ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Project Officer for Dartmoor, you will deliver the Bike It Moor project, which forms part of the Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme. You will work in partnership and collaboration with other the DDL partners, who are also delivering projects as part of DDL, to accomplish shared objectives and targets. The DDL programme is led by Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) and made possible by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.  Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to offer this exciting new role.

You will engage and work with selected schools and their wider communities in the project areas, developing and delivering fun, engaging and innovative activities and events. These will be inclusive and promote and enable all forms of active travel (walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling) to school. 

You will plan and deliver practical skills (like cycle and scooter skills sessions, bike maintenance and led walks and rides), information events (such as assemblies, drop-in sessions, pop up stands), competitions, incentive programmes and classroom sessions. You will also plan and deliver day and overnight cycling and walking experiences, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and enjoy the local green landscape, immerse pupils in the natural heritage of the area.

You will report directly to the local Project Manager and will recruit, train and support local volunteers on the project, as well as engaging with project officers across the South region and the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required to be completed by the successful person. Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected.

ABOUT YOU

You should have experience of working with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds and be able to adapt your approach to meet varying needs. You must demonstrate evidence of planning and delivering engaging and interactive group workshops and activity sessions, as well as experience of events planning.

You will have experience of delivering successful behaviour change projects, ideally with a physical activity focus, and have an understanding of community based or environmental projects.

You will be a skilled communicator, with the ability to connect with different audiences ranging from children, parents, school staff and the wider community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Communications and Networks will amplify The Politics Project’s voice, build strategic partnerships and strengthen collaboration across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will lead on communications, stakeholder engagement and the continued development of the Democracy Classroom Network.

You will oversee a team responsible for communications, partnerships and events, providing leadership and guidance to ensure clear messaging, impactful storytelling and strong, coordinated engagement across the sector. The post holder will combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery, managing both the external profile of the organisation and the networks that underpin its reach and influence.

Key responsibilities include:

Communications

• Develop and lead The Politics Project’s communications strategy to raise visibility and strengthen reputation.
• Ensure clear, consistent messaging across all channels, including website, social media, newsletters and press.
• Lead media relations, drafting press releases, handling journalist enquiries and identifying media opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate communications activity to measure reach, engagement and influence.

Partnerships and networks

• Work with the Partnerships Manager and Director to cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders across civil society, government, education and youth sectors.
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the Democracy Classroom Network, including partner communications, newsletters and database management.
• Create opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing between organisations, policymakers and institutions.
• Oversee the Democracy Classroom Platform and ensure it continues to grow as a trusted resource hub for teachers and practitioners.
• Act as The Politics Project’s representative and ambassador at external meetings, conferences and events.

Leadership and management

• Lead and mentor the communications and networks team, including line management of the Partnerships Manager, Communications Lead and Programme Coordinator.
• Manage relationships with freelance designers, illustrators and developers.
• Oversee evaluation and monitoring of communications and network activities, producing reports as required.
• Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively for communications, campaigns and events.

This is a fast-paced senior management role in a small but growing organisation. The post includes a six-month probation period and is fixed-term until March 2027, with the potential of extension depending on funding. Occasional travel within the UK and some evening or weekend work will be required.

We are now seeking an Events Virger to join our team and play a vital role in supporting the Cathedral’s worship and events programme. 

The Role

As Events Virger, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of services and events. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and resetting the Cathedral for services, concerts, and special events. Assist with the setting up and removal of all content and furnishings requested for this activity.
• Opening and closing the Cathedral on a rota basis.
• Ensure the efficient cleaning of the Cathedral with effective use of time and materials and without the need for supervision (the team of Virgers are responsible for all the Cathedral cleaning).
• To be on duty, in accordance with the rota, on Sundays, Festival Days and other occasions, in addition to other routine duties.
• Maintain vestments, altar furnishings and vessels and prepare them for all Services.
• Operating sound and lighting systems as needed.
• Support and assist Chaplains, Guides and other volunteers as required.
• Safeguarding donations and collections.

About the Role

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.

RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management:

• Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
• Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
• Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
• Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
• Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
• Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
• Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
• Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.

Integration & Independence:

• Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.

The Opportunity

Be part of a national team improving how services respond to domestic abuse.

As our Senior Trainer, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our training offer, so more professionals have the confidence and skills to respond well to domestic abuse.

You will design and deliver engaging training online and in person, coordinate rotas and resources, uphold quality, and use feedback to keep content relevant and impactful. You will also line manage two Training Coordinators, nurture key client relationships, and support proposals and bookings that grow our reach and repeat business.

About You

You are an established trainer with experience in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector. You can design and deliver dynamic, inclusive sessions for mixed audiences, both online and in person, with strong feedback and repeat bookings to show for it.

You bring solid understanding of housing and health including safeguarding and local pathways, and you are confident running day to day operations, scheduling and capacity planning.

You have experience line managing people and setting clear standards through observation, coaching and quality assurance. You are comfortable scoping client needs, shaping simple SLAs and turning data and feedback into clear KPIs and reports.

You are trauma informed, anti-racist, collaborative and calm under pressure, with strong communication and sound judgement. A relevant training qualification such as PTLLS or equivalent is desirable.

Whilst this is a remote based job, you will need to be located within London/Home Counties area and be able to travel when required.

Respite and Care Executives play a significant role in enabling our beneficiaries to continue to be independent for as long as possible and when/if they require formal care, they can support them during this time too. They work closely with the Advocacy Team and the Friendships and Connections team to ensure that all their needs are met.

We are looking for a candidate to cover Maternity Leave for 14 months. They will work alongside the current post holder and the other team members for 2 months to learn the role and take over existing cases. They will form part of the existing Respite, Care and Advocacy Team and work closely with other members of the team as well as other colleagues in the Operations Directorate (mainly Welfare).

An articulate communicator with IT skills suited to working in a paperless environment, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages as well as professionals such as external case working organisations, RAF stations, care providers, those who have lasting power of attorney (LPA). You must have an understanding of the social care system and the Mental Capacity Act.

The role is based in our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Standard DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.
