions with beneficiaries on the phone and ensuring best safeguarding practices are upheld
• Supporting volunteers through the process of DBS applications, checking references and making judgement calls on volunteers’ suitability for the volunteer role

RSPCA Sussex West, an independent branch of the National RSPCA network, supports the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of cats and dogs in the West Sussex area. Your caseload will be predominantly surgical (mainly neutering, dentistry and routine soft tissue surgeries), and you will be supported by a kennel supervisor, cattery supervisor, hydrotherapist, Animal Welfare Officer, 2 behaviourists, 2 receptionists, 11 Animal Care Assistants, and an experienced RVN.

The ideal candidate will be an empathetic, pragmatically minded vet with 3+ years clinical experience. We are looking for a team player with a genuine desire to help achieve the RSPCA charitable aims.

PURPOSE OF POST: To carry out veterinary duties to the animals at Mount Noddy.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Undertake veterinary duties as directed including theatre and wards.

- Progress and develop our veterinary welfare standards and supporting policies and procedures to that of exemplar status, in line with our charitable objectives and budgets.

- Maintain a current and progressive knowledge of animal welfare and surrounding topics in order to position Mount Noddy Animal Centre as a leading animal welfare charity.

- Work collaboratively with the Operations team, develop and implement robust and ethical decision-making processes to support the safe rehoming and welfare of our animals in line with the branch’s values and behaviours.
